This chapter provides a synopsis of the contemporary business environment and reviews some internal and external factors that influence enterprise planning, with particular reference to document role. Several business sectors are considered. Some of the information systems and technologies available on the market to support planning initiatives are examined. The relevance of managing documents and their content is discussed in the context of a strategic planning framework that takes into account matters such as regulatory compliance and commercial processes. Our view is that effective application of IDCM strategy cannot be undertaken unless attention is paid to the general context of an organization’s business processes and the IT environment in which they operate. Our objectives are to do the following: • Outline the enterprise business planning framework. • Consider the commercial landscape and review some of the issues that may impact on business planning. • Consider the regulatory landscape and review some of the legislative, administrative regulations, and standards that may impact on business planning. • Reflect on the IT landscape and the implications for business planning. • Discuss at a conceptual level the role of document management systems as a key enabler of business planning. • Consider the overall implications of fragmented and mismanaged document environments on business planning.

One of the challenges faced by cloud technology today is scheduling. The role of scheduling algorithms is very important, since tasks are executed by orders that may need more attention. Here, scheduling algorithms intended to minimize monetary cost and minimize makespan time to execute the workflow are presented. This study proposes cloud intelligent systems apps through an approach to cloud computing scheduling that may lead to great benefits and efficiency. The result is very promising. It showed that there are numerous applications of intelligent systems due to the more advanced hardware being built nowadays, plus business processes advancing to become smarter and more efficient in growing profitably over a destructive digital ecosystem during the COVID19 pandemic. The results indicate that intelligent systems over the cloud play a big role not just for interacting with the world helping businesses grow, but as well as in the advancement for a better tomorrow.

This article considers the features of electronic document management at retail trade enterprises of the FMCG-segment. The paper observes the types of document flow at chain companies and examines the process of implementation of electronic document management system. The notions of “electronic document management” and “electronic data interchange” are also distinguished in the article. The paper explores positive changes caused by the introduction of electronic document management and the complexity of its implementation. The study reveals that in the Russian Federation the process of mass introduction of electronic document management in the chain retail companies of the FMCG segment has been ongoing for about ten years, though has reached the highest level of its activity in the last two years. At present day, the major part of chain retail companies in the FMCG-segment has already started to actively work with the Electronic Data Interchange system. Moreover, in recent years the number of partner-enterprises that join this system has been steadily increasing. The results of the study show that introduction of electronic document management in chain companies of the FMCG-segment allows to reduce the time spent for processing documents and to track all stages of the core business processes more effectively. It also ensures information security, improves staff discipline and the quality of service, which in its turn significantly improves management efficiency of the company in general.
