The definition of requested requirements by the companies represents one of the key aspects for the entrance of new professional figures. In particular, focusing the attention on food & beverage sector, in this study two job profiles are considered: pastry chef e pastry assistant. Data for this analysis are collected by The AdeccoGroup in Italy in 2016 and 2017. The personal competencies to make capable to face the growing flexibility of the profession are object of specified request cross-sectional to more economic sectors. After a brief description of the database content, the principal objective of the research is to report the most requested requirements for the companies. Other analysis are provided to show possible relationships among these requirements and the previous experience owned by candidates. Finally, a comparison is presented about the competencies requested by the two job figures using descriptive statistics and classification techniques.

Abstract May Measurement Month (MMM) is a global initiative that aims at raising awareness and screening people for high blood pressure (BP). Malawi has participated in MMM since 2017. A 2017 STEPwise Survey conducted in Malawi among 4187 participants found that 65.2% had never had their BP measured before, 26.8% had their BPs measured but not diagnosed, 3.9% were diagnosed but not within the last 12 months, and 4.1% were diagnosed within the last 12 months. An opportunistic cross-sectional survey of volunteers aged 18 and above was carried out in May and June 2019. All BP measurements, definition of hypertension and statistical analysis followed the standard MMM protocol. The screening took place in Nkhatabay, Lilongwe, and Blantyre. A total number of 9723 participants were screened with a mean age of 42.0 (SD 16.6) years. Of these 8444 (86.8%) had never had their BP measured within the last 12 months, 2559 (26.3%) had raised BP, 2169 (23.2%) of those with raised BP were not on treatment whereas 390 (4.0%) were on treatment. The results showed that many of the participants had not had their BP checked in the past year. There is a significant need to expand BP screening opportunities within Malawi for early detection of hypertension.

O objetivo deste artigo é analisar as queixas de nutrizes que buscaram atendimento em um BLH e fatores associados.Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, analítico, transversal, retrospectivo, cuja população é composta por 1.709 nutrizes quebuscaram atendimento no período de Janeiro a Dezembro de 2016. Para a coleta de dados, utilizaram-se as fichas deatendimento do BLH. As principais queixas que levaram as nutrizes a buscarem atendimento no BLH relacionam-se àdificuldade com a técnica de amamentação (41,9%) e a problemas mamários, como o ingurgitamento mamário (27,1%) eo trauma mamilar (18,1%). A necessidade de auxílio na técnica de amamentação esteve associada às seguintes condiçõesrelativas à nutriz: ser procedente da capital (p=0,001), apresentar mais de oito anos de estudo (p=0,040), ter uma ocupação (p=0,010), ser primípara (p=<0,001), optar pela realização de parto cesárea (p=<0,001) e ter experiência préviacom amamentação (p=0,004). Houve associação entre ingurgitamento mamário e primiparidade (p=0,038), além do fatode a nutriz ter contado com o apoio ao aleitamento materno na maternidade (p=0,021). O estudo possibilitou verificar aimportância dos BLH no processo de lactação, um período em que as mulheres ficam ansiosas, necessitam de informaçõesconfiáveis e apresentam muitas queixas em relação à lactação.PALAVRAS-CHAVES : Aleitamento materno, Bancos de leite, Saúde da mulher. Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyze the complaints of lactating mothers who sought care in a HMB and associatedfactors. It is a descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective study, whose population is composed of 1.709 lactating mothers whosought care in the period from January to December the 2016. For the data collection, were used the service records ofthe HMB. The main complaints that led the lactating mothers to seek care at HMB were related to the difficulty with thebreastfeeding technique (41.9%) and to breast problems, such as breast engorgement (27.1%) and nipple trauma (18,1%). Theneed for breastfeeding technique was associated to the following nutrient conditions: coming from the capital (p = 0.001),presenting more than eight years of study (p = 0.040), having an occupation (p = 0.010), being primiparous (p = <0.001), optfor cesarean (p = 0.001) and to have previous experience with breastfeeding (p = 0.004). There was an association betweenbreast engorgement and primiparity (p = 0.038), in addition to the fact that the mother had support for breastfeeding in thematernity ward (p = 0.021). This paper aims to engage in a critical comparison of the spiritual authority of the awliyā’ in the Shi‘i and Sufi traditions in order to examine an area of Islamic belief that remains unclearly defined. Similarities between Shi‘i and Sufi doctrine have long been noted, but little research has been conducted on how and why they developed. Taking a central tenet of both, walāyah, the paper discusses several of its key aspects as they appear recorded in Shi‘i ḥadīth collections and as they appear later in one of the earliest Sunni Sufi treatises. By extention, it seeks to explore the identity of the awliyā’ and their role in relation to the Twelve Imams. It also traces the reabsorption into Shi‘i culture of the Sufi definition of walāyah via two examples: the works of one branch of the Dhahabi order and those of Allamah Tabataba’i, a popular twentieth-century Iranian mystic and scholar.

Abstract Child acute malnutrition (AM) is an important cause of child mortality. Accurately estimating its burden requires cumulative incidence data from longitudinal studies, which are rarely available in low-income settings. In the absence of such data, the AM burden is approximated using prevalence estimates from cross-sectional surveys and the incidence correction factor $K$, obtained from the few available cohorts that measured AM. We estimated $K$ factors for severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and moderate acute malnutrition (MAM) from AM incidence and prevalence using representative cross-sectional baseline and longitudinal data from 2 cluster-randomized controlled trials (Innovative Approaches for the Prevention of Childhood Malnutrition—PROMIS) conducted between 2014 and 2017 in Burkina Faso and Mali. We compared K estimates using complete (weight-for-length z score, mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC), and edema) and partial (MUAC, edema) definitions of SAM and MAM. $K$ estimates for SAM were 9.4 and 5.7 in Burkina Faso and in Mali, respectively; K estimates for MAM were 4.7 in Burkina Faso and 5.1 in Mali. The MUAC and edema–based definition of AM did not lead to different $K$ estimates. Our results suggest that $K$ can be reliably estimated when only MUAC and edema-based data are available. Additional studies, however, are required to confirm this finding in different settings.

COVID-19 has significantly impacted young people’s lives yet little is known about the COVID-19 related sources of information they access. We performed a cross-sectional survey of pupils (11–16 years) in North Staffordshire, UK. 408 (23%) pupils responded to an online survey emailed to them by their school. Descriptive statistics were used to summarise the data. Social media, accessed by 68%, played a significant role in the provision of information, despite it not being considered trustworthy. 89% felt that COVID-19 had negatively affected their education. Gaps in the provision of information on COVID-19 have been identified.

AbstractCold extruded components are characterized by residual stresses, which originate from the experienced manufacturing process. For industrial applications, reproducibility and homogeneity of the final components are key aspects for an optimized quality control. Although striving to obtain identical deformation and surface conditions, fluctuation in the manufacturing parameters and contact shear conditions during the forming process may lead to variations of the spatial residual stress distribution in the final product. This could lead to a dependency of the residual stress measurement results on the relative axial and circumferential position on the sample. An attempt to examine this problem is made by the employment of design of experiments (DoE) methods. A statistical analysis of the residual stress results generated through X-Ray diffraction is performed. Additionally, the ability of cold extrusion processes to generate uniform stress states is analyzed on specimens of austenitic stainless steel 1.4404 and possible correlations with the pre-deformed condition are statistically examined. Moreover, the influence of the coating, consisting of oxalate and a MoS2 based lubricant, on the X-Ray diffraction measurements of the surface is investigated.

The aim of this study was to determine healthcare providers’ knowledge and practices about dysphagia. A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out based on a self-administered and anonymous questionnaire addressed to healthcare providers in Spain. A total of 396 healthcare providers participated in the study. Of these, 62.3% knew the definition of dysphagia as a swallowing disorder. In addition, up to 39.2% of the participants reported that they did not know whether the EatingAssessmentTool (EAT-10) dysphagia screening test was usedin their own clinical settings. Similarly, up to 49.1% of them did not know the ClinicalExaminationVolume-Viscosity (MECV-V) method. Nearly all participants (98.8%) reported that thickeners must be used forall liquids administered to patients. A higher percentage of respondents based the choice of texture on patient’s tolerance (78.2%) rather than on the MECV-V result (17.3%). In addition,76.4% of the professionals had witnessed a bronchoaspiration; after it, 44.4% (n = 175) of them reported the appearance of pneumonia, and 14.5% (n = 57) the death of the patient (p = 0.005). The participants revealeda moderate/low knowledge ofthe definition, diagnosis, and clinical management of liquid dysphagia, which indicates some room for improvements.

Background: A wide variety of social, cultural and economic factors may influence dietary patterns. This work aims to identify the main determinants of food consumption and barriers for healthy eating at the workplace, in a university setting. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was conducted with 533 participants. Data were obtained through the application of a self-administered questionnaire that included socio-demographic information, food consumption determinants and the main perceived barriers for healthy eating at the workplace. Results: The respondents identified “price” (22.5%), “meal quality” (20.7%), and “location/distance” (16.5%). For women, the determinant “availability of healthy food options” was more important than for men (p < 0.001). The food consumption determinants at the workplace most referred to by respondents were related to the nutritional value. Smell, taste, appearance and texture, and good value for money, were also considered important for choosing food at the workplace. Respondents referred to work commitments and lack of time as the main barriers for healthy eating at the workplace. Conclusions: Identification of determinants involved in food consumption, and the barriers for healthy eating, may contribute to a better definition of health promotion initiatives at the workplace aiming to improve nutritional intake.

BackgroundCare navigation is an avenue to link patients to activities or organisations that can help address non-medical needs affecting health and wellbeing. An understanding of how care navigation is being implemented across primary care is lacking.AimTo determine how ‘care navigation’ is interpreted and currently implemented by clinical commissioning groups (CCGs).Design and settingA cross-sectional study involving CCGs in England.MethodA questionnaire was sent to all CCGs inviting them to comment on who provided care navigation, the type of patients for whom care navigation was provided, how individuals were referred, and whether services were being evaluated. Responses were summarised using descriptive statistics.ResultsThe authors received usable responses from 83% of CCGs (n = 162), and of these >90% (n = 147) had some form of care navigation running in their area. A total of 75 different titles were used to describe the role. Most services were open to all adult patients, though particular groups may have been targeted; for example, people who are older and those with long-term conditions. Referrals tended to be made by a professional, or people were identified by a receptionist when they presented to a surgery. Evaluation of care navigation services was limited.ConclusionThere is a policy steer to engaging patients in social prescribing, using some form of care navigator to help with this. Results from this study highlight that, although this type of role is being provided, its implementation is heterogeneous. This could make comparison and the pooling of data on care navigation difficult. It may also leave patients unsure about what care navigation is about and how it could help them.
