The article basing upon estimation of the social and economic potential of Russian Federation subjects shows that the resource model of economic development is suitable for nearly half of them. The advantages of this model are described using the example of the Far Eastern Federal District subjects that could be the proof of the necessity of "resource correction" of regional economic policy in Russia.

A child’s right to high quality education not only relies on a competent and skilled workforce, but one in which educators are well. Supporting a well workforce requires governments, organisations and educators to attend to work environment quality. This attention needs be based on sound, relevant evidence. In this paper we contribute evidence of educators’ well-being from the survey component of an Australian study with 73 participants. We map results against international guidelines, and policy openings in Australia’s National Quality Standard to understand how educators’ work environments are affecting their well-being. We conclude that existing policies on quality in early childhood education in Australia attend to only some features of work environments, with a notable absence of attention to supporting educators in the relational complexities of their work. To enable educators to provide high quality education and care, greater attention is needed by organisations and governments to what quality work environments might look like.

ABSTRACT We report here paired isogenic Burkholderia pseudomallei genomes obtained from three patients receiving intravenous meropenem for melioidosis treatment, with post-meropenem isolates developing decreased susceptibility. Two genomes were finished, and four were drafted to improved high-quality standard. These genomes will be used to identify meropenem resistance mechanisms in B. pseudomallei.

As people age, they are more likely to develop multiple chronic diseases and experience a decline in some of their physical and cognitive functions, leading to the decrease in their ability to live independently. Innovative technology-based interventions tailored to older adults’ functional levels and focused on healthy lifestyles are considered imperative. This work proposed a framework of active and healthy ageing through the integration of a broad spectrum of digital solutions into an open Pan-European technological platform in the context of the SHAPES project, an EU-funded innovation action. In conclusion, the SHAPES project can potentially engage older adults in a holistic technological ecosystem and, therefore, facilitate the maintenance of a high-quality standard of life.

The results of an adequate assessment of the socio-economic state and directions of development of any region are necessary for both regional and federal authorities. The choice of a right strategy for improving the quality and standard of living of the population of a given region depends on this assessment. The authors propose a new approach to obtaining a static and dynamic picture of the results of the implementation of socio-economic policy in a region, which directly affects the quality and standard of living of its population. Widely used approaches based on the calculation of one integral indicator or on the comparison of particular indicators of the quality and standard of living of region’s population do not allow us to obtain a consistent and objective picture of the socio-economic development. The proposed approach is based on the analysis of the trajectory of “movement” of a region in space of two coordinates that objectively reflect the quality and standard of living of population. An indicator “average per capita income of the population” is selected to assess the standard of living, and an indicator “life expectancy at birth” is selected to assess the quality of life. Static assessment allows to get a picture of a location of regions in the space of these two selected coordinates and to get a basis for conducting an interregional comparison, as well as to assess the quality and standard of living of the population of a region in comparison with average Russian values. Dynamic assessment allows to obtain information about changes in the level and quality of life of the population of a region over a selected time period, analyze positive and negative trends in certain areas of the constructed trajectory, assess the consequences of decisions taken by the authorities of this region in the implementation of tasks for condition improvement. The proposed approach allows us to obtain consistent results that enable us to assess the achieved level of implementation of the socio-economic policy in a region in comparison to other regions, as well as during a selected time interval.
