The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia is attacking not only public health but also the economy. The presence of Covid-19 has many important impacts on developed countries. There are at least four industries most impacted by this pandemic, including households, MSMEs, companies and the financial industry. However, the halal industry is believed to be more resilient to the Covid-19 pandemic. This durability is because of the principles attributed to the halal sector, namely the importance of fairness, balance and openness. The author’s goal is therefore to carry out more in-depth research on the role of the halal industry in supporting the national economy, which is under pressure because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This type of study is a literature review with a material analysis approach that explores the conditions of the halal industry in Indonesia in depth. The material received is as books, published information, and online news. The findings of this study reveal that there are three halal business sectors that are believed to be more vulnerable to the Covid-19 pandemic in order to facilitate national economic recovery. Halal finance, halal food and halal fashion industries are among them. Halal finance from both the banking sector and the Islamic stock market has proved to be more robust than the mainstream financial sector. Besides guaranteed halal food, its wellbeing is also guaranteed, and halal fashion is now on the rise as Muslim fashion is increasingly innovative and global. We believe the three of them to have experienced vigorous growth, and also to continue to draw customers. And also after the Covid-19 pandemic, these three sectors could survive. Thus the halal industry also contributes to Indonesian economy.

Abstract Sustainable economic growth and identifying factors affecting it are among the important issues which have always received attention from researchers of different countries. Accordingly, one of the factors affecting economic growth, which has received attention from researchers in the developed countries over recent years, is the issue of environmental technologies that enter the economic cycle of other countries after being patented through technology transfer. The current research investigated the role of the environment-related patents and the effects of the patented technological innovations compatible with climate change mitigation on the economic growth and development in the Middle East countries within a specific time period. The required data were gathered from the valid global databases, including Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development and World Bank and have been analyzed using multi-linear regression methods and econometric models with Eviews 10 software. The obtained results with 95% confidence level show that the environmental patents (β = 0.02) and environment management (β = 0.04) and technologies related to the climate change mitigation (β = 0.02) have a significant positive impact on the sustainable economic development and growth rate in the studied countries. Such a study helps innovators and policymakers in policy decisions related to sustainable development programs from the perspective of environmentally friendly technologies by demonstrating the role of patents in three important environmental areas, namely environmental management, water-related adaptation and climate change mitigation, as one of the factors influencing sustainable economic growth.

This research paper examines the foreign investment laws and procedure of Pakistan and their role in protection of foreign investment in Pakistan. These laws are untapped area of research and one cannot find any specific research tracing the legal development in this highly specialized field. So far Pakistan has 48 BITs enforced with different countries and has also signed ICSID Convention, which is promulgated locally through Arbitration (International Investment Disputes) Act, 2011 incorporating the Convention in the schedule to ease the difficulty of foreign investors to enforce the awards rendered under auspices of ICSID in the territory of Pakistan. Under this research, an attempt has been made to study prevalent foreign investment laws and its trends in Pakistan. Though Pakistan has significantly improved its foreign investment regime by introducing new investor’s friendly laws like, Special Economic Zones Act, 2011 and Investment Policy, 2013 etc., apart from its previous legislation on the subject, yet this regime needs more improvement and updating. Extensive overview of all existing foreign investment laws were carried out in this research. Fair and Equitable Treatment, Expropriation and other factors affecting foreign investment laws are the areas, which need to be taken care of by policy maker in the existing foreign investment laws of Pakistan. With these aims, it is hoped that this research paper would be a humble contribution in the literature on the subject.

In the present paper, the positive dynamics in activity in the construction sector and real estate market is analyzed and is noted that it is required to increase the amount of provided realtor services and the improvement of quality to consumers. We should note that the analyzes of the paper allow one to assess productive characteristics and closeness of relationships between various factors (the price per 1 m2 of residential real estate in the primary and secondary markets). Unfortunately, in the Republic of Azerbaijan offering the formation of such a mechanism is impossible. İn the real estate market often we meet inexperienced brokers and sometimes buying and selling operations are accompanied by the risks and losses, including speculative transactions. Of course, in our country, there is a need to establish a system that has been adapted to the characteristics of the local market and similar to the above-mentioned system. It should be noted that the level of real estate services market and its development, the characteristics of the national economy and improving its structure reflects the level of development. It is no coincidence that in the context of the realities of real estate market in many of developed countries the formation of a market economy and the deepening of economic relations are reviewed as important factors stimulating the development of other sectors of the national economy. Azerbaijan's real estate market would be advisable to use more advanced methods to study the experience of foreign countries in this field and it would be very useful to take serious steps to benefit from it.

The article analyzes the current state of the Russian economy in the context of globalization. The research reveals the dominant role of capitalist countries in the process of globalization. The role of developing countries is related to ensuring a balanced world economy. Globalization causes changes in world economic relations. Russia has taken an active position not only among developing but also developed countries. The article reveals that in the context of the US trade war with China and increased protectionism, developing countries have assumed the risks of losing capital and falling into a deeper and longer recession. Russia’s position in economic globalization is linked to the place of BRICS in modern world order. Modern world order requires Russia to initiate the creation of new geopolitical communities, in addition to BRICS. To maintain Russia’s stable position in the world economy, modern objective reality requires not only its participation in various geopolitical communities, but also their initiation.
