One of the characteristics of a developed nation is a nation that has a high level of health, intelligence and work productivity. These three things are strongly influenced by the state of nutrition. Nutritional problems in Indonesia are currently included in the triple burden of nutrition status. The prevalence of stunting under five in Indonesia is included in the chronic category, which is 30.8%. The direct cause of nutritional problems in toddlers is due to an unbalanced diet. Balanced nutrition is a food composition from a variety of food ingredients that contain nutrients needed by the body, both in quality and quantity. One of the efforts to prevent nutritional problems in toddlers is to empower parents of toddlers through increasing the knowledge of mothers of toddlers. The role of the mother is very important for toddlers to fulfill balanced nutrition because the level of knowledge about nutrition will affect the food selection process and family eating behavior. Therefore, this community service program is to carry out balanced nutrition counseling activities that aim to increase the knowledge of mothers of toddlers about balanced nutrition to prevent nutritional problems in toddlers. The target of this activity is mothers of children under five at Posyandu Catleya 19. The implementation of this activity was attended by mothers of children under five at Posyandu Catleya 19, posyandu cadres, and coordinating midwives. Counseling on balanced nutrition begins with pretest activities, then continues with material presentation, discussion and question and answer, and then closes with posttest. In this activity, mothers of children under five are given a balanced nutrition module which contains material on balanced nutrition and recipes that can be applied in daily feeding of children under five. The results of the activity evaluation showed that 76.3% of mothers under five experienced an increase in knowledge after counseling.

Background: This study aims to describe malnutrition among children under five and to describe the food insecurity status during the current conflict in Yemen. Methods: Data were obtained from a Yemeni nutrition surveillance program (pilot phase) targeting 4142 households with 5276 children under five from two governorates (Ibb and Sana’a). Results: Global acute malnutrition was found in 13.3% of overall screened children, while 4.9% had severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and 8.4% had moderate acute malnutrition. One-fifth of the children under six months of age were acutely malnourished, followed by children under two years at 18.5% based on weight-for-height z scores. Significant associations between malnutrition and other diseases included suspected measles at three times higher rates (4.5%, p < 0.00) among SAM cases than other children. Diarrhea, fever, and cough were significantly higher among the SAM group (p < 0.05). Most households depended on market food purchases in the month preceding this survey (84.7%). Household coping mechanisms to secure daily meals included borrowing food to survive, changing types and quality of food, and decreasing the number of meals per day; some families sent their children to live with relatives. Conclusion: Malnutrition is a serious public health problem. The humanitarian community needs to adopt alternative strategies to improve food security and the nutrition status in Yemen.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the nutritional status of the children under five years of the Municipalities of Natitingou, Boukoumbé, and Toucountouna located in the Department of Atacora in North West Benin. It is a prospective, descriptive and analytical study in which we collected the anthropometric measurements of 600 children and submitted their mothers to a questionnaire. The results show that the three forms of undernutrition are still present with 53% of stunted children, 75% of underweight children and 26% of emaciated children. Moreover, the dietary diversity scores recorded in the surveyed households are mostly low. Determinants identified include diseases, dietary diversity, non-compliance with the principle of exclusive breastfeeding, and poor weaning practices. In sum, the very high level of stunting is indicative of chronic food insecurity. There is therefore an awakening of consciousness of the different actors involved in the fight against malnutrition for an improvement of the nutritional status of children in this area of study.

The problem of malnutrition in children under five is still a major health problem in the world, including Indonesia. Indonesia is a developing country that still faces considerable problems of malnutrition. Nutritional problems nationally are under-five and under-nutrition children under five. Poor nutritional status is a condition of the body experiencing nutritional deficiencies or below standard. Based on the nutritional status monitoring (PSG) survey in Probolinggo District, there was an increase in cases of malnutrition, obtained in the prevalence of non-compliance with the weight per year in 2017 of 9.44%, an increase compared to 2016, namely 8.65% under-five children under five. Toddlers are considered the biggest nutritional risk because patterns of poor feeding have an impact on growth and development. This causes the toddler age group to increase the risk of morbidity and mortality. Based on a preliminary study in April 2018, data was obtained that Probolinggo was ranked second in the area of malnutrition in East Java. In 2017 there are 130 toddlers who experience malnutrition in the Kalibuntu Coast of Probolinggo Regency. The cause of malnutrition is due to the pattern and intake of toddlers' food which contains less nutrition. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of nutritional support programs on feeding patterns and nutritional status of the Kalibuntu Coastal Children in Probolinggo Regency. This research is an experimental study, namely by measuring the increase / comparison of feeding patterns and nutritional status before and after the nutrition companion program. The population in this study were all toddlers with malnutrition in the Kalibuntu Coast of 130 people in Probolinggo Regency. Sampling uses Total Sampling. Samples are all mothers who have underweight and malnourished children under the age of 130 people in the Kalibuntu Coast of Probolinggo Regency. Data collection using observation sheets and interviews. Analysis of univariate data using frequency distribution, bivariate analysis using Wilcoxon match paired test and multivariate analysis using multiple linear regression then drawn conclusions. The results of the Wilcoxon match paired test between nutritional companions on feeding patterns obtained a p value of 0,000 <α 0,05, so ha was accepted so that there was an effect of nutritional companion on feeding patterns. The value of Exp (B) in the logistic regression analysis of eating parenting has a value of 85.008, which means that parenting has a chance of 85,008 times to change. While the nutritional status variable in multiple logistic regression has an Exp (B) value of 3.663, from these results it can be explained that nutritional status has an opportunity to increase 3.663 times.

Many studies reveal the determinant factor of children under five years of malnutrition problem in Indonesia. However, there is only a few analysis conducted on indigenous communities and its comparison to non-indigenous communities. This study analyzes the determinant factors of malnutrition in children under five years in indigenous communities (Suku Baduy) and non-indigenous communities. This study is a comparative study using cross-sectional data, where the samples are households that have children under five years in indigenous communities (n=60) and in non-indigenous communities (n=60), with sample techniques using purposive random sampling. To calculate nutrition status, this study uses the anthropometric index based on weight-for-age according to WHO standards presented in the Z-score and Standard Deviations (SD). The result of this study indicates that the prevalence of children under five years suffering from malnutrition in indigenous communities is lower than in non-indigenous communities, which is 21,7% to 43,3%. Two factors influence the high prevalence of malnutrition in children under five years, namely, the education of the head of a family with OR=0.120 (95%C1: 0.021-0.675) and prenatal care in the fourth trimester with OR 9.890 (95%C1: 1.349-72.531). It is necessary to increase public knowledge on balanced nutrition in children under five years and improved maternal health access to resolve children under five years of malnutrition in those communities.

Immunization, nutritional support for food vitamins and nutritional content from food are important components to support good children's growth and development. However, the number of malnutrition and malnutrition in Indonesia is still high, causing many children under five to experience stunting during the golden age. Through this research, analysis and design of mobile-based information systems that can be accessed anywhere and anytime as needed is carried out. The design of this information system can be used as a guide for young mothers regarding child health information needed, especially during the growth and development period of toddlers by monitoring growth curves and providing health recommendations through the calculation of the Body Mass Index (BMI) in toddlers and can also be used as a reminder and recording of immunization data in children under five.

Female model has a variety of body image and experiences social pressure to have low weight. Thus, there is a desire to lose weight with a variety of efforts, such as fad diets. This type of diet can lead to insufficient intake of nutrients in the body and increase the risk of health problems in the long run. The research aimed to analyze fad diets, nutritional status, and nutritional adequacy of female models in Malang. The research design was cross-sectional in 52 female models aged 18–25 years who were selected by simple random sampling. The data of fad diets used in the questionnaire, nutritional status data using the calculation of the last body weight and height, and nutritional adequacy were measured using 2 × 24 hour food recall. Data analysis used the chi-square test. The results of this research showed that most respondents implement fad diets (69%), had negative body image (62%), had a skinny at high level (22%), skinny at mild level (44%), and normal (33%) of nutritional status, and had inadequate nutritional adequacy (77%). There was a significant ( p = 0.023 ) correlation between fad diets and nutritional adequacy (r = 0.369), and in addition, there was a significant correlation ( p = 0.041 ) between nutritional status and nutritional adequacy (r = 0.35). It is concluded that the female models who implemented fad diets and nutritional status below normal tended to not have adequate levels of nutritional adequacy because of improper food selection and psychological factors. Female models are expected to be able to conduct weight loss with the assistance of a nutritionist or in accordance with balanced nutrition guidelines.
