Because the solder residue was found in the manufacturing process which greatly affected the product quality, the purpose of this paper was to make the product quality improved and to find an optimal solution for process parameters in the flip chip process. The experimental testing was based on SMT manufacturing process. The amount and size of solder left on passive component in the process of manufacturing were considered as the quality traits. Since too many solders left on the passive component side during flux cleaning process, it was possible that the balling would be flowed into the chip, which caused the bump short in the chip and affected the quality of the product. In this paper, orthogonal array by using Taguchi method is adopted as the effective experimental method with the least experimental runs. Also, based on the quality evaluation of signal-to-noise ratio, the ANOVA is used to evaluate the effects of quality target according to the experimental results. The results reveal that the optimization in the process is confirmed. Therefore, this study can effectively improve the solder residue in semiconductor manufacturing process.

Since the solder residue is essential in the semiconductor manufacturing process, it has great impact on the flip chip quality considerably. This paper intends to improve the flip chip quality and try to obtain an optimal solution for the system parameters in the flip chip manufacturing process. The SMT manufacturing process is studied for discussion. The amount of solder and the size of solder are selected as the two quality properties. During the flux cleaning process, many solders are left on the passive component side. The balling might flow into the chip. It will cause the bump short in the chip which will affect the quality of the flip chip severely. In this paper, response surface method is adopted as the design of experiments. The objective function and subjective constrained conditions are defined to formulate the optimization problem. The confirmation experimental results are also provided to prove the validity. It is believed that the optimization results are helpful to the improvement of the semiconductor manufacturing process.

This paper uses the Taguchi method on the tolerance design of a hinge mechanism with the aim of obtaining a design that is insensitive to variations in manufacturing tolerance and joint clearance. The contribution of each control factor in the mechanism to the variations was also quantified. From the analysis of the response table and diagram, it was concluded that the dimension r1, r2, r4 and β had a significant effect on the quality of the mechanism, contributing a total of 82.36% to product variation and were consequently named the key dimensions. The tolerance of these factors must therefore be tightened to improve the quality of the mechanism. Through a series of confirmation experiments, it was revealed that tightening the tolerance resulted in an increase in the S/N (signal to noise) ratio by 1.851 db and a reduction in product variation by 19.25% from the original 80.75%. The proposed method does not require complex mathematical derivatives, but simply the input and output relationship of the system. The method proposed in this study can be applied to all types of mechanism.

Abstract This paper concerns the issues of measurement techniques, analysis and assessment of the machined surface geometric structure. The aim of this work was to show the application of surface analysis in diagnosing the causes of discrepancies occurring in the manufacturing process, which may result from ill-matched (poorly fitting) process parameters. An appropriate system of control and interpretation of results may allow early reaction to unfavorable trends (for example blunting of the tool) and prevention of undesirable defects. The subject of research was a waste basket used in the construction of retaining sewer systems. In this paper, the quality of the waste basket as well as its manufacturing process were analyzed and assessed. The research was carried out with the use of three measurement stands, i.e. optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and white light interferometer (WLI). The surface analysis proved to be important from the viewpoint of outlining the production process as well as improving the product quality. The software used for topographical analysis appeared to be significant for the success of the analysis, providing notable economic effects, namely the lack of defects.

The progress of the Islamic bank cannot be separated from the role of its customers who give trust to the bank to deposit their financial assets. It is a fact many groups of customers decide to be the customers of the Islamic bank because of their religiosity. The other influences factor of a customer’s decision is the quality of the product. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of product quality and level of customers’ religiosity towards customers’ decision whether to keep their funds in Syariah Mandiri Bank, Branch of Purwokerto, or not. The analytical tool used was multiple linear regression analysis, with a sample of 100 customers. The results indicate Y = 5,046 + 0,101X1 + 0,218X2. Based on F, it can be seen that both variables of product quality and religiosity simultanously affect the customers’ decision to keep theirfunds in BSM Branch of Purwokerto. Based on t test, it can be seen that independently, either variable of product quality or variables of religiosityinfluences the customers’ decision to keep their funds in BSM Branch of Purwokerto.

Abstract In this paper the use of a set of nonlinear edge-preserving filters is proposed as a pre-processing stage with the purpose to improve the quality of hyperspectral images before object detection. The capability of each nonlinear filter to improve images, corrupted by spatially and spectrally correlated Gaussian noise, is evaluated in terms of the average Improvement factor in the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (IPSNR), estimated at the filter output. The simulation results demonstrate that this pre-processing procedure is efficient only in case the spatial and spectral correlation coefficients of noise do not exceed the value of 0.6

This paper is an attempt to assess if the manufacturing process of paper machine is in statistical control thereby improving the quality of paper being produced in a paper industry at the time of process itself. Quality is the foremost criteria for achieving the business target. Therefore, emphasis was made on controlling the quality of paper at the time of manufacturing process itself, rather than checking the finished lots at a later time.  This control on quality will help the industry deduct the small shift in the process parameters and modify the operating characteristics at the time of production itself rather than receiving complaints from customers at a later stage.  This paper describes controlling quality at the time of manufacture itself and helps the industry to concentrate on quality at low cost. The researcher has collected primary data at a leading paper industry during October, 2019.  Though X-bar and Range charges were primarily used, CUSUM charts were used to sense the minor shifts in manufacturing process, to explore the possibility of adjusting process parameters during manufacture of paper.

A two Level Image Quality enhancement is proposed in this paper. In the first level, Dualistic Sub-Image Histogram Equalization DSIHE method decomposes the original image into two sub-images based on median of original images. The second level deals with spikes shaped noise that may appear in the image after processing. We presents three methods of image enhancement GHE, LHE and proposed DSIHE that improve the visual quality of images. A comparative calculations is being carried out on above mentioned techniques to examine objective and subjective image quality parameters e.g. Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio PSNR values, entropy H and mean squared error MSE to measure the quality of gray scale enhanced images. For handling gray-level images, convenient Histogram Equalization methods e.g. GHE and LHE tend to change the mean brightness of an image to middle level of the gray-level range limiting their appropriateness for contrast enhancement in consumer electronics such as TV monitors. The DSIHE methods seem to overcome this disadvantage as they tend to preserve both, the brightness and contrast enhancement. Experimental results show that the proposed technique gives better results in terms of Discrete Entropy, Signal to Noise ratio and Mean Squared Error values than the Global and Local histogram-based equalization methods
