The article provides research on the qualities of Azeri oil and its light and oil fractions. A characteristic feature of Azeri oil is its high content of light fractions. This oil is light, low-sulfur, and paraffinic. Azeri oil in terms of density, sulfur content, content of light (light) fractions corresponds to marketing grades of oils and is called Azeri Light. Along with light fractions, Azeri Light oil contains up to 30-32% of oil fractions boiling above 350°C. Studies of 50°C oil fractions 350-500°C showed that the viscosity of the fractions at 100°C is in the range of 2.5-10.2 mm2/s, the viscosity index is 72-79.3, and the pour point is 12-36°С, potential content of base oils - 25.73%, their hydrocarbon composition, %: n-paraffinic oils - 50.7; isoparaffinic + naphthenic - 10.67; aromatic - 8.94%. Using traditional methods of purification using a selective solvent, followed by dewaxing and hydrotreating, from 50°C oil fractions of Azeri oil, base oils with a viscosity of 4.2-9.0 mm2/s at 100°C and a viscosity index of 91.0 can be obtained - 95.8, pour point minus 15°С / minus 20°С. By cleaning a wide oil fraction of 350-500°C, it is possible to obtain a base oil with a viscosity at 100 C of 6.5 mm2/s (SAE 20), a viscosity index of 95, a pour point of minus 15°C, an oil yield (350-500°C) is 20.3% for distillate (12.4% for oil). In terms of saturated hydrocarbons content (≥90%, sulfur content less than 0.03%), viscosity index > 90, the oil has good antioxidant properties and can be assigned to API group II.

The composition and paramagnetism of oil fractions (300-350oC), (350-400oC), (400-450oC), and (450-500oC) of West-Absheron oil were studied using IR, ESR spectroscopy and luminescence methods. In all these refineries, asphaltene radicals with a concentration of 1018spin/g are registered, which screen all paramagnetic particles present in the oil system. With the exception of the fraction (300-350oC), in which much lower than in the listed fractions, it was possible to register the spectra of metal oxides (DHwidth=117mtl, g=2.7), the spectra from aromatic hydrocarbon radicals (DНwidth=10mtl, g=2.4), which was also registered in the fr.(140-3200C) of the oil itself. The presence of these petroleum products greatly reduces the oil viscosity index. As a result of the cleaning of the latter with an ionic liquid and an adsorption method in the studied oil fractions were found in trace amounts. The increase in the viscosity index of the oil fr. (350-500oC) was increased only after the addition of a foreign Lubrizol additive concentrate. Thus, the SAE15W40 engine oil with a viscosity index of 101.2 and a low pour point (-30oC) was obtained, which is recommended as a motor oil for diesel engines.

This works presents a study on anti friction properties, of fully formulated SAE 20W 40 grade motor oil dispersed with surface modified WS2and MoS2nanoparticles. WS2and MoS2particles of 0.05 wt. % and 0.1 wt. % have been dispersed in SAE 20W 40 motor oil by Sonication and tested for tribological behavior on pin on disc apparatus as per ASTM G99 standards. The friction coefficient values for base oil and oil dispersed with WS2and MoS2nanoparticles have been evaluated and compared to obtain the performance analysis. Performance graphs have plotted for the base oil and oil dispersed with nanoparticles for comparison. The oils with dispersed nanoparticles have shown enhanced performance in comparison to the base oils in terms of anti friction properties.

Research background. Extracted from the pulp of an Amazonian fruit, buriti oil is rich in micronutrients with antioxidant properties and has high biological value. The few studies available indicate that this oil could be used in a wide range of applications; however, there are no studies that work on the improvement in the characteristics of this oilfor commercial application. The enzymatic interesterification is one of the tools available to improve the properties of oils and fats and our recent studies demonstrated that the lipase could specifically act on buriti oil to produce structured lipids rich in oleic acid, while preserving most of minority compounds present in this oil. Still looking for ways to expand applicability of this raw oil, in this recent work, we are interested in studying how is the behavior of this structured oil in nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs). Experimental approach. Samples were stored at 4 and 25 °C for 30 days and their physicochemical properties were evaluated. Results and conclusions. The results showed that the interesterification formed more unsaturated triacylglycerols (TAGs) and NLCs prepared with interesterified buriti oil presented small droplets than NLCs with original buriti oil. Particles remained stable throughout the storage period and NLCs exhibited complex polymorphism with the presence of three crystalline forms. The ORAC value was approximately 23 % higher in nanolipid carries with structured lipids in comparison with the nano lipid carriers with original buriti oil, and the FRAP value, 16 % higher, demonstrating the influence of interesterification on the antioxidant activity of nanocarriers. Thus, NLCs prepared with interesterified buriti oil exhibit smaller droplets, high stability and antioxidant capacity and have potential for nutritional and biological applications. Novelty and scientific contribution. This research showed that interesterification positively influenced the physicochemical properties of NLCs, producing oils rich in oleic acid, high stability and antioxidant capacity. Therefore, it may be interesting to use these nanocarriers to obtain efficient carrier systems for future applications.

Abstract Background: Parasite persistence, exacerbated and sustained immune response, and continuous oxidative stress have been described to contribute to the development of the cardiac manifestations in chronic Chagas disease. Nevertheless, there are no efficient therapies to resolve the Trypanosoma cruzi infection and prevent the disease progression. Interestingly, trypanocide, antioxidant, and immunodulatory properties have been reported separately for some major terpenes (citral, limonene, and caryophyllene oxide) presents in essential oils extracted from two chemotypes (Citral and Carvone) of Lippia alba. The aim of this study was to obtain L. alba essential oil fractions enriched with the aforementioned bioactive terpenes and to evaluate the impact of these therapies on trypanocide, oxidative stress, mitochondrial bioenergetics, genotoxicity, and inflammatory markers on T. cruzi-infected macrophages. Methods: T. cruzi-infected J774A.1 macrophage were treated with limonene-enriched (ACT1) and citral/caryophyllene oxide-enriched (ACT2) essential oil fractions derived from Carvone and Citral-L. alba chemotypes, respectively. Results: ACT1 and ACT2 exhibit similar trypanocidal effects to Benznidazole (BZN), against amastigotes. Synergistic antiparasitic activity was observed when ACT1 was combined with BZN or ACT2. This compound also decreased the oxidative stress, mitochondrial metabolism, and genotoxicity of the therapies. The experimental treatments (ACT1+ACT2 and ACT1+BZN) reduced the pro-inflammatory cytokines (IFN-γ, IL-2, and TNF-α), while increased the anti-inflammatories (IL-4 and IL-10).Conclusion: Due to its highly trypanocidal and immunomodulatory properties, ACT1 (whether alone or in combination with BZN or ACT2) represents a promising compound for further studies in drug development towards the Chagas disease control.

The experimental results on the synthetic oil production from Domanik Formation rocks under hydrothermal conditions are given. Oil fractions extracting potential of the rocks under hydrothermal was shown to be up to 60 mg/g or 6,0 wt.%. Inorganic additives (sodium carbonate or silica) incorporation does not influence on the oil recovery factor. Meanwhile the amount of recoverable oil products depends on the mineral composition of the rock. The dependence between the percentage of hydrocarbons emission and mineral composition of the rocks was determined. Clay minerals and silica increase the yield of synthetic oil, carbonates, conversely, inhibit the process.

The base oils must meet the high technical and ecological requirements for the raw materials used in the production of lubricants. The relevant useful properties can be obtained by mixing the vegetable oil with mineral or synthetic oil. The paper presents the results of tests of mixtures of oil obtained from Crambe Abyssinica seeds with mineral and synthetic oil. A variation of tested mixtures with regard to thermooxidative stability and antiwear properties were found. The mixtures with the most favourable properties were recommended as a base oils during the production of ecological lubricants.

By carrying out condensation reactions for alkylphenols and methylene-bis-alkylphenols with amines, alkanolamines and formaldehyde, working with boric acid and the neutralization of the obtained product with calcium hydroxide, new boron-nitrogencontaining alkylphenolate, additives have been synthesized (AKI-114B, AKI-212B, AKI-115B, AKI-210B, AKI-214B, AKI-219B).The structure of the obtained - boron esters (derivatives of phenolate) has been studied through the use of the IR spectroscopy method. Simultaneously with studying the functional properties of the synthesized additives in motor oil, it has been established that their detergent, water, corrosion, oxidation and wear resistance properties greatly overbalance the same properties of their single nitrogen-containing and industrial analogues. Through thermoanalytic research conducted on OD-102T typed derivatograph, the high stability (through to 360ºC) of additives containing boron-nitrogen has been determined. On the basis of new boron, nitrogen-containing modifications AKI-210B and AKI-115B different motor oil compositions such as M-8B, M-10G2 and etc. have been prepared and tested. The creation of high-synergy efficiency upon interaction of synthesized additives with other ones (sulfonates, dithiophosphates) has been observed, particularly in the improvement of  tribological properties, and the increase in the oxidation induction period.
