Analysis of known methods and modern equipment for printing and publishing (sheet rotary machines, roll machines, flat-printing and platen machines for flat impression block, relief, intaglio and digital printing) is conducted in this article. In a result of the analysis article authors have to make a conclusion, that most prospective equipment for automated printing and publishing complexes are: high-performance sheet and roll machines, in that number crucible, flatbed and rotary three-cylinder machines and also single-layer and multi-layer sectional machines, digital laser and inkjet machines. Authors propose a mathematical model of an automated optimization system of functioning of modern printing and publishing companies. In the model are used databases with information about orders (quantity, volumes, content, terms of orders fulfillment, admissible prime value and characteristics of quality of finished products), production capacities of printing and publishing enterprises of the region (destination, quantity and productivity of equipment, its technological capabilities, loading with other orders, service life), as well as additional data about value of transportation and storage of ready products, the possibility and feasibility of transferring orders to other enterprises and more. The elaborated model can be used as a basis for creation of a computer program for automated synthesis and analysis of functioning optimization of modern printing and publishing companies in the region to improve their efficiency, as well as for help customers of printing products in selection of optimal variants of orders fulfillment. The modeling results will allow to rationalize the utilization of enterprises capacity, to reduce the value of finished products, to ensure their proper quality, to avoid of disruptions during of peak periods of enterprises loading, to reduce the value of repair and maintenance of the complex equipment.

Medicine is the main means to reduce cancer mortality. However, some medicines face various risks during transportation and storage due to the particularity of medicines, which must be kept at a low temperature to ensure their quality. In this regard, it is of great significance to evaluate and select drug cold chain logistics suppliers from different perspectives to ensure the quality of medicines and reduce the risks of transportation and storage. To solve such a multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem, this paper proposes an integrated model based on the combination of the SWARA (stepwise weight assessment ratio analysis) and CoCoSo (combined compromise solution) methods under the probabilistic linguistic environment. An adjustment coefficient is introduced to the SWARA method to derive criteria weights, and an improved CoCoSo method is proposed to determine the ranking of alternatives. The two methods are extended to the probabilistic linguistic environment to enhance the applicability of the two methods. A case study on the selection of drug cold chain logistics suppliers is presented to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed integrated MCDM model. The advantages of the proposed methods are highlighted through comparative analyses.

The biobank is a structure established with the goal of long-term responsible storage of biological samples and the associated data for their further use in scientific and clinical research. The objectives of biobanking are the creation of unified recommendations on: the planning of premises and the selection of equipment for storage; development of management methods and staff training; standardization of methods for the collection, shipping, processing and storage of biomaterial of various origins, as well as methods for quality control and validation of the applied methods; creation and use of databases of information accompanying biospecimens. The lack of common standards for conducting the preanalytical phase has been the cause of low accuracy and poor reproducibility of research results. To date, a large number of guidelines and best practices have been published that provide an answer to a wide range of problems in organizing the biobanking process. The article provides an overview of the most famous biobanking guidelines that can be used to solve various research problems. Biobanking in Russia is actively developing. Since 1996 there is a work on the legislative regulation of biobanking activities, as a result of which a number of regulatory documents have been issued. An important stage in the development of biobanking in Russia was the establishment of the “National Association of Biobanks and Biobanking Specialists” (NASBio) in 2018, which included representatives of medical and research institutions, commercial firms, and qualified specialists in the field of biobanking. One of the key tasks of NASBio is the adaptation and implementation of the best biobanking practices in Russian research institutes and centers. The use of modern guidelines and best practices on biobanking will lead to an increase in the quality of research and publications.

In this study, a simple, sensitive and reliable fingerprint analysis method by high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD) was developed for quality analysis of Bulbus Lilii, which is a famous traditional Chinese medicine and widely used as a restorative food. Then the developed method was subsequently applied to analyse 16 samples collected or purchased from different origins. Twelve common fingerprint peaks, including four definitely identified peaks, were found in total, and were involved for further characterisation and quality evaluation of Bulbus Lilii. The chemical quality of commercial samples collected from different origins varied obviously, indicating that more attention should be paid to the standardisation of the process of harvesting, manufacturing and storage of Bulbus Lilii. This is the first time that a new method has been established to control the quality of Bulbus Lilii through HPLC-DAD.

The objective of the present study was to investigate the effects of temperature and packaging on ergosterol and Howard mold count (HMC) changes of tomato paste during storage. The other purpose of this study was to determine whether the measurement of ergosterol stability in tomato paste can be useful for the assessment of microbiological quality of tomato paste as related to the storage temperature (4, 20, 28, or 37°C) and time. Ergosterol analysis was done by using high-performance liquid chromatography. Tomato paste samples were packaged in either aseptic bags or tin boxes and stored at 4, 20, 28, or 37°C for a period of 10 months. The detection limit of ergosterol was 0.1 mg/kg. Measurements showed that packaging and storage temperatures of 28 and 37°C have a considerable influence on ergosterol and HMC changes in the product. The poor precision of the “percentage of discarded fruits” and HMC methods has increased the importance of ergosterol for the microbiological quality evaluation of tomato and tomato products. This article reports the data from what we believe to be the first survey for the influence of storage temperature and packaging material on ergosterol and HMC changes of tomato paste during storage.

The utilisation of the horse has changed from time to time in response to human needs. For a few decades, it has been serving in several equestrian sports more intensively. It has also been proved that the standards for this kind of performance cannot be established in the way certain characteristics, such as the weight gain or milk production of other animal breeds can. Breeding horses for sporting comprises highly complex selection criteria. Some of these (e.g. external features, temperament, manageability and intelligence) do not put the breeder in a difficult position, but finding the traits that establishes the safety of sporting achievements poses a genetic problem. The performance of a horse for sports is a highly complex feature, which cannot easily be assessed or put down in figures. In addition, man plays a decisive role in shaping all kinds of performance of a horse at any given time by not only creating conditions for a better performance, but also by playing an active role in increasing it.The performance of the horse is mostly defined by its general aptitude to movement, ie., the regularity, clear rhythm and springiness of basic types of strides, as well as the ability to move in a naturally balanced way. Training and riding principles are based on these traits. These two together will determine about 70% of the value of the horse and its adequacy for high performance equestrian sports. In order to avoid subjectivity in determining the above variables and to increase the degree of objectivity, competent expert teams (trainers, judges, other riders) are employed to form an opinion on an individual animal.Assessing horse performance outside races does not seem to be efficient, as owing to the dominant effects of the environment, the indicator of inheritability is hardly above 0.1.Free jumping is an especially appropriate means for assessing a horse’s readiness and ability to move in an environment free of disturbing factors. In free jumping, it is especially important to judge the style of the jump. The first phase of jumping – as a sequence of movements – lasts from the moment the fore-feet touch the ground until the moment the hind-feet push off, while the second phase lasts from this moment until touching the ground. The most important task in the first phase is to make the angle of the dip of the body by the supporting fore-feet that is necessary for the jump. The quality of the jump is determined by the jumping and adequately expanded hind-legs. The intensity of pushing off and jumping done by the hind-legs can be inferred, and differences between individuals can be discerned from the shaping of the curve by the hocks and the paths of the pasterns in relation to the withers.

From about 1960, numerous organic materials for the transport and storage of water appeared on the market. The reasons for this were their interesting mechanical properties, and their ease of use. Nevertheless, some organic materials may cause alteration of the quality of water in contact with them, due to an inadequate inertness. In France a protocol to allow a selection of these materials was drawn up, giving primary importance to the organoleptic test. This test is the first step of control which the product must satisfy. The Centre de Recherche et de Contrôle des Eaux de Paris, who drew up these requirements tests, has at its disposal a great deal of results concerning organoleptic behaviour of all types of materials. This inertness test is followed up by global chemical analysis, a study of cytotoxicity, and the research for mineral and organic micropollutants leached into the water by the material. The controlled material must meet the requirements for the whole test.

Stucco jobs make a considerable share in the total scope of finishing construction operations. Stucco jobs represent an intricate technology involving a great number of manual operations. Mechanization of stucco operations allows reducing labor costs on their performance and increasing labor productivity. This paper is aimed at the selection of optimal workplace practices during façade stucco jobs using powered tools to treat concrete and brick surfaces of outer walls of buildings and facilities. The paper discusses organizational and technological solutions in performing façade stucco jobs including workplace management, workflow process, and equipment and tools utilized. An overview of existent powered tools for the treatment of concrete and brick surfaces is given; the results of undertaken testing of milling tools for the treatment of concrete and reinforced concrete structures are analyzed. Based on the study findings, the authors have concluded that in the improvement of productivity and quality of façade finishing jobs, a great role belongs to correct (rational) organization of labor using the straightforward segmented workflow, performance of works by specialized crews of workers, and utilization of high-performance tools and appliances. Different locations and composition of surfaces being stuccoed require different types of powered tools. The development of new prototypes and the improvement of existent powered tools for surface treatment allows increasing efficiency and reducing the cost of work. New options of star inertia mills made of different materials for powered tools equipped with a flexible roll are suggested.
