This study aims to determine whether Thematic Vocabulary (TV) Cards media can improve the vocabulary of students in primary school. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher designed an action research which consisted of pre-test, 3 cycles of treatment, and post-test. The subject of this study was the students of SMK N 1 Lhokseumawe, with the number of the subject was 26 students; 9 males and 17 females. 2 meetings were held during the research in which the students had to join  test and also cycles of treatment which consisted of quizzes and various activities by using TV Cards as the media. which used the Sugiyono’s model (2016:298) with adaptation. The data collecting through interview, questionnaire, documentation, and test. The result of this study showed there was a significant improvement made by the students in identifying and remembering new English vocabulary available in the given descriptive texts. Pre- test result showed 27 % of students scored less than 50; 69 % students scored 51- 75; and only the rest of them scored more than 76, meaning that the average score of the class was still low, which was only 54.10. After conducting Post- test, it could be seen that no student scored less than 50; only one student scored 73; and the rest of them successfully scored above 76. Compared to Pre- Test’s result, the Post- Test’s showed the better average score, which increased up to 79%. In line with the result, Some suggestions are offered for teachers to be a facilitator in creating effective learning activities, to be able to make teaching and learning process more interesting, enjoyable and educative.

BackgroundCreating a conducive environment for learning cultivates engaged and independent learners, allowing for high-level learning (Warren, 2004). When assessing the diverse Psychology courses that exist, the evaluation of Research Methods (RM) teaching and its associated pedagogies is high on the agenda of college based Higher Education (Burton & Schonfield, 2011). ObjectiveThis study aimed at exploring what range of teaching and learning activities (TLA’s) promote effective learning of RM among Psychology students. Additionally, it aimed to understand, from a student perspective, what ‘effective learning’ meant in the context of RM. MethodA mixed methods approach comprising of both surveys as well as focus groups was conducted with undergraduate Psychology students. Thematic analysis and basic frequencies were used to analyse data. Results Results demonstrated that both student and teacher-led activities were beneficial and worked complementarily for students in their understanding of the subject whilst serving different purposes. Practical labs and class exercises were the top activities highlighted (student-led) followed by lectures and flow chart concept checks (teacher-led). Furthermore, ‘effective learning’ encapsulated not just a long-term knowledge acquisition of concepts but the ability to apply one’s knowledge to the wider context. Conclusion and teaching implication Findings are in line with the Conception of Learning which has a nested hierarchy consisting of both surface learning elements and deep learning (Marton,Dall’Alba & Beaty, 1993). RM has been identified as a difficult subject to teach as well for students to learn (Gray et al., 2015) and as a result this study teases apart some of the most beneficial techniques from a student perspective to be considered when designing the structure and delivery of RM courses.

In the curriculum informatics engineering program of South Aceh Polytechnic, functiom derivative is taught in the second semester. The derivative function is a mathematics concept who does manipulation toward a function, thus the function slope can be obtained quantitatively on the slanted point. The derivative function material is one of the difficult material faced by the students. Accordingly, the implementation of a learning model is a good thing to create students' interest on the subject. And the media also use to support teaching and learning process as software maple. The purpose of this research is to find out the students’ results who have taught by quantum teaching and also maple on derivative function and the students who have taught by conventional method, and also to know the students' responses after taught by quantum teaching and software maple on derivative material. Experimental method is used in this research by designing pre-test and post-test and control groups. The population is all of the second semester informatics engineering's students at South Aceh Polytechnic where they divided into two classes. The technique in gaining data is using two tests, they are written and questionnaire test. The result of data is analyzed by T-test, and questionnaire is analyzed by calculating the average scores which have set by Likert-scale. Research found that t-score > t-table that is 2.41>1,69. This showed that, the students' score on derivative material taught by quantum teaching by adopting media maple is better than the students' score taught by conventional method at informatics engineering of South Aceh Polytechnic. As for the students' responses, gainned the average of a proposed statements is 3.52. According to the specified criterias, the researcher concludes that the students' responses toward the implementation of quantum teaching by software maple on derivative function is very positive.

This study is the use of English animation movie as a media in teaching speaking through e-learning process, and it is intended to improve the speaking ability of the students. The methodology used is classroom action research and SMA Keberbakatan Olahraga Negeri (SMAKON) Aceh as a research subject. The source of the data in this study is from the communication between teacher and students in teaching and learning process through e-learning. The instruments are used observation and test. The data observation is analyzed by using qualitative method and the data from the test is analyzed by using quantitative method. In the pre-test result, there are only 1 student who complete pre-test from the total 4 students who followed pre-test. The percentage is still under the predictive criteria, specifically ? 80% from the average score of students that is ? 65. Meanwhile, the post-test shown that all four students got exhaustive score with the percentage reached 50% and the score average reached 50. It means that X IPS-1 student’s improving speaking by using animation movie on e-Learning process at SMAKON is in good category. On the observation result of X IPS-1 students’ improving speaking on e-Learning process improves. Before the researcher implemented animation movie, the percentage only reached 25%, either student’s improving on e-Learning process or students’ activity during teaching and learning process. Then, the percentage increased to 100% for students’ improving speaking on e-Learning process and 83.75% for students’ activity during teaching and learning process after animation movie has implemented.

ABSTRACT   This research aims to improve the Arabic reading skills of fourth grade of SDIT Segar Amanah students through the Look and Say technique. The subjects of this research were 32 students of fourth grade SDIT Segar Amanah. This research used a Classroom Action Research method with a model from Kemmis and Mc Taggart which consisted of planning, acting and observing, and reflecting throughout 2 cycles. The data was collected using test and observation guidelines for teaching and learning activities and observation guidelines for teacher and student. This research shows that the Look .and Say technique can improve students' reading skills in Arabic with the difference in the results of the pre-test, post-test cycle 1 and post-test cycle 2 with the class average score in the pre-test is 49.5.  Then the average score results in the post test cycle 1 was 67.2 and the result of the class average score in the post-test 2 was 78.3. Visualization capabilities is a very important skill in mathematics learning. Having a better visualization capabilities students will understand the subject matter well, particularly in geometry material as the material within the geometry. But the fact that the school found that the visualization capabilities of students is still low. One effort to improve visualization upon ability students is to develop media based interactive mathematics constructivism. The purpose of this development is to produce a valid instructional media, practical and effective. This development research uses a Plomp model consisting of three phases namely: preliminary, prototyping, and assessment. Subjects were students of class X SMAN 1 Koto XI Tarusan. The results of validity of media based interactive learning constructivist mathematics have valid criteria in content and construct. Media Learning has met the criteria of practical because it can be done well in learning activities. Media effective learning has met the criteria for being able to increase the activity of student learning and mastery learning outcomes over a predetermined classical completeness. Thus, it can be concluded that the media based interactive learning constructivist mathematics was valid, practical and effective.

ABSTRACT Since the COVID-19 pandemic has spread widely, universities must adjust their curriculum programs to an online system that is supported by various existing media. One of the media that is often used is the Zoom Meeting application. STAI Ali Bin Abi Talib as one of the universities in the field of education that implements an online system in its program during this pandemic has also used the Zoom Meeting application in its learning activities. However, so far the implementation of the Zoom meeting application as an official medium on campus that is used many times for teaching and learning, there has been no evaluation, especially regarding Hiwar's courses. This evaluation is a study that aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Zoom application program in the Hiwar course. This evaluation is also to find out what problems can be revealed while using this application program. This research is a descriptive field research through a qualitative approach with interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The research results obtained are, (1) The online learning system using the Zoom Meeting Application, especially the Hiwar subject, is literally effective, judging from the percentage of correspondence, the learning program is very well implemented, the level of activeness and understanding of students in the subject matter gets an assessment of around 91.7%. The learning evaluation was carried out well by Zoom Meeting and achieved a rsting around 86.1% (2) there are still many other obstacles in using this program, especially regarding the limited internet quota, signals, gadgets, and an unsupported environmental system. Keywords: Effectiveness, Zoom Application, Hiwar course.     ABSTRAK Sejak tersebarnya pandemi Covid-19 banyak perguruan tinggi harus menyelenggarakan pendidikan melalui sistem daring dengan berbagai media yang ada. Salah satu media yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran daring adalah aplikasi Zoom Meeting. STAI Ali bin Abi Thalib sebagai salah satu lembaga perguruan tinggi yang menerapkan sistem daring juga menggunakan aplikasi Zoom Meeting dalam kegiatan pembelajarannya. Namun semenjak diterapkannya secara resmi oleh kampus sebagai aplikasi yang digunakan untuk kegiatan belajar mengajar, belum ada evaluasi ulang terkait penerapannya pada pembelajaran mata kuliah Hiwar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan aplikasi zoom dalam pembelajaran mata kuliah Hiwar dan mengetahui probmelatika yang terjadi di dalamnya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan angket. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa (1) Penggunaan aplikasi zoom untuk pembelajaran mata kuliah Hiwar di STAI Ali bin Abi Thalib berjalan efektif. Hal tersebut berdasarkan nilai persentase jawaban responden pada baiknya pelaksanaan pembelajaran, tingkat keaktifan mahasiswa, dan tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi kuliah yang masing-masing sebanyak 91,7%, serta penilaian baik pada proses pelaksanaan evaluasi pembelajaran dengan aplikasi zoom sebanyak 86,1%. (2) Masih didapati problematika pada pembelajaran mata kuliah Hiwar dengan aplikasi zoom, di antaranya adalah kendala pada kuota, sinyal, gadget, serta problematika lingkungan pembelajaran yang kurang mendukung. Memorizing formulas is one of the essentials tasks in learning activities. There are many formulas that have been constructed by previous researchers. The formulas developed have their own purpose such as to calculate, to estimate, to analyse and so on. One of the fields that involve more than a hundred formulas is in the education field. In education area, especially for mathematics subjects, students need to memorize the formula to let them easily get the answer to some of the questions given. In UiTM Perak Tapah Campus, there is one subject that requires students to memorize more than twenty formulas. The subject namely the Foundation of Applied Mathematics which is taken by part three students in the Faculty of Applied Sciences. In previous semester, the failure rate for this subject is increasing and always be the top issue by top management. In this paper, the effectiveness of formula extracted from the given Appendix (FEFA) techniques is discussed. FEFA is one of the tools which will help students to reduce the total number in memorizing the formula.  Primary data were gathered using the Quizizz application among 81 students who are taking MAT238 in the semester September-December 2019. The data was analysed by mixed design analysis to assess the effectiveness between pre-workshop and post-workshop. FEFA is found to be one of the good mechanisms to assist students in learning activities.

The problems examined are: 1) the description of the learning activities of students 2) Description of activity teaching teacher 3) increase in the results of the study. The research aims to 1) Describe student learning activities, 2) Describes the activity of teaching teachers. 3) Determine the increase in the results of the study. This type of research is Research Action class (RAA) which has been implemented 2 cycle. The subject of this research students are registered on the even-numbered year semester lesson 2016/2017 amounted to 23 people. The data source of this research activity is to teach teachers and learning activities of students obtained from the observation sheet and the results of learning as measured through tests. The data type used is the quantitative and qualitative. The results showed that 1) learning activities at each cycle tends to increase. This is demonstrated by average score on each cycle, on cycle I average score activity students are increasing at 2.7 cycle II be 3.2. cycle I  2) on average score 2.7 teacher teaching activity is increased in cycle II be 3.2. Learning Outcome 3) geography enhanced through Contextual learning model of Teaching And Learning (CTL). On cycle I students who complete 12 (52.2%) and not completely and absolutely no 9 (33,33%) with an average of 66 while on the second cycle was increased to 19 (83%) of students who completely and 4 (17%) students do not complete an average of 78.17.

To master English, students must learn many things, including about grammar in order to use English properly and correctly. There are a number of ways lecturers can do to support teaching and learning process, one of which is by making use of technology to develop learning media. Using media is expected to make learning process about grammar enjoyable. This research aims to develop learning media using VideoScribe for the subject of Present Continuous Tense which is one of the materials studied by odd semester students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau. This research further designs, implements and tests the feasibility of the learning media. This research is a research and development (R&D) model with ADDIE which consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The subjects of this study were undergraduate students majoring in non-English Department which consisted of 35 students in odd semester. The results of alpha testing, expert material assessment showed that the media that were designed was in a very good category with an average score of 4.26. Meanwhile, for trials with students, the video animation media using VideoScribe was in a very good category with an average score of 4.25. Therefore, it can be concluded that the instructional media designed is suitable to be used to support teaching and learning activities.

This research was intended to 1) know how to increase the students’ activity of class X of SMA Teladan 1 Metro through contextual learning based on inquiry 2) know how master the concept about ecosystem of students class X of SMA Teladan 1 Metro through contextual learning based on inquiry 3) know whether there is increase of learning activity and mastery of ecosystem concept through contextual learning based on inquiry. To gain the objectives above, the research method used in this research was Classroom Action Research (PTK). The subject of the research were the students of class X of SMA Teladan 1 Metro. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that 1) Contextual Learning can increase the student learning activity, which covers: a) listening to teacher explanation activity which was 5-10 % previously out of the whole class became 96%, b) proposing idea activity which was previously 1-5% out of all students became 94%, c) observation activity which was previously 15% out of all students became 85%, d) activity in following discussion which was 15% previously out of the whole students became 84%, e) activity in doing analysis and reporting the result was 10% previously became 96%. 2) Contextual learning can increase concept of ecosystem mastery by comparing pre-test and post test result in the end of the cycle 2. From the analysis, it was found that the Gain score was normalized became 0,793 or there was increase of concept mastery as high as 79.3% from the gain before the treatment compared to after the treatment, and 3) contextual learning can increase learning activity and concept of ecosystem mastery. Kata kunci: Contextual Teaching and Learning, Aktivitas Belajar, Penguasaan Konsep
