Abstract. Physical activity and regular practice help to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. Sport organization leaders are to understand the behaviour of current and potential users to establish strategies for promoting and consolidating physical activity. The objective of this project is to discover whether sports service users find associations between stages of change and types of regulation, as well as different levels of satisfaction, loyalty and amount of physical activity practices completed out in relation to the stages of change. The population under study was 4236 users registered in municipal public sports centers in Monterrey (Mexico). The average age is 19.30±12.65, with 55.7 %males. Several instruments were used for the research: the Behavioural Regulation in Exercise Questionnaire, Stages of Change Questionnaire, four items from EPOD2, and four items from a scale of future intentions of users of sports services. All of them had the necessary validity and reliability. Mean comparison tests, contingency tables and correlations were performed. The results show that there is a partnership between stages of change, regulation, satisfaction, loyalty, average session time and weekly frequency of practice, which those responsible for organizations, programs and sports activities, should be aware of and use to increase rates of physical activity practice and the consolidation of habit among different population groups. It is the users who are in the stages of action and maintenance the most satisfied, the most loyal and the ones that perform the most physical activity.

The purpose of this study was to document the significance of the practices employed by parents that contribute to children’s healthy lifestyle in Oman. Those practices encompassed the physical activity and inactivity, sedentary behaviour, nutritional knowledge, and its reflection on their children at early childhood class. Subjects consisted of 237 male and female parents of kindergarten children in the Sultanate of Oman. The researchers developed a twenty-three and a twenty-item questionnaire intended to measure the degree of parent involvement in their children's impact at acceptable levels of validity and reliability. (Amazingly, it was found that parents’ healthy lifestyle were low in their habit practices (low in engagement to physical activity, sports and daily life activity) which showed a trend of sedentary lifestyle. Meanwhile, they did not encourage their children to participate in physical activity nor control them from staying away from being in front of TV screen and video games, too. In addition, their nutritional knowledge also scored low which affected their children’s health negatively. It is, therefore, suggested that lifestyle concept should be inculcated in the learning process for children, and further analysis be made as to what extent the demographic category may influence parents’ involvement towards their children’s healthy lifestyle.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Postural balance is essential for activities of daily living and sports performance in all life phases, but it remains unknown whether the regular practice of sports activities can improve postural balance in children. Objective: To evaluate postural balance in children who practice and those who do not practice regular sports activities. Methods: The sample consisted of 60 children (7-13 years of age) divided into two groups: participants in sports activities (n = 30) and non-participants in sports activities (n = 30). The level of physical activity was assessed by applying the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Children (PAQ-C) and static postural balance was assessed on the BIOMEC400-412 strength platform in bipedal and unipedal support. Results: No significant difference was observed between the groups in age, height or body mass index (p > 0.05). However, the groups showed a significant difference (p < 0.001) in the level of physical activity. The practicing sports group was characterized as active and the non-practicing group as sedentary. The practicing sports group had better postural balance in both bipedal and unipedal support compared to the non-practicing group (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The practice of regular sports activities improves postural balance in children from 7 to 13 years of age. Level of evidence II; Diagnostic study - Investigating a diagnostic test.

Physical education is an specific didactic that involves both children and adolescents in the regular practice of physical activity; however, it is striking that, despite its innumerable benefits, its provision is being undermined in many countries of the world. It is therefore necessary for governments to take action in school curricula. From this need comes the interest to know the current situation of school physical education from different places of the world; being used for this purpose two very different countries, as much in their geographical location as in their culture, as Spain and Brazil. Thus, there are items referring to legislation, teaching hours, teaching, teacher training and complementary sports activities in relation to physical education. The objective of this article was the descriptive and qualitative comparison of the realities, similarities and differences between these countries, as well as the exposition of applicable improvement proposals; highlighting the importance of increasing the number of hours of physical education.

The sedentary form of behaviour, the effective holding of the body are potential causes of the formation of muscular asymmetries, and thus of poor body posture. The aim of the paper is to determine the differences in posture of children of different levels of physical activity. The research involved an assessment of a sample of 42 handball players 13.02 ± 0.89 years and 32 non-athletes 13.16 ± 0.88 years. Three tests were used to evaluate the presence of poor posture, to evaluate the scoliotic poor posture - Adam’s forward bend test, to estimate the kyphotic poor posture –Reclination test with the contraction of the extensor muscle to assess the lordotic poor posture – Contraction test of the abdominal muscles. The obtained results of the chi square of the test indicate that there are no statistically significant differences between the analysed groups of subjects regarding the presence of the scoliotic (p = 0.85), the kyphotic (p = 0.77) and the lordotic poor posture (p = 0.82) between the defined groups. The assumption is that boys are involved in sports activities due to the impaired posture in adolescent age, in order to prevent further progression and formation of new bodily deformities and to avoid similar conditions.

The educational process of physical education and sport in the initial stage of the primary education helps build the foundations for the positive attitude of the trainees towards sport, personal physical development and physical capacity, motivation, needs and interests. The purpose of this survey is to identify parents’ willingness to encourage their children to participate in organized sports activities at school and beyond, and to determine the impact of physical activity on the development of personal traits in first grade students. The contingent of the survey is 30 parents of students in the first grade of “Vasil Levski” Secondary school – Troyan. To achieve this goal, the following tasks must be completed: 1. To investigate the parental capacity to provoke physical activity in children. 2. To identify certain personality traits of first grade students after undergoing physical activity. 3. To process the received data and formulate conclusions and recommendations for practice in physical activity. For the successful outcome of the survey the following methods were applied: literature review on the subject and the survey questionnaire method. Based on the answers received from parents to pupils in first grade, it can be concluded that, positive emotional communication of children during participation in sports activities influences the interaction and the way of communication with their relatives, strengthens their self-assessment, regulates social behavior, increases the tolerance towards loved ones and strangers, lowers aggressiveness and emotional lability, and last but not least - forms the basis of a healthy lifestyle.

Modern trends in the deterioration of health and the growth of non-communicable diseases among the adult working-age population, including medical workers, actualize the importance of a healthy lifestyle for maintaining health and professional longevity. There were almost no studies related to cosmetologists' experienced group as representatives of aesthetic medicine. There is no scientific evidence on behavioral risks of this group. It justifies the relevance of this study. The study aims to analyze the essential components of the cosmetologists' lifestyle depending on age and the argumentation of priority behavioral health risk factors for preventive and recreational work justification. Sixty women (practicing cosmetologists in Volgograd at the age of 28-39 years (group A) and 40-53 (group B)) took part in the study. Lifestyle assessment included a modified questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of 5 blocks (block 1 - nutrition; 2 - physical activity, including hardening and active rest; 3 - daily regimen; 4 - personal hygiene; 5 - bad habits). It allows the analysis of the adherence to a healthy lifestyle based on the provision of quantitative data. Statistical data processing was carried out using the Excel package. The authors identified the essential and statistically significant differences in the cosmetologists' lifestyle depending on age. The respondents of group B demonstrated hygienically rational indicators in all blocks of the lifestyle more often. They had a more formed adherence to a healthy lifestyle: 504 answers in the category "insignificant risk" of respondents in group B versus 354 in group A. Distribution of answers in the "high risk" category: 119 responses in group B and 185 in group A. The lifestyle of 46.7% of the respondents in group B refers to a healthy lifestyle. 3.3% of the group B respondents have an anxious lifestyle, 50% have health risks. 10% of Group A respondents' lifestyle refers to a healthy lifestyle. 13.3% of Group A respondents' lifestyle refers to an anxious lifestyle; 76.7% of this group have health risks. There was almost no complex hygienic research profession of medical cosmetologists. Cosmetologists of the older age group (40-53 years old) are more conscious of maintaining a hygienically rational lifestyle. The most significant defects among cosmetologists aged 28-39 years are low physical activity, nutritional defects, insufficient duration of night rest, and excessive use of information and communication technologies for rest, accompanied by manifestations of neurotization and signs of pronounced fatigue. The obtained results argue the need to develop and implement informational and educational measures to prevent risk behavior patterns, taking into account the age of cosmetologists and the priority of the identified behavioral risk factors.

In Slovenia, the role of general practitioners in counselling physical activity for prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD) is well recognized. The role of general practitioners in advising healthy lifestyle for individuals who are at risk of developing CVD is formally defined in the National Program for Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease, which has been running since 2001. Part of the program is counselling on healthy lifestyle including physical activity, performed in all health centres across the country. First a screening and medical examination is performed. In case of higher risk for CVD (>20%) the physician should give advice on the particular risk factor and direct patients to health-education centres, where they can participate in healthy lifestyle workshops lead by health professionals. Physicians and other health professionals who are involved in the implementation of prevention activities within the program need knowledge and skills that are crucial for successful counselling on healthy lifestyle. The educational program “basic education in health promotion and prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases in primary health care/family medicine” consists of two parts. The first part of the training is open to all health professionals working within the program. The second part is intended for health professionals working in health-education workshops. In the last few years a new family practice model has been introduced and disseminated. Some duties of the family physician, including health promotion and counselling, are being transferred to graduate nurses who become part of the family practice team. This new division of work undoubtedly brings many advantages, both in terms of the work organization, and of high-quality patient care. Nevertheless preventive action cannot be fully passed on to graduate nurses. Careful planning and education are needed to ensure a comprehensive approach in healthy life style counselling.

Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), α- and β-defensins, possess antiviral properties. These AMPs achieve viral inhibition through different mechanisms of action. For example, they can: (i) bind directly to virions; (ii) bind to and modulate host cell-surface receptors, disrupting intracellular signaling; (iii) function as chemokines to augment and alter adaptive immune responses. Given their antiviral properties and the fact that the development of an effective coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) treatment is an urgent public health priority, they and their derivatives are being explored as potential therapies against COVID-19. These explorations using various strategies, range from their direct interaction with the virus to using them as vaccine adjuvants. However, AMPs do not work in isolation, specifically in their role as potent immune modulators, where they interact with toll-like receptors (TLRs) and chemokine receptors. Both of these receptors have been shown to play roles in COVID-19 pathogenesis. In addition, it is known that a healthy lifestyle accompanied by controlled physical activity can represent a natural weapon against COVID-19. In competitive athletes, an increase in serum defensins has been shown to function as self-protection from the attack of microorganisms, consequently a controlled physical activity could act as a support to any therapies in fighting COVID-19. Therefore, including information on all these players’ interactions would produce a complete picture of AMP-based therapies’ response.
