The use of hydrogen peroxide and hydrazine sulfate for the treatment of chrome-containing rinsing waters of galvanic production of machine-building enterprises is proposed. The process of reducing chromium (6+) to (3+) from rinsing waters with a concentration of 8.55 mg/dm3 was studied. These reagents allow reducing more than 99% of chromium (6+) to chromium (3+) and maintaining a low salt content of treated wastewater. The consumption of hydrogen peroxide is 1.5 mg/dm3, and the consumption of hydrazine sulfate is 10 mg/dm3. The current situation in the treatment of galvanic wastewater leads to pollution of the environment with dangerous substances (CN-, Cr6+, F-, Cd2+), irrational use of raw materials and significant economic losses. The possibility of extracting valuable components from wastewater, in order to recycle them and return the treated water to production, is considered. Hydrogen peroxide is effective for treating acidic wastewater, and hydrazine sulfate can be used for both acidic and alkaline wastewater. Removal of excess hydrogen peroxide from the solution after reduction of chromium (6+) before precipitation of chromium (3+) hydroxide is required. The toxicity of hydrazine compounds must be taken into account.

Abstract Objective: The objective is to analyze Danish consumers’ attitudes to buying food with reduced salt content. Design: The study is based on a comprehensive store intervention that included 114 stores belonging to the same supermarket chain. Three different salt claims were tested for eight weeks on six test products within the categories bread, cornflakes and frozen pizzas. Scanner data were supplemented with 134 brief interviews with consumers in nine selected stores. Setting: Stores spread across Denmark. Participants: Consumers who buy food in the stores. Results: Statistical regression analyses of the scanner data indicated that none of the three claims significantly affected demand for any of the test products. The interviews confirmed that many consumers were more focused on other elements of the official dietary advice than reduced salt consumption, such as eating plenty of vegetables, choosing products with whole grains and reducing their intake of sugar and fat. Conclusions: Overall, both the scanner data and the interviews pointed in the same direction, toward the conclusion that salt content is often a secondary factor when Danish consumers make dietary choices.

In recent years, hydrogen peroxide and nitrous oxide (1) "green oxidants" – have attracted much attention of researchers as a selective oxidizing agent for the catalytic oxidation of pyridine bases. In this regard, the reaction of pyridine oxidation by hydrogen peroxide and nitrous oxide under homogeneous conditions, in the gas phase, without the use of catalysts, at atmospheric pressure, has been experimentally investigated. Areas of selective oxidation of pyridine with hydrogen peroxide and nitrous oxide have been established, and optimal conditions have been found for obtaining valuable raw materials required in the petrochemical, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries

Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae is the causal agent of porcine pleuropneumonia, a highly contagious and often deadly respiratory disease that causes major economic losses in the swine industry worldwide. The aim of the present study was to investigate the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)-dependent antagonistic activity of Streptococcus pluranimalium 2N12 (pig nasal isolate) against A. pleuropneumoniae. A fluorimetric assay showed that S. pluranimalium produces H2O2 dose- and time-dependently. The production of H2O2 increased in the presence of exogenous lactate, suggesting the involvement of lactate oxidase. All 20 strains of A. pleuropneumoniae tested, belonging to 18 different serovars, were susceptible to H2O2, with minimal inhibitory concentrations and minimal bactericidal concentrations ranging from 0.57 to 2.3 mM. H2O2, as well as a culture supernatant of S. pluranimalium, killed planktonic cells of A. pleuropneumoniae. Treating the culture supernatant with catalase abolished its bactericidal property. H2O2 was also active against a pre-formed biofilm-like structure of A. pleuropneumoniae albeit to a lesser extent. A checkerboard assay was used to show that there were antibacterial synergistic interactions between H2O2 and conventional antibiotics, more particularly ceftiofur. Based on our results and within the limitations of this in vitro study, the production of H2O2 by S. pluranimalium could be regarded as a potential protective mechanism of the upper respiratory tract against H2O2-sensitive pathogens such as A. pleuropneumoniae.

Nowadays countries are focused on the development of high-techology industries, which will allow them to increase their competitiveness. However, Russia specializes in the export of raw materials and goods with a low degree of processing. In this regard, one of the key aims of Russia is to develop high-technoligy production and expand its presence in the markets of goods with a high degree of processing. The abstract reveals the export of high-technology goods and services. The article analyzes position of the Russian Federation in the world market of high-technology goods and services. Russia specializes in the export of such high-technology goods as aerospace production, nuclear technologies and weapons. Russia specializes in the export of such high-technology services as telecommunications, computer and information services, professional and consulting services, engineering services, services in technical fields and in the field of architecture. Special attention is paid to the promising directions of high-technology exports, the importers of Russian high-technology products and trends in exports and imports of high-technology goods as well as trends in exports of high-technology services. For example, Russia should develop exports of such high-technology goods as jet engines, nuclear reactors and their components, fuel rods, nuclear technologies and weapons. The most promising export directions from the machine-building industry are vehicles and equipment production. Russia should focus on the export of such high-technology services as information, telecommunications, computers, professional and consulting services. To stimulate the export of these services, it is necessary to create a favorable business climate in Russia, eliminate the shortage of specialists in the field of ICT, as well as improve the quality of their training.

AbstractIntroductionDespite the well-documented health benefits of a dietary pattern higher in plant-based food such as legumes, their consumption remains low. Knowing that taste is the first factor in consumers’ food choice, flavoring of legumes using blends of herbs and spices (H&S) is an interesting approach to increase their consumption. This study examines the effect of H&S on the appreciation and energy intake of low salt legume-based dishes in a real context ecological environment.Materials and MethodsA 2-step pilot testing was designed to determine the most favorable recipe between 4 different blends of H&S. Firstly, 4 recipes were evaluated in a balanced order of presentation using different blends of legumes (chickpeas and lentils) and H&S by 115 participants (age 18–35) in an experimental restaurant. Overall liking was measured, followed by a preference-ranking test. Secondly, a perception assessment test was performed (n = 54) with the preferred recipe being divided into 4 variants higher (S) or lower in salt (LS) and H&S (S, LS, LSHS, SHS), according to a 2×2 factorial design (2-AFC test). In a randomized cross-over trial, 94 participants (age 18–35) attended 4 sessions 1 week apart and received the 4 variants as a mezze-type starter. Overall liking, food intake and appetite ratings (VAS) were assessed before and after the starter, main dish and dessert during lunch.ResultsParticipants significantly preferred the Spinach recipe compared with the Ginger, Paprika and Curcuma recipes and they could easily determine the different levels for salt and spices (t-test 5%). There were no significant differences in overall liking and taste between the different levels of salt and spiciness, although Principal Component Analysis showed 55% of the participants rating higher scores for the H&S recipes. Similarly, there were no differences in energy intake between S, LS, LSHS, SHS or total energy intake of the complete lunch. There was no difference in the ratings of hunger, desire to eat and prospective consumption although fullness was significantly higher followed by the S compared with LSHS (P < 0.005).DiscussionOverall appreciation was similar after the addition of H&S in low-salt starter to the high-salt starters, implying that reducing salt content without compromising acceptance is a feasible strategy at an ecological setting. However, there was no difference in energy intake of the four variants and overall appetite ratings. Further analysis, on interindividual differences in terms of eating behavior and acceptance, seems prudent.

Tomatoes are among the most important horticultural crops; however, it is estimated that 30% of tomato yield is lost due to postharvest rot due to Rhizopus stolonifer, a fungus which requires lesions to initiate the infectious process. Tomato fruit cracking is a physiopathy which causes significant economic losses, since cracking is the door used by the fungus. In this experiment, 14 cultivars of tomato of different types were used. Fruit sampling was carried out in the middle of the crop cycle, coinciding with the peak of yield; then, the fruits were divided into two groups: one group was inoculated with Rhizopus in order to assess the effectiveness of washing, whilst the other was treated with sterile water. The fruits of each group were divided into lots to be treated with six washing treatments: dipping in hot water at 20, 40 and 60 °C for 20 s; the fruits were then sprayed with the following solutions: 0.6% of Hydrogen Peroxide 23% + Peracetic acid 15%; commercial bleach at 0.5% and 2% of Hydrogen Peroxide 50%. The control sample was not washed. The results show that there was an influence of cultivar on fruit cracking, which was strongly related with Rhizopus infection. Three cultivars were not susceptible to cracking, and therefore, were not sensitive to Rhizopus infection. The effectiveness of different washing treatments of tomato fruits depends on several factors; nonetheless, hot water treatment has been shown to be more effective than the use of chemical products such as commercial bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Another factor, the susceptibility of cultivars to cracking, determines the effectiveness of the washing treatment. The results provide an important basis for making decisions about the washing management of tomato fruits in packaging houses.

Abstract Thirty collaborators participated in a study of the use of oxygen flask combustion for the microdeterminations of bromine, chlorine, and iodine in organic compounds. Generally, there was little difference in the precision of the various methods. Argentometric titration gave better results than did iodometric titration only in the case of bromine. The use of hydrazine sulfate gave better results in the case of iodine than when it was omitted; the same held true for hydrogen peroxide. It is recommended that the study be continued.

In order to solve the problems of wax deposit, this study evaluated the effect of wax cleaning agent used in Changqing and adjusted its formulation. The results showed that the wax removal rate of oil based dewaxing agent was slightly higher than that of emulsion dewaxing agent for crude oil with low salt content. It is possible that the emulsion dewaxing agent contains a certain amount of mutual solvents, which improves its wetting ability at the oil-water interface and makes the oil and water dissolve each other. So that the wax deposit surface from hydrophilic hydrophobic to hydrophilic hydrophobic, forming anti-wax film to prevent wax deposition. Therefore, the wax removal ability of 1#, 3# oil wax is higher than that of oil base wax dewaxing agent.

In recent years, one of the brands of Ukraine has been amber. This is important for our country, because in the world thefashion for amber jewelry is preserved for centuries. Amber is constantly studied, all its new natural properties, consumerqualities are opened. Amber and products of its processing are now widely used in medicine, pharmaceuticals, perfumery, machine building, chemical, furniture, food improvement, food industry and agriculture. Worldwide the demand for amber raw materials is rising and so are the prices. Today, the industry is rapidly developing in Ukraine ("amber"), which includes theexploration, extraction and processing of amber. The development of the "amber" industry in Ukraine has caused a wholecomplex of interconnected problems. They (as well as the industry as a whole) are now the object of national security of thecountry. The only integrated national development program is one of them. The legislative basis for the development of the amber sphere is generally present in Ukraine, yet the matter of normativelegalhas not been finalized yet. The main issue in the development of the amber sphere in Ukraine is the limitation of the basis ofraw materials. In spite of the great demand and potentially great stock, Ukraine is not ready to access the world marketsascertain significant income in foreign currency. The broadening of the raw material base in the amber sphere is currentlyongoing in Ukraine by extraction in the already known sources and the opening of new ones. The second way is the strategic onewhich will determine the development of the amber sphere for the years to come. Its basis should be formed by the forecastsearching system of amber, the systematic methodology and comprehensive methods of research.
