The discussion about the evaluation of the teaching of entrepreneurship or training programmes from the perspective of a higher education institution is usually linked to the quantitative impact of entrepreneurship creation and often does not take into account the increase in skills and abilities, or the evolution towards a more entrepreneurial mind-set. In this chapter, the authors propose to analyse the learning perceptions of students who participated in the Poliempreende programme of Portuguese polytechnics. The goal is to see if students feel that their participation was profitable, not only for their personal development, but also for their professional work. Within a perspective of learning in an entrepreneurship, the transformation of entrepreneurs' experiences into knowledge can influence the relationship between their professional experience and the development of their wisdom about entrepreneurship. Thus, it is proposed to implement the evaluation of the impact of the perception of these students through the evaluation model of Kirkpatrick.

\
The study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between dialogue culture of college of education students at Najran University and their psychological compatibility. In addition, it aimed to define the impact of age variable on this culture. It also tried to explore the possibility of predicting the level of these students’ psychological compatibility by variables of dialogue culture. The study instruments involved a scale for measuring university students’ dialogue culture prepared by the researchers in addition to a test for psychological compatibility prepared by Shoqir (2003). The sample consisted of all students enrolled in “Learning Disabilities” course in the second semester of the academic year 2014/2015. Findings showed a significant positive correlation (α=0.01) between students’ dialogue culture and all dimensions of their psychological compatibility. There were differences between 19-year old students group and 22-year old students group in favor of the latest due to cognitive, affectional and behavioral levels of dialogue culture. Findings also indicated that the three dimensions of dialogue culture (cognitive, affectional and behavioral) could predict the psychological compatibility levels of students of “Learning Disabilities” course at the college of education.

Purpose – This paper aims to analyse the effectiveness of the transparency policy carried out by a public university in terms of the impact on students’ satisfaction and trust. The loss of trust suffered by public institutions means that they are trying to identify the existing formulae so that this can be restored, and this includes transparency. In universities, certain changes in their situation mean that the demand for transparency policies is even greater. Design/methodology/approach – To carry out the transparency survey, data were collected using 6,180 valid questionnaires among the degree, postgraduate and continuing education students of the UNED. The statistical behaviour of the constructs included in the model was analysed by developing the structural equation model with SmartPLS. Findings – The results of this research show that transparency does have both a direct effect on trust and an indirect effect that is mediated by satisfaction. This latter indirect effect comes out stronger than the direct one. Thus, satisfaction emerges as a key factor for any research on the relationship between transparency and trust. Originality/value – This paper verifies the impact of the transparency policy on the satisfaction and trust towards a public university’s services.

Following John Heskett (2017), this paper posits that economic value cannot be defined without transcending and acknowledging the user as its source. His research presents economic theory linked to the value creation process applicable to study the value of design. This paper proposes that economic theory can be used to evaluate the impact of design when understanding and interpreting the subjective perception of value. A plan for a cross-sectional case study is explained to collect and analyze qualitative data in two stages with a means-end theory approach. This research aims to: (1) Understand the user’s perception of value, (2) Evaluate the impact of design by reflecting on economic theory and (3) Analyze the relationship between design and economics regarding economic value to contribute to the business of design. It may lead to the development of an evaluation model to guide organizations towards the creation or improvement of products, services or systems with a better understanding and a more measured perception of how users perceive value for decision-making.

Moving from conflicted situation between one’s own roles and life experiences to the synergy allows people to have greater awareness of their personal resources and to apply them in all areas of their lives. But how does this happen, in what way? How do people experience it? This is the question and objective behind the MAAM project. The research uncovers how digital innovation can build new bridges between people’s life experiences and the workplace. The research starts from the experience of motherhood, which is paradoxical in its nature – on one hand unleashes energy, strength and competencies in the woman, on the other hand it is often perceived as a condition of fragility (physical, psychological) and is not recognized as a bearer of skills at the workplace. The MAAM project is scientifically based on theories such as role accumulation, positive spillover, generativity, experiential learning and enriches them with two original views: life-based learning, that postulates that life is in itself one of the richest learning sources, and transilience, a meta-competence that identifies people’s ability to actively bring resources and skills from one life domain to another and vice versa. This is an action-research project, with the aim to investigate and simultaneously activate the development of personal resources and soft skills in people. This objective is achieved through an innovative digital platform that guides the woman in a process of self-reflection and awareness on different topics: the relationship with her identity and her own desires; the caretaking experience with the child and other people; the ways of listening, observing and empathizing and the consequences towards herself, others and the environment; the dynamics of delegation and decision making; the discovery of own “superpowers” and the reflection on the changes taking place. The research summarizes the results of the digital platform for the first 19 months and has been focused on mothers’ experience. It has the aim of investigating the impact of motherhood on the personal development and the soft skills of the women, highlighting which resources are active, which behaviours are adopted, how women perceive their roles and deal with the changes that comes with maternity. This is part of a broader framework, which has been starting to investigate / activate personal development and soft skills in fathers and whose aim is to investigate how caretaking activities trigger people’s personal development and embed them with soft skills that can be used in every area of life, including workplace.

O suicídio é atualmente uma questão social e de saúde pública mundial. No Brasil as taxas vêm aumentando gradativamente. Abstract Suicide is a global public health and social issue. The article describes the peculiarities of the process of students' adaptation to studying at a higher education institution, emphasizes the relevance of this problem in the context of the issue of training highly qualified specialists capable of effective work in the specialty at the level of world standards, ready for continuous professional improvement and personal development. The paper emphasized that the period of adaptation is a particularly important stage of studying at a higher education institution. It is particularly relevant when higher education students adapt to the content and nature of the educational process, in the period of adoption of norms and requirements of the new social environment, inclusion in the system of interpersonal relations, formation of a system of personal orientations, values, necessary for professional activity. The relationship between students' academic success and their level of adaptation to studying at a higher education institution has been identified. The results of an experimental study are presented, where the main factors of adaptation of higher education students, affecting their activity and academic success, are identified. Among these factors, the authors singled out magnitude of educational and extracurricular workload, working capacity during the school day and week, health condition, manifestation of various signs of fatigue, self-efficacy, motivation to learning, relationships with classmates and teachers, social frustration. The researchers stressed that the first-year students' adaptation period is different, depending on their individual and psychological characteristics, the level of readiness to study at a higher education institution, the correct choice of the future profession. On the basis of the results of the experimental study, the ways and directions of successful students' adaptation are determined, which foresees, first of all, the reduction of the impact of maladaptation factors on higher education students, increase in their resistance to these factors and strengthening of those factors that are favorable to them.

The purpose of the research is to investigate the management style of education establishment and its role in attaining education goals. Both theoretical and empirical research methods were used in this study. The study is based on research activities. During the study, questionnaire and test methods were applied. Questionnaire “The required knowledge, skills and personal qualities for the head of the education establishment” (Skaistkalne-Virka, 2004) in this study shows what kind of knowledge, skills and personal qualities are needed for the head of the educational establishment to possess in order to achieve the goals. Test “The head of education establishment, orientation to task or relationship with people” (Pfeiffer Jones, 1974) as an instrument has been used to explain the head of education establishment, orientation to task or relationship with people. The test revealed the type of orientation for each of educational establishment. In conclusion: that head of educational establishment, who is orientated towards the relationship with people, has democratic management style, but who is task-orientated possesses authoritative management style.

The chapter will critically examine the evolution of pedagogy from a traditional ‘blended learning' approach driven by classroom teaching with some virtual activities, to a more student driven learning experience, where the classroom activities support the learning experience. It will include the use of the ‘carpe diem' framework (Armellini & Jones, 2008) as part of a challenge to the original pedagogic approach of teacher-led learning, and the move to a student-centred pedagogy, which is more inclusive of learning technologies and the unique challenges faced by work-based learning students. This chapter will offer a critical interrogation of the relationship between the notions of traditional teaching and higher education students, with emerging learning and teaching innovations for work-based students via more rounded understanding of blended learning and will conclude that knowledge and support of the diversity of staff and student experience, skills, motivations and capabilities is critical to sustainable and effective student-led, technologically rich approaches for this diverse group of students.

The education system must respond to the demands and needs of today’s society. To meet this demand, teachers must identify the degree of cognitive skills that our students possess through digital learning strategies that encourage the development of these superior skills because of the impact of technological resources on student motivation. To carry out this assessment, two types of strategy tests were applied to evaluate cognitive skills, one determining the student’s ability to create an opinion of their own based on ideas and visions of other authors (perspective analysis) and the other strategy test to distinguish the main elements of an information, identifying a general pattern (abstraction), which were reviewed with a task performance instrument (rubrics). A mixed methodology was used through a case study, with a selected and intentional sample of 34 students of the Primary Education Grade. The results show that elaborating questions that go deeper into a topic and labelling contents is not an easy task and that abstraction is one of the most complex skills to develop in students. It should be noted that, in practically all areas, men’s averages exceed those of women. Finally, the use of digital strategies must be incorporated as permanent routines and the relationship between technology and pedagogy allows for the management of learning and therefore increases higher level cognitive abilities.
