The experiences, knowledge, achievements and values that have been gained by nations starting from ancient times and up today constitute the culture of that nation. It has become worthy of examining the relationship between culture-language-human within the frameworks of cultural linguistics. Names are attached to any entity in accordance with its shape, function, tasks, and appearance that reflect different meanings in each society or their linguistic worldview. The concept of linguistic worldview, which is discussed in cultural-linguistics studies in the field of linguistics, deals with studying how each language and therefore the societies or societies with common values perceive the world and reflect it through the language they use, what qualities of entities and concepts surrounding them they distinguish, how they describe feelings and thoughts of a human being and their value judgments. This paper studies analogies and idioms that are formed by means of preposition “gibi” in the Turkish language and “sıyaktuu” with the suffix –Day in the Kyrgyz language, which are examined in the context of comparative cultural linguistics. Thus, the differences and/or similarities between the perception of external world between the two societies are revealed.

Language is the "spirit of the people". Today the generally accepted idea is the one of the anthropocentrism of language. The formation of the anthropocentric paradigm has focused researchers' attention on a person, on its place in culture because the linguistic personality is the center of cultural tradition. Within the framework of this paradigm, cultural linguistics are developing – the science focused on the cultural factor in language and the linguistic factor in the person; the science that aims to study the correlation and the communication between language and culture, between language and consciousness. The formation of the stable nomenclature is the cultural linguistics' problem of high priority. One of the most important concepts in this field is the concept of linguistic-cultural code, along with the concepts of "cultural code" and "verbal code". The article is devoted to the analysis of modern approaches to the study of the concept of linguistic-cultural code, which is a verbal embodiment of the cultural code. It aims to analyze existing works on this problem and define the theoretical foundations of the study of the linguistic-cultural code. The article reveals typological and functional characteristics of linguistic-cultural code systems. It describes methods of classification of codes within the system on the thematic and substantive grounds, namely the division of codes into substantive and conceptual ones. The purpose of the classifications of this kind is to identify and organize material means of expressing culturally relevant information. The article considers the system of the hierarchical ordering of linguistic-cultural codes and uses the term "subcode" to denote the linguoculture of lower-level systems. The linguistic and cultural interpretation of the subcode as a unit of the lower level than the code and of its place in the system of cultural codes with branchy vertical and horizontal internal connections, forming a figurative cultural paradigm, appears to be relevant. The conclusions of the article may serve as the theoretical basis for further practical research in the field of linguoculture and linguistic semiotics.

When we translate, we do so for specific communicative situations and purposes; that is, we write translations that will fulfil the needs and conventions of specific textual genres in the target language and culture. The aim of this article, which draws on data and experience from the GENTT project, is to explore the relationship between translation and genre theory in order to understand better how translators are involved in interlinguistic and intercultural communication.Genre theory is attractive to Translation Studies because it links the micro level of writing and text to the macro level of discourse and context, unites process with product and integrates the cognitive, social and profes¬sional approaches to translation. Thus, the notion of genre brings together critical elements in translation such as the reader ’s profile, expectations and preferences; the communicative situation and purpose; and the socio-cultural context. In order to understand better how translators are involved in interlinguistic and intercultural communication, we suggest a remodelling of translation in which the target genre plays a central role.

Metaphor, as a figure of speech, is unavoidably associated with culture due to the relationship of language and culture. As far as the theme of the thesis is concerned, it tries to analyze the cultural factors influencing the formation of metaphor.</p>

In modern linguistics, there is a great interest in the analysis of linguistic and cultural material in the process of teaching languages, an anthropocentric paradigm is formed, the language is considered not only within its communicative and cognitive function, but as a kind of cultural code of individual linguistic and cultural communities. The purpose of this scientific article is to study the manifestation of linguistic and cultural worldview and to study the linguistic and cultural aspect of learning English through phraseological level units. The study of the conceptual structure allows us to identify deeper and more significant properties of an object or phenomenon. Such properties represent generalized features of an object or phenomenon that are considered the most important and necessary for their identification, since the features of an object or phenomenon form the structure of the concept. The object of this scientific article is phraseological units that express the concepts of the inner world of a person, the specifics of their functioning and interpretation in the English language, and aspects of their use in the process of teaching English. All the subtleties of a nation's culture are reflected in its language, which is specific and unique since it captures the world and the person in it in different ways (BUYANOVA, 1998). “Therefore, the problem of the relationship between language and culture occupies one of the Central places in the problems of research conducted in the field of linguoculturology and cognitive science.”. The developments in Indonesia, especially in the capital city of Jakarta, have now become one of the livelihood fields that interest foreign citizens. However, due to differences in citizenship, language and culture, foreign workers who work in Jakarta experience obstacles in communication in Indonesia. In addition, the flow of globalization in metropolitan cities such as Jakarta is developing rapidly, resulting in the diminishing culture of the people residing in this city. However, it cannot be denied that there are still a number of phenomena caused by cultural differences between foreign workers and the people of Jakarta. These barriers make a noneffective communication of foreign workers. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research with the phenomenological method. The theoretical foundation used in this research is communication theory, intercultural communication and intercultural communication barriers. The results showed, of the six barriers to intercultural communication put forward by Devito, only four barriers were experienced by foreign workers who worked in Jakarta, there are stereotypes, misinterpretations of the meaning of verbal and nonverbal messages, violations of customs and culture and culture shock. Whereas prejudice and ethnocentrism do not become obstacles for foreign workers because foreign workers have a more open mind in a new environment they occupy.
