Walking is the special mode of transportation that comprises 60% of the World’s population. This population includes the pedestrians as the focus of sight, because they are considered as the road users. Understanding the behavior of road users is a difficult task as people have complex mindsets. When people are crossing the road, they have been subjected to various attitude issues and other psychological issues. The prediction of the pedestrian’s motion is very ridiculous, because their motions has to be predicted related to the traffic parameter. A prediction algorithm always uses the past experiences to anticipate the future events. These algorithms use the set of sample data from a sample collected over a period. This makes prediction algorithms more ideal to use within smart environments. So as a part of this study, we have compared various algorithms, for their accurateness of the prediction on pedestrians’ movements. This paper also focuses on the various pedestrian’s data set, pedestrian behavior estimation and the various algorithms used to predict the behavior of the people. As a part of our research on pedestrian safety prediction would be done by providing an efficient prediction algorithm based on their movements, ecological factors, pedestrians’ psychological factors, other outreaches.

<div>In recent years, the occurrence of road accidents increases drastically. There are many factors influencing the road accidents. Nowadays usage of mobile phones while driving is common but it leads to the distraction in driving and subsequently causes accidents. Though jurisdictions are made that usage of electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets, laptops while driving are illegal, no one is aware of that. The drivers who use mobile gadgets while driving not only risk their lives but also the people around them. Most of the road users are well aware of the general rules and safety measures. However due to human errors, accidents occur. To overcome from the human errors this paper focuses on developing a security alert system for drivers using edge computing paradigm.</div>

Red-light running (RLR) is the most significant factor involved in traffic crashes and injuries at signalized intersections. In Vietnam, little knowledge of factors affecting RLR has been found. This paper applied an ordered probit model to investigate factors associated with RLR using questionnaire data collected in Hanoi. Generally, this paper found that males and motorcyclists have a higher likelihood of RLR than females and car drivers. In addition, the younger and lower-income road users and the ones who are businessmen and who have a commuting trip in off-peak hours are more likely to run the red light. By contrast, the road users who go to school and the people who understand traffic law are less likely to violate the red light. In the future, it is necessary to collect data in different cities to generalize the results. In addition, may need to apply a more powerful method such as the latent class model, which can discover hidden facts among respondents. In the new model, other factors such as weather, waiting time, and countdown signal will be considered to investigate their effects on RLR.

Vulnerable road users contribute to nearly half of road deaths globally. In New Zealand, this group accounts for 26% of road deaths, which includes 8% of pedestrian crashes. This paper provides a critical review of the road safety policies from the pedestrian’s viewpoint for some of the best performing countries and discusses their effectiveness for the future. A case study is conducted for New Zealand to identify factors contributing to the pedestrian crashes and investigate the impact of the road safety policies on pedestrian crash trends. The policies are predominantly well informed by evidence-based approaches contributing to an overall reduction in the number of road crashes. However, little attention has been paid on pedestrian behaviour related to crashes. Finally, the paper makes recommendations for improving pedestrian safety to enable better safety outcomes that are closer to vision zero.

As vulnerable road users, elderly pedestrians are more likely to be injured in road crashes due to declining physical and perceptual capabilities. Most previous studies on the influence of the built environment on elderly pedestrian safety focused on intersections or areal units. Using a district of Shanghai as the study area, this research investigated the effects of the built environment at the road segment level with elderly pedestrian collision, taxi tracking point, point of interest, street view image, open street map, land use, housing price, and elderly population datasets. In particular, this research employed both Poisson and geographically weighted Poisson regression (GWPR) models to account for spatial nonstationarity. The Poisson model indicates that green space, sidewalks, and junctions on the roads significantly affected elderly pedestrian safety, and roads around nursing homes, schools, bus stops, metro stations, traditional markets, and supermarkets were hazardous for elderly pedestrians. The results of the GWPR model suggest that the influence of factors varied across the study area. Green space could decrease the risk of elderly pedestrian collisions only in areas without congested environments. Separations need to be installed between roadways and sidewalks to improve elderly road safety.

Violations committed by motorists with not using a helmet shows compliance (compliance) are low traffic rules as regulated in section 57 subsection (2) of Act No. 22 of year 2009 about traffic Transport and streets. This type of research is conducted with the normative-legal research efforts are empirical. Mokodompit still in Kecamatan Kambu is a factor of consciousness and behavior, because almost all violations and traffic accidents on the road sekitasrnya and H.E. à Mokodompit that Kecamatan Kambu is still in its primary cause is the rider. These factors gave rise to differences of level of knowledge and/or understanding of the people against the prevailing rules resulted in a disparity that potentially gave rise to traffic problems in particular knowledge of the importance of the benefits the use of helmets for motorbike riders of vehicles that do not wear a helmet, both between road users themselves as well as between road users with apparatus that served to carry out law enforcement on highways, environmental factors contribute active in creating behavior-behavior that deviates. The citizens of the society like the breach of rules that have been set out in the legislation are likely to form a bad or aberrant personality on the individual efforts being done Satlantas Polres Kendari in tackling traffic offences caused by motorcyclists not wearing a helmet at the cross streets of H.E. à Mokodompit is by way of enforcing methods of pre-emptif, is an effort or prevention efforts against irregularities.

Utilization of land for public facilities is the ideals of the constitution as stated that "to be used for the greatest prosperity of the people" and "land to function socially" based on Law No. 5/1960 concerning Basic Agrarian Regulations. The use of land for the public facilities does not give priority rights to a party or individual. Collective use within the community must be addressed wisely and proportionally in its use. A public road that is regarded as a public facility, no one can claim to be entitled to a road because it borders or is close to the land or occupancy. With the closed access to the use and benefitting of roads as the public facilities, it is difficult to determine the violation of the law committed. There is a Provincial Regulation which regulates the prohibition of parking on the roads, but this prohibition is not well-regulated in other regions with its legal products. Disregarding in the community to the road users as public facilities, can become a social problem and must be resolved with a consensus reflecting the Pancasila as the life point of view. Deliberation and consensus is a solution to solving problems by involving Village Traditional Institutions or similar names based on regionalism. Deliberation and consensus as a solution to the use of land for public facilities, can produce decisions in village deliberations. The Village Customary Institution as a partner to the Village Government can propose the joint use of community public facilities to be regulated in a Village Regulation. Normative legal research is the method used in this study. There is no violation of legal rules in the unwise use of public facilities, making this community problem must be resolved by the community itself by prioritizing the value of the Pancasila and after that it can be elaborated in the simplest rules in the Village Regulation.

Traffic discipline is an important attitude. Road drivers need to be accustomed to it if they want to reach their destination safely. Drivers need to be disciplined regarding regulation. Jakarta is a densely populated city with the problem of traffic congestion due to its road users who do not comply with regulations. Why are the people of Jakarta not discipline in traffic? What is the solution to make them obey traffic rules? These are main problems discussed in this paper. The research used the normative method, analyzed descriptively, used primary data which was supported by secondary data, and processed qualitatively. Jakarta people are not disciplined in traffic because there is no awareness about the importance of traffic order. As solutions, theremust be a strict law enforcement on the road, and officers must keep providing information to the public on the importance of traffic order.
