The higher education and research institutions have an objective of creating new knowledge continuously using their people as resources and success of the organizations depend on how much new knowledge they have created during a given period of time. A simple measurement system for calculating annual research index of organizations namely ABC model has been developed by Aithal P. S. and Suresh Kumar during 2016. As per this model, the annual research performance can be determined by knowing the research index of the institution/ individuals and is calculated by considering the total number of research publications during that period. Application of the theory of organizational performance namely ‘Theory A’ can improve research productivity of educational institutions. This is a management strategy which believes in delivering target as responsibility, feeling of creativity and contribution for motivation, identifying with the organization as commitment and accountability as a hallmark of efficiency. In this paper, we have interconnected Theory A of organization performance with ABC model of research productivity in order to enhance research productivity of the organizations.

Background/Purpose: Developing and Maintaining quality in higher education is an essential aspect of the sustainability of universities. National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), India has developed a new model of HEIs assessment and accreditation from July 2017. Based on its assessment, NAAC announces the final result in the form of Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) between 0 to 4.0, which is a combination of evaluation of qualitative and quantitative metrics with three parts including peer team report, graphical representation based on quantitative metric, and institutional grade sheet. Out of more than 380 universities assessment out of about 950 universities as on 30/042021, only 9 universities have been graded as A++ letter grade by NAAC. Objectives: Study on Criteria wise performance of top nine A++ scored Indian Universities according to NAAC Accreditation, full scores obtained in various criteria with reasons, compare research performance and analyse it using ABC model of research productivity, the effect of organizational leaders as role models on the research output, and to critically analyse the organizational SWOC based on NAAC data and outcome. Design/Methodology/Approach: Analysis of information collected from self-study reports of NAAC A++ graded universities, comparing and analyzing criteria wise, and analyzing research productivity of these universities and their leaders using ABC model of annual Research performance framework. Findings/Result: Out of nine NAAC A++ graded universities, five universities got full scores in the Curricular Aspects criterion. The universities are ranked based on their overall scores in the accreditation process. Based on the scores obtained in different criteria, the strengths and weaknesses of these universities are studied. These nine universities are further ranked based on their annual research performance and the leaders/Vice-chancellors research annual research productivity by considering the last five years research productivity. It is observed that many vice-chancellors failed to contribute to universities research outcomes as role models and motivators to other researchers of these universities. A comparative study on research performance-based grading is found to be ambiguous and little disparity is observed on key indicator-based university grading. Based on observations, some general recommendations are suggested. Research limitations/implications: This study used the data from the Self-study Report, Peer Team Report, and Grade Report of respective universities kept for public reference in the NAAC website in accordance with the new accreditation framework, downloaded on 30/04/2021. Originality/Value: This paper compares the research performance of nine NAAC A++ accredited universities of India using their last 5 years’ research data and identifies the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges of these universities for further improvement. Developing research performance has become an important theme in Iranian higher educational institutions as other national and international academic institutions across the world. However, the research performance of Iranian Teaching English as a Foreign Language postgraduate candidates has been argued to be limited. In order to increase their research productivity and develop their capacity in this regard, the first critical step is to understand the influences which are associated with their academic research performance. This qualitative study focuses on a group of TEFL postgraduate candidates from five major Iranian universities with the purpose of investigating the motivational influences in conducting research, their perception of research value, and their understanding of research environment which is required for research productivity. Interviews were conducted with 20 candidates from the sample universities. It was revealed that the research related activities and efforts of the participants were driven by both external and internal needs and motivations. A multi-dimensional value was accorded to research; however, the academic research environment and requirements were the subject of various concerns. The results of this study offer several future implications for departmental and institutional research administrators to further support TEFL postgraduate candidates’ research development.

This article presents the results of a study on the possibilities of computer educational games for the development of various cognitive skills for learners. The advantages they offer in the learning process are highlighted. Special emphasis is placed on the relationship between game-based learning and mental development of learners. Examples of game-based learning from leading educational institutions at different stages of the educational process are given. A prototype of an educational game with several interactive puzzles is presented. They are designed to teach students in mathematics and philology (learning a foreign language). The developed prototypes can be used to acquire new knowledge or to assess the acquisition of knowledge and skills in various subject areas.

This article analyzes the literature in the search for career management in the knowledge-based organizations (KBOs). The literature review covers the overview of career management strategy; organizational career management (OCM) and knowledge management (KM) in the KBOs; career management and career learning in the KBOs; career management innovation in the KBOs; and the significance of career management strategy in the interorganizational career transitions. Career management is the process that helps employees understand career opportunities and chart a career path within their organization. Encouraging career management in the KBOs has the potential to improve organizational performance and reach strategic goals in the modern workplace. The findings present valuable insights and further understanding of the way in which career management perspectives in the KBOs should be emphasized.

This study endeavours to embrace a bibliometric analysis of the research publications of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) from 2008-2019. It is in this context that the present study aims to audit the exploration execution the research performance of PDPU based on the papers published in journals that have indexed in Scopus for as far back as eleven years. The total number of 931 publications has retrieved from the Scopus database. Amongst them, 64.44 % are research articles published in scholarly journals and 28.89 % in Conference proceedings. The paper also analyzed the publication trend of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University and found that from 2008 onwards there was a steady increase in the number of publications. The authors attempt to identify the current trends in research output by PDPU, which includes the most prolific authors, institutional collaborative works, research productivity in terms of publications, highest citations papers, most preferred publications, etc.… The research publications was found highest numbers of publications in the year 2019. Findings of this study also reveal that the “AIP Conference Proceedings” is the most preferred journal, and Mukhopadhyay, I, is the most prolific author and has made the highest number of publications.


The purpose of this research is to seek and identify the impact teamwork has on organizational performance. The research to understand the teamwork quality, team cohesiveness and team performance in employee performance, identify the positive or negative effects of teamwork on employees and to examine the impact of teamwork on organization performance. Therefore, it is to determine how teamwork could effect and improve University employee’s performance within the organization. In fact, it is also to understand on how methods like teamwork quality, team cohesiveness, and teamwork performance have could be used to have positive effects in employee overall performance. The research study used correlation techniques in order to analyze the relationship between two variables that was Teamwork and Organization Performance. In many of the journals and article that was collected, there was clear evidence that teamwork and other measures of team performance are positively related with organization performance. The study of the research shown that there was a significant positive impact of teamwork on organizational performance and employee’s overall performance.

Al-Qarawiyyin University's independence in terms of finances had been a significant and influential factor in making it possible for the university to maintain its high quality. Therefore, this paper aims to examine and analyse the financial sources for the development and operation of this university. It reviews and analyses historical data through relevant literature and documents. Waqf played a significant role in providing financial assistance to the university's communities and in strengthening its academic quality. There were four significant types of waqf sources which were the individual fund, the collective waqf fund, the Sultan fund and the alumni fund along with different other types of charities, i.e. sadaqah. This article adds new knowledge by examining the financing experiences of the world's oldest university. It is expected that the instance of Al-Qarawiyyin University may contribute to finding out a solution for the funding crises in contemporary institutions. Abstract System analyses deal with interrelationships between different variables that keep the system in balance. In many analysis of complex thinking, a system is viewed as a complex unit in which the ‘whole’ is not reduced to the ‘sum’ of its parts; the system becomes an ambiguous item because it consists of several entities that interact with unforeseen results or, in other words, it is situated at a transdisciplinary level, it is impossible for an area to have a complete reading of its complexity. It was also mentioned that the concept of the open system best describes complexity by stating that ‘the laws of the organization are not equilibrium, but an imbalance that is restored or compensated for by stabilized dynamics’. This idea originated from the field of thermodynamics and the second law, in which the imbalance that it maintains allows the system for an apparent balance. This fragile steady state has something of a paradox, since the structures remain the same, but their constituents are changeable. The concept of open system undoes the door to a theory of evolution that can only derive from the interactions between a system and its ecosystem. Within this systemic approach, the focus of the analysis takes into account the ambiguity, multidisciplinary and complexity associated with system adjustment, i.e. it is intended to qualify an employee job based on their experience and knowledge as a measure of their impact on the organization performance.

This paper aimed to examine the effect of transformational leadership, energizing organizational learning and teamwork efficacy on improving Indonesia community-based eco-tourism organization performance. A field survey was conducted in the Tasikmalaya tourism sector. A total of 205 eco-tourism workers were surveyed to obtain data. This study offered a conceptual model for variable proposed to improve the eco-tourism community performance. The findings show that transformational leadership and energizing the organizational learning process positively affects organizational performance in the eco-tourism community. The author argues that energizing the organizational learning process mediates the relation between transformational leadership and organizational performance. This study addressed gaps in transformational leadership literature and practices by examining the interactions between energizing organizational learning process and eco-tourism workers teamwork's efficacy.

This chapter indicates the overview of hospitality industry; the concept of service innovation; service innovation and customer demand; the importance of service innovation in the hospitality industry; the concept of Knowledge Management (KM); the advanced issues of KM in the hospitality industry; competency models in the hospitality industry; and the importance of KM in the hospitality industry. Service innovation has the potential to create the business growth perspectives, to lead markets that have the economic impact, and to bring about the structural and economic changes in the hospitality industry. KM seeks to make the best use of the knowledge that is available to the hospitality industry, while creating new knowledge in the process. The chapter argues that promoting service innovation and KM has the potential to enhance organizational performance and reach strategic goals in the hospitality industry.
