This study discusses code switching used by society in Baturaja village. This study aims to determine the types of code switching used by Baturaja society and the factors that determine code switching. The theory used in this research is sociolinguistic theory about code switching, types of code switching, factor of code switching. This research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection instruments consist of observation, recording, transcribing data, interviews, and taking notes. Based on the analysis, it was found that there are two types of code switching used by Baturaja society. the first type is internal code switching, the transition of language from local languages to national languages or vice versa. The second type is external code switching, namely the transfer of languages from national languages to international languages or vice versa. There are several factors that affect code switching: a) speaker, b) listener or interlocutor, c) presence of a third person, d) change in situation, and e) change the topic.

Threat language can be found in various local languages in Indonesia, including the Sepa language of the Indigenous peoples of Amahai, Moluccas, where the nationalization of Indonesian is a threat to its extinction. This paper aims to look at the extinction of regional languages from the framework of modernization and contestation of regional languages with national languages. This study is conducted qualitatively, data collection based on interviews, literature study, and observation obtained from Raja Sepa, community leaders, customary stakeholders. Research shows that the language in Maluku is almost extinct in line with the narrowing of regional language spaces; the language has been abandoned by its speakers because of the process of modernization and migration. This study shows the need for revitalization of the Sepa language through facilitating the mapping of the Sepa language comprehensively, making the Sepa language dictionary, and integrating the Sepa language into the local curriculum.

The purpose of this research to (1) describe the language variations in sociolinguistic interaction of society in Busungbiu district Buleleng Regency, (2) to describe the language choice in sociolinguistic interaction of society in Busungbiu district Buleleng Regency, and (3) to describe the factors that affect language variations and language choices in sociolinguistic interaction of society  in Busungbiu district Buleleng Regency. Data were collected using observation and interview. The data are analyzed through reduction, presentation and data collection. The location of this research is 4 of 15 villages in Busungbiu sub-district that is Sepang Village, Pelapuan, Kekeran, and Busungbiu. The result of this research shows that (1) There are language variations in terms of speakers of dialect and sociolek and language variations in terms of formality. (2) There is a code switching of the Bali language code into the Indonesia language, code switching the Indonesia language code into Bali language, code switching the Java language code into the Indonesia language. The code mixing into and code mixing exit. (3) Factors that influence is the language variation that is area of the speaker's and social origin. Factors that influence is the language choice that is changing speech situations, the presence of a third person, awakens a sense of humor, to a mere prestige, using more popular terms. Thus it can be concluded that the Bali language experiencing critical condition and bali language start to weaken. This can be proved by the existence of citizens who notabene native Bali language speakers can code switch and code mixed, so the use of Bali language began to shift little by little. Based on this, the need for guidance, training and coaching, especially the Bali language in Busungbiu district.

The used of code-switching in learning Indonesian was an overview of the situation of how the interaction between students and teacher in learning. Code-switching used in regards to communicating certainly have functions. This study aimed to describe function code switching used by speakers at SMK of Marisi Medan. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of study were the teacher and students. The objects were utterances of code-switching in Indonesian language learning at Vacational High School of  Marisi Medan. Validity data technique used triangulation of data source and informant review. Data collection used listen and speak methods. Data analysis using the intralingual method. The result of  research showed that function of code-switching at the time of process of Indonesian language learning are explained, reminded, reprimanded, emphasized, and asked.

The purpose of this research is to explain the linguistic situation in the form of diglossic inequality in speech events that occur in the Mesuji Raya. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The stages in this study began with data collection conducted by observation, interview, and note taking techniques. The data in this study consisted of natural utterances used by the Javanese Mesuji Raya speech community. The next stage is the stage of data analysis carried out by the matching method. The results obtained after analyzing the data are Javanese and Indonesian language codes have the Javanese language of instruction in Mesuji Raya and the seat is of a high variety (T) and the low variance code (R), Javanese speakers in this region do not like to use Javanese language codes correctly, and Understand also Understanding the language given by the Javanese people in Mesuji Raya in the various manners is still low. Conclusion, the use of the low variance code (R) is also used as a means of code switching in high variance speech (T), this is caused by linguistic factors, namely the ability of utilization required by the speaker. The aims are to find out: 1) the types of code switching used in the Toba Batak wedding ceremony, 2) how the participants switch language in the process of Toba Batak wedding ceremony, and 3) reason why the participants switch language in the process of Toba Batak wedding ceremony. The data were obtained from the utterances of participants which contain code switching during the process of Toba Batak wedding ceremony precisely in Marhaban, replying and exchanging the verses of rhymes, exchanging of Tepak, and upah-upah stages. They were analyzed by using some steps as normally applied in descriptive qualitative method. The instruments of data collection were audio visual recorder. The findings of the study indicate that; a) Three types of code switching found namely intrasentential, intersentential and tag switching b) Participants in Toba Batak wedding ceremony mix some languages based on participants’ tribes which involved in the process of Toba Batak wedding ceremony and they also adjust the situation and the condition of the people c) Three reasons of code switching during the process of Toba Batak wedding ceremony namely the differences of family’s tribes, religion factor and place of wedding ceremony be held. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. The purpose of this research is to describing theme, characters, plor, setting, message, and point of view in the short story “Der Tänzer Malige” by Johannes Bobrowski. The data in this study were obtained from reading the short story “Der Tänzer Malige” by Johannes Bobrowski. Data collection using library techniques, which are in the from of reading and notes technique on the object of research. The results of this study are as follws, a description of the theme elements: soldiers, character elements: main characters and extras, plot elements: mixed plot, background elements: place setting (village and army barracks) and time setting (August 1939 at the end of the season. Heat), the element of mandate: a high social  spirit, the element of perspective: the third person point of view (Er).the interrelationship between the intrinsic elements of the short story, where the theme, character, plot, space and time setting, mandate, and point of view, shows a structure that influences one another. These elements cannot be separated from one another.

<em>Code switching and code mixing are the strategy of adapting two languages in a speech. The objective of this research is to find the reason why the characters switch or mix their speaking. Revealing and classifying the kinds of code switching and code mixing are also the aim of this study. The writer chooses novel as the object of this study because the characters of this novel are bilingual who are able to speak more than one language. The type of this research is library research. Therefore, in conducting this journal, descriptive qualitative is used as the method of the analysis. The writer collects data by reading the novel, and marking them to make it easier to analyze. The result of this research points out that code mixing is frequently used by the character in the novel. The writer has collected about five kinds of code switching externally and ten kinds of code mixing. Further result, they are five kinds of internal code mixing, and five kinds of external code mixing, and the rest, there are five of external code switching. They tend to choose lexical items that are appropriate from the language where their repertoire is more comprehensive</em>

Sociolinguistics is the study of language variation and use in society. Interference is the event of the use of language elements of one into the other language elements that occur in the speakers themselves. This research uses descriptive qualitative method because to describe the actual realityin order to obtainan accurateand objective. Qualitative descriptive methods were used to analyzethe elements ofa word orphrase that incorporated elements of other languages with the analysis and description of the formulation of the problem is the answer. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, the determination ofthe object of research, the selection of short stories.Based on the analysis of the data in this study can be found that there are six forms of interference morphology, namely (1) the prefix nasal N-sound, (2) the addition of the suffix, (3) the exchange prefix, (4) exchange suffixes, (5) exchange konfiks, (6) removal affixes. While the syntactic interference only on the words and phrases in a sentence. The results of the study it can be concluded that the interference morphology more common than syntactic interference.

This study aims to explain how the distribution of productive zakat in the Rumah Zakat North Sumatra and how the effectiveness of productive zakat distribution in improving the welfare of mustahik in the Rumah Zakat North Sumatra. This study uses a qualitative approach with a type of descriptive method, which is a problem that guides researchers to explore and photograph situations that will be thoroughly investigated, broadly and deeply. Data collection techniques with field research, while the tools used are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis used is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of this study inform that in distributing productive zakat funds, Rumah Zakat is in accordance with Law No. 23 of 2011 concerning Management of Zakat. The distribution of productive zakat carried out by the Rumah Zakat North Sumatra through the Senyum Mandiri Program to mustahik in Medan Helvetia Subdistrict has been effective, because it can improve the welfare of mustahik, this is evidenced by the income of eight of thirteen mustahik people in total, five people whose income is fixed and four out of eight people whose income has increased has reached the level of muzaki.
