Because the solder residue was found in the manufacturing process which greatly affected the product quality, the purpose of this paper was to make the product quality improved and to find an optimal solution for process parameters in the flip chip process. The experimental testing was based on SMT manufacturing process. The amount and size of solder left on passive component in the process of manufacturing were considered as the quality traits. Since too many solders left on the passive component side during flux cleaning process, it was possible that the balling would be flowed into the chip, which caused the bump short in the chip and affected the quality of the product. In this paper, orthogonal array by using Taguchi method is adopted as the effective experimental method with the least experimental runs. Also, based on the quality evaluation of signal-to-noise ratio, the ANOVA is used to evaluate the effects of quality target according to the experimental results. The results reveal that the optimization in the process is confirmed. Therefore, this study can effectively improve the solder residue in semiconductor manufacturing process.

A fin heat exchanger is a simple form of cooling device that is built for efficient heat transfer from one medium to another. Generally, it involves medium such as fluid to perform heat exchange via convective heat transfer. This study is aimed at investigating the effects of diverse designs (arrangements of the fins), qualities (the total surface area of the fin for heat exchange) and conditions (the surface characteristics) of fin heat exchanger on the degree of heat transfer from the experimental perspective. The fin heat exchanger was fabricated and tested. It was observed that by varying the arrangement and condition of the fins, the rate of heat transfer could be affected. However, varying the quality of the fin didn’t have much impact. Nevertheless, the quality aspect of the fin heat exchanger could play a significant role for heat exchanger of larger in scale and dimension. The coating, that is the condition of the fins, aided in decreasing the temperature at a much higher margin at all fan speeds.

Abstract This paper concerns the issues of measurement techniques, analysis and assessment of the machined surface geometric structure. The aim of this work was to show the application of surface analysis in diagnosing the causes of discrepancies occurring in the manufacturing process, which may result from ill-matched (poorly fitting) process parameters. An appropriate system of control and interpretation of results may allow early reaction to unfavorable trends (for example blunting of the tool) and prevention of undesirable defects. The subject of research was a waste basket used in the construction of retaining sewer systems. In this paper, the quality of the waste basket as well as its manufacturing process were analyzed and assessed. The research was carried out with the use of three measurement stands, i.e. optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and white light interferometer (WLI). The surface analysis proved to be important from the viewpoint of outlining the production process as well as improving the product quality. The software used for topographical analysis appeared to be significant for the success of the analysis, providing notable economic effects, namely the lack of defects.

This paper presents the entropy generation (irreversibility) concept as a convenient method for estimating the quality of the heat exchange process in heat exchanger analysis. The entropy generation caused by finite temperature differences, scaled by the maximum possible entropy generation that can exist in an open system with two fluids, is used as the quantitative measure of the quality of energy transformation (the heat exchange process). This measure is applied to a two-fluid heat exchanger of arbitrary flow arrangement. The influence of different parameters (inlet temperature ratio, fluid flow heat capacity rate ratio, flow arrangements) and the heat exchanger thermal size (number of heat transfer units) on the quality of energy transformation for different types of heat exchangers is discussed. In this analysis it is assumed that the contribution of fluid friction to entropy generation is negligible.

The progress of the Islamic bank cannot be separated from the role of its customers who give trust to the bank to deposit their financial assets. It is a fact many groups of customers decide to be the customers of the Islamic bank because of their religiosity. The other influences factor of a customer’s decision is the quality of the product. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of product quality and level of customers’ religiosity towards customers’ decision whether to keep their funds in Syariah Mandiri Bank, Branch of Purwokerto, or not. The analytical tool used was multiple linear regression analysis, with a sample of 100 customers. The results indicate Y = 5,046 + 0,101X1 + 0,218X2. Based on F, it can be seen that both variables of product quality and religiosity simultanously affect the customers’ decision to keep theirfunds in BSM Branch of Purwokerto. Based on t test, it can be seen that independently, either variable of product quality or variables of religiosityinfluences the customers’ decision to keep their funds in BSM Branch of Purwokerto.

This paper is an attempt to assess if the manufacturing process of paper machine is in statistical control thereby improving the quality of paper being produced in a paper industry at the time of process itself. Quality is the foremost criteria for achieving the business target. Therefore, emphasis was made on controlling the quality of paper at the time of manufacturing process itself, rather than checking the finished lots at a later time.  This control on quality will help the industry deduct the small shift in the process parameters and modify the operating characteristics at the time of production itself rather than receiving complaints from customers at a later stage.  This paper describes controlling quality at the time of manufacture itself and helps the industry to concentrate on quality at low cost. The researcher has collected primary data at a leading paper industry during October, 2019.  Though X-bar and Range charges were primarily used, CUSUM charts were used to sense the minor shifts in manufacturing process, to explore the possibility of adjusting process parameters during manufacture of paper.
