With the rapid development of high-speed railways, wheel and rail wear has become increasingly serious due to the acute wheel-rail interaction. During the operation of high speed vehicle, complicated wheel-rail contact force will lead to wheel profile wear, which will worsen the dynamic performance of vehicle system, or even influence the safe operation of vehicles. In order to ensure the vehicle dynamic performance, right now regularly wheel re-profiling has to be adopted. Therefore, the study of wheel profile wear and its effect on vehicle dynamic performance is very important [1,. The purpose of the paper is to study the variation characteristics of vehicle dynamic performance with respect to the wheel profile wear through numerical simulation and field test.

Diesel fuel is necessary for farming, transport, and industrialized sector. It contributes to the wealth of the universal economy while it is widely used due to having higher flexibility, combustion efficiency, consistency and handling facilities. However, emissions from fossil fuel are considered as the main source of environmental pollution. Thus, it becomes necessary to reduce emission by improving the performance of the engines. Recently the addition of catalytic material like nanoparticles to diesel proves to be a hopeful solution to reduce emission without much modification of the existing engine design. In the present study, the influence of nanoparticles doped with diesel on the performance and emission characteristics are carried out in a naturally aspirated, single-cylinder, four-stroke, water-cooled, 3.7 kW, direct-injection compression-ignition engine is coupled with eddy current dynamometer and high-speed data acquisition system. Cerium Oxide nanoparticles are selected as the best oxygen boosting catalytic nanoparticle and it is prepared by the sol-gel process.  Nanoparticles, then doped with diesel with the help of an Ultrasonicator with different molar concentrations (5 ppm, 7.5 ppm, 10 ppm, 15 ppm). Fuel properties of nano doped fuel samples are tested and presented in this paper. The DI CI engine experimental results were found to be brake thermal efficiency is increased by 3.6% by simultaneously reducing fuel consumption by 3.63% and also harmful environmental pollution like carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbon, carbon dioxide, and smoke level are decreased by 9.11%, 6.3%, 3.12%, and 12.6% respectively compared to pure diesel. It may be due to the enhanced surface to volume ratio, catalytic activity and improving the mixing rate of fuel and air in the combustion chamber.

After the reform and opening up, with the rapid development of economy and science and technology, high-tech products such as high-speed railway, train, aircraft, missile and rocket appear in response to the times. As people’s living standards develop, they have a high consumption demand towards energy. For example, coal gas and natural gas take the place of firewood, and various new energy such as wind energy, tidal energy and solar energy emerge. China is now seeing a rapid industrialization. Although the amount of China’s energy is large, the rigid demand of energy remains tense in supply and demand. Relatively speaking, China has a high energy external dependence, thus a series of measures were launched such as greatly advocating the implementation of new energy and reducing the exploitation quantity of coal properly. This paper will analyze the import and export data of various kinds of energy from 2015 to 2019 and calculate the external dependence level in 2019. After analyzing the current situation in China and consulting the national policies and information, the author will put forward suggestions on the current situation of China’s energy.

There has been an extensive worldwide search for alternate fuels that fit with the existing infrastructure and would thus displace fossil-based resources. In metabolic engineering work at Argonne National Laboratory, strains of fuel have been designed that can be produced in large quantities by photosynthetic bacteria, eventually producing a heavy alcohol called phytol (C20H40O). Phytol’s physical and chemical properties (cetane number, heat of combustion, heat of vaporization, density, surface tension, vapor pressure, etc.) correspond in magnitude to those of diesel fuel, suggesting that phytol might be a good blending agent in compression ignition (CI) engine applications. The main reason for this study was to investigate the feasibility of using phytol as a blending agent with diesel; this was done by comparing the performance and emission characteristics of different blends of phytol (5%, 10%, 20% by volume) with diesel. The experimental research was performed on a single-cylinder engine under conventional operating conditions. Since phytol’s viscosity is much higher than that of diesel, higher-injection-pressure cases were investigated to ensure the delivery of fuel into the combustion chamber was sufficient. The influence of the fuel’s chemical composition on performance and emission characteristics was captured by doing an injection timing sweep. Combustion characteristics as shown in the cylinder pressure trace were comparable for the diesel and all the blends of phytol at each of the injection timings. The 5% and 10% blends show lower CO and similar NOx values. However, the 20% blend shows higher NOx and CO emissions, indicating that the chemical and physical properties have been altered substantially at this higher percentage. The combustion event was depicted by performing high-speed natural luminosity imaging using endoscopy. This revealed that the higher in-cylinder temperatures for the 20% blend are the cause for its higher NOx emissions. In addition, three-dimensional simulations of transient, turbulent nozzle flow were performed to compare the injection and cavitation characteristics of phytol and its blends. Specifically, area and discharge coefficients and mass flow rates of diesel and phytol blends were compared under corresponding engine operating conditions. The conclusion is that phytol may be a suitable blending agent with diesel fuel for CI applications.
