The Researchers investigated into the causes, effects and management strategies of stress among University of Cape Coast Distance Education student teachers in the Central of Ghana. The study employed the Phenomenology approach to provide insights into the sources of stress and how it can be managed to reduce its negative effects on student teachers and their performance in the classroom. Purposive sampling technique was used to select Twenty- eight (28) participants for the study. It emerged from the study that stress is caused by personal/individual factors, interpersonal factors, leadership/management factors as well as professional factors. It was, also, found out that individuals adopt various ways and means such as seeking counselling services, involving in political arguments to while away time to reduce tension and talking to friends. The study recommends that the management of CoDE organize regular orientation programme for teachers on how to deal with stress professionally. It is also recommended that the government through the Ministry of Education trains more teachers to reduce workload on teachers. Lastly, GES should encourage teachers to engage in extra-curricular activities to reduce stress.

The study assessed how students and course tutors on distance education programmes of the College of DistanceEducation, University of Cape Coast appraised their study centre coordinators’ performance in terms of humanrelations, behaviour, organising teaching and learning facilities; and handling complaints. This type of appraisal, where students and tutors representing customers and subordinates respectively, is usually referred to as the360-feedback method in human resource management. Concurrent embedded study design from the pragmatists’epistemic approach was adopted for the study. Simple random and purposive sampling technique were respectivelyused to sample 1228 final year students and 217 course tutors from 53 study centres; and five coordinators from eachof the three Zones across the ten regions of Ghana for triangulation purposes. Data was analysed with descriptivestatistics, independent t-test and a one-way between-groups analysis of variance. The study found that coordinators’behavior and human relations were rated higher as compared to complaints handling and organising study centreactivities. This was blamed on lack of capacity to address most of students and tutors challenges; and teaching loadof coordinators. It was recommended that the management of College of Distance Education should increase thecapacity of coordinators for district and regional study centres as well as the Zones in terms of resources andtechnology to be able to take immediate steps to solve students and tutors’ complaints.

The Government of Kenya made inclusive education a policy requirement in the provision of education to all children. Research has shown that the support given by teachers plays a very important role in curriculum implementation that ensures success in a child`s career. Education Assessment records in Kisumu county indicate that between the year 2012 and 2016, 846 learners who are physically challenged had been assessed and placed in regular schools in Kisumu West, Kisumu Central and Kisumu East sub-counties, out of which 246 had dropped out of school. However, Learners who are physical challenged often drop out of school more as compared to their regular counterparts particularly in Kisumu West Sub-County. The number of learners who are physically challenged enrolled in regular primary schools has been decreasing due to dropouts despite the fact that officers in Kisumu EARC conducted sensitization programs and workshops yearly for teachers and stakeholders in education. This decrease is confirmed at 138 (31.9%), which is higher as compared to the dropout of neighboring sub-counties namely: Kisumu East 31 (21.8%) and Kisumu Central 77(28.4%). Reason for this high dropout has not been established. The purpose of this study was therefore to establish teachers’ level of support in the use of teaching and learning resources of learners who are physically challenged  in regular primary schools in Kisumu West Sub-County and objective of this study therefore was to establish teachers’ level of support in the use of teaching and learning resources of learners who are physically challenged. A conceptual framework was used to show the interaction of dependent and independent variables. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. Target population of the study consisted of 15 head teachers, 30 teachers, 6 EARC coordinators and 90 learners who are physically challenged. Saturated sampling technique was used to select 13 head teachers and 4 EARC coordinators, while purposive sampling was used to select 27 teachers and 81 learners who are physically challenged. Data was collected using questionnaires, interview schedules and observation checklist.  Face and content validity of instruments was established through expert judgment and revision. Reliability of instruments was established through test-retest method on 10% of study population using Pearson’s product correlation. Reliability coefficient for head teachers questionnaire was 0.8, teachers’ questionnaires was 0.9; Learners who are physically challenged questionnaires was 0.7. This was above the accepted value of 0.7. Correlation coefficient analysis was used to establish teachers’ level of support in the use of teaching and learning resources f learners  who are physically challenged. Quantitative data was analyzed using frequency counts, percentages and mean. Qualitative data from interview and observation schedules were collected, organized and categorized into themes and sub-themes, which were reported. Findings of the study indicated that most regular primary schools did not have adequate adapted teaching and learning resources required for learners who are physically challenged. The study recommended that Ministry of Education should ensure adequate supply of adapted teaching and learning resources, Findings of this study would be useful to teachers, EARC coordinators, and Ministry of Education.

The government through the Ministry of Education and Culture has launched the Universal Secondary Education (PMU) program. The program encourages community participation in achieving the compulsory education to the higher level 12 years, so that the gross enrollment ratio (GER ) and net enrollment ratio ( NER ) on secondary education could be increased significantly. One of the educational system that is possible to accommodate PMU is Distance Education ( PJJ ) for secondary education. Some of PJJ advantages are easy to open and closed as needed, because this system does not require a new building, new teachers, and new administrative staff. PJJ is believed to have a function in supporting the increased accessibility, equity, quality improvement, and independent learning child services. PJJ learning process relies more on the use of ICT in blended learning method. Other adventages of PJJ are learners can control when and where they learn, as well as possible to be done while working .

LANGUAGE NOTE | Document text in English; abstract also in Chinese.Classroom management is essential to effective teaching. However, there is little information about how physical education student teachers manage their classes. Berliner (1988) proposed five stages of learning to teach and argued that experience is a predominant element to the development of expertise in pedagogy. Cruz (2000) suggested that the in-service student teachers taught better than their pre-service counter-parts as they had more in-field experience. The purpose of the study was to examine the class management practices of in-service physical education student teachers. Three in-service student teachers were randomly selected and invited to participate in the study. They were observed teaching two ball games lessons and took part in two pre-lesson interviews and two post-lesson stimulated recall sessions. Qualitative data were collected through lesson observations and interviews. Constant comparison and analytic induction were used to organize and categorize the data. Results showed that there were common managerial behaviours and management strategies adopted by the student teachers during teaching. Teaching style, organization and supporting were the identical managerial behaviours observed, whilst the preventive management, equipment management and interactive class management were the common class management strategies identified. The findings hold implications for the preparation of physical education teachers.

The study investigated how the new four year Bachelor of Education degree students performed in their first ever quizzes organised by the University of Cape Coast (UCC). The student teachers were quizzed on some concepts in General Biology (EBS 103), a general course for all the forty-six (46) Colleges of Education in Ghana except students offering General Science as elective subject in the Colleges. The study involved the whole level hundred (L100) students of Abetifi Presbyterian College of Education who were selected through purposive and convenience sampling technique, totalling 435 students (195 female and 240 male). The test items used for the quizzes (Quiz 1 and 2) were constructed by Senior Lecturers of UCC with it reliability of 0.7 and its content and construct validity determined.  Data was collected from the scores in both quizzes and were analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. An independent sample t-test conducted showed that there was a significant difference between the performance of the male student teachers and the female student teachers in both quizzes ( p = 0.000, p>0.05). The findings further revealed that there was a higher mean score in the quiz one compared to quiz 2; however, the mean difference was statistically insignificant (P=0.623, p>0.05).

AbstractConflicts and disputes related to religion, race, and also ethnic groups, as well as the hedonism and egoism of Indonesian people today, are eroding the religious and national character of the nation. The Government of Indonesia, through the Ministry of Education and Culture, seeks to strengthen character education (PPK) as a way to grow, instill, and strengthen the positive character of the nation's children. This study aims to make scale the religious character of high school students based on the values of the main characters of the Ministry of Education and Culture by using the principal component analysis (PCA) technique. The population of this research is high school students in Jambi Province with 337 high school students with ages range 15 to 18 years. the sampling technique using purposive sampling. The results of the analysis through the Principal Component Analysis method with orthogonal rotation and varimax extraction resulted in six principal components that were successfully reduced, namely: components of peace, tolerance, protection, detachment, respect and friendship. Each component has a coefficient of 0,000 which means that each component measures a different aspect, each aspect independent of each other and not related to each other. The reliability test using the Guttman Method yields a value of λ = 0.781 which means the scale has a degree of reliability sufficient to measure the religious character of High School Students and can be used with other measurements to support validation of the measurement.

Referring to the SWOT analysis table, the government can formulate a lobster trade and management strategy into an effort to preserve lobsters and improve the welfare of fishermen and lobster cultivators. The best step that can be taken by the government is to postpone the implementation of Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation No.12 of 2020 which is a factor in the inefficiency of production factors. Through this Regulation of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, the market is very likely to experience failure in carrying out its function as a force in the allocation of production factors. Of course, this will decrease the probability of increasing the maximum social welfare for many parties. Through the postponement of Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation No.12 of 2020, the government can consider economic management strategies for lobsters, namely developing upstream-downstream supply chains, reviewing and revising all regulations related to lobster cultivation and trade, and preventing and avoiding fishing practices. illegal fish. In addition, the government can strengthen and develop the lobster sector in Indonesia by conserving lobsters in the red and yellow zones. Through this explanation, it can be concluded that Regulation of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Number 12 of 2020 has a negative effect on the sustainability of lobsters in Indonesia. The negative effects that arise consist of the emergence of turmoil in power holders, the trapping of lobster cultivators on the disadvantageous side, the more dominant profits of investors, and causing the scarcity of lobster seeds in the future. The government sould consider filed condition and all the possibilities that occur before implementing a new policy.Based on the government's negligence, this failure can be considered as a failure of government intervention. Therefore, delaying the implementation of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation is the best way to restore the position and welfare of domestic lobster cultivators and fishermen, while reconsidering the economic management strategy for lobsters.

This study examined students’ perception on the integration of Information Technology (IT) in Ghanaian distance Education, and provided a comparative analysis of the levels of integration among public universities in Ghana. The research was conducted at the distance learning centres of the 4 major public universities, namely: University of Ghana (UG), University of Cape Coast (UCC), University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Questionnaires were used to collect data from a sample of 297 students, using a cluster sampling technique and the data were analysed using One-Way ANOVA and chi-square statistics. The study showed that although computer literacy among distance learners was high, technology integration was low and varied among the institutions. Smart phones were the major internet access devices. The online learning tools for self-efficacy were vital to IT integration. Based on the gathered results, recommendations such as implementing a robust national IT infrastructure, among others, were provided for reflection by higher education institutions offering distance education in Ghana.

The study explored the value and the status of practicum in Chinese undergraduate teacher education (CTE) and identified the challenges of practicum in order to layout ways of improvement. The study investigated the problems with reference to international perspective and was delimited to only Chinese undergraduate pre-service teacher education (TE) programme. Using concurrent mixed method design a survey was distributed to 75 student teachers (STs), 50 mentor teachers, and five supervisors. Among participants, 15 STs and 10 mentors were selected using simple random sampling technique from each cooperating school. All the five supervisors, who were assigned supervising duty during practicum in those five schools, were included in the sample. In this way the response rate of STs, mentors, and supervisors was 96% (72), 90% (45), and 100% respectively. Interview was conducted with 10 STs, five supervisors, and five mentor teachers. For collecting qualitative data, STs and mentors were selected using purposive sampling technique. The time and timing of practicum was found inappropriate. The practicum doesn't have due importance in the education, and the mode of practicum being followed is outdated. The application of test development, administering, and scoring skills was being totally ignored during the practicum. Dividing practicum into different phases and active role of faculties and ministry of education in recognizing and communicating the significance of practicum has been suggested.
