English has been a subject in the university classroom since the 1980s. This subject helps produce more excellent talents in economics, politics, and culture who are proficient in English language in China, and enable our country to better integrate with the global economy. At the same time, the relationship between our country and the international community has become closer. However, the social environment is constantly developing and changing. The traditional teaching methods can be said to be ineffective and associated with many shortcomings. Traditional teaching methods were used in the English lessons. Under this teaching mode, students were the passive subjects on the receiving end of what have been taught. The teacher was always talking in the classroom and the students were listening. This teaching style also affects the effectiveness of learning. Compared with traditional teaching, interactive teaching method has its unique advantages. It is a new teaching mode and under this teaching mode, students can actively communicate with teachers in the classroom to complete learning tasks. The initiative to perform self-directed learning is also greatly improved, and the students’ English proficiency can be improved.

The main purpose of this study was to examine the effects of intrinsic predictors, teaching style, and extrinsic predictors and challenges of male and female 10th graders’ academic achievement in Harari National Regional state. The population of the study were students from Abadir secondary school, Shakib secondary school, and Harari senior secondary schools. The samples (n = 104) were selected using cluster sampling technique from eight secondary schools in the region. Reliability tests indicated acceptable coefficients (0.72, 0.85 and 0.82) for the three domains of the questionnaire. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The findings show that student-centered teaching approach is the most robust predictor of academic success. Some of the variables in the study indicated poor predictive power, some indicated moderate, and others showed high predictive power over students’ academic achievement. The findings are insightful in that they reveal why some students succeed in tasks, why some give up easily, and why some other students persist. It is recommended that teachers adopt a learner/student-centered teaching method to enable their students to develop self-sustaining approach in order to maintain a lifelong enthusiasm for their future learning. The findings have implications for curriculum experts who can transform their routine approach to general education curricula in such a way as to inspire and change students’ personal, moral, emotional, psychological and behavioural adjustments towards academic success.

This analysis introduces the pedagogy of research and questioning the world within the Math classrooms at secondary schools in Argentina by using Research and Study Paths (RSP). The RSP have been proposed by Chevallard in the Anthropologic Theory of Didactic (ATD) to face the mechanistic model of teaching mathematics in secondary school (Chevallard, 2004). The RSP has been previously conceived as part of this research and could enable to cover the syllabus of the three last years of the secondary level (students aged 14 to 18 years old). The RSP has been carried out in courses intentionally selected by the researcher. Two implementations have been performed once a year during three years; with 163 students participating in the whole research. The results of introducing RSP into the classroom, the characteristics of the Mathematical Organization (MO) and the advantages and disadvantages of teaching mathematics based on the pedagogy of research and questioning the world are described in the present work. Key words: functions, pedagogy of research and questioning the world, polynomial functions of second degree, research and study paths, secondary school.

Abstrack:The main purpose of educational progress was mastery learning. Although, sometimes mastery learning could not be reached maximally. It caused by the teacher used less precise method when they teach, student's lack of interest, uninteresting atmosphere, excessive student. However, it could be counter by teaching methods named “peer tutoring” this method placed students to teach other student in educational progress mastery teaching, in this method the teacher utilized the student’s potential as a kid and as a fellow student. In several studies, the effectiveness of peer tutoring to be used in learning methods so as improved mastery learning. Peer tutoring method in mastery learning worked as complement and assist, they did not replace the teacher’s duties, it made more flexible time for teacher so they could more focus on student’s learning needs. The application of peer tutoring in teaching method made learning situation more comfortable, interesting, active, and more prosocial interaction between students. Ensuring that students reach the determined goals of the courses at the desired level is one of the primary goals of teaching. In order to achieve this purpose, educators use a variety of teaching strategies and methods, and teaching materials appropriate to the content and the subject of the courses in the teaching process. As a matter of fact, it is known that the methods and materials that appeal to different sense organs of the students influence the learning process positively. In addition, the use of various teaching methods, techniques and materials in the teaching process both attract students’ attention and save the lesson from boredom, which affects the learning positively. In the process of teaching students sometimes have problems using their theoretical knowledge in real life situations. In this context, various teaching methods are also used for the practicalization of theoretical knowledge in the teaching processes. The case study method is one of the effective methods to achieve this purpose, because the case study method is a teaching method that enables students to acquire the knowledge and skills to deal with the problem they are working on and to produce information-based solutions in real life situations similar to the situations they are working with. In this study, the literature related to the case study method was examined and the application of the method, its history, application types, points to be considered in the application process, advantages of using the method in the teaching process and its limitations and teaching techniques to be used with the method are explained.

In order for nursing education to be effective, many teaching methods are used. One of these methods is peer learning. Peer learning is defined as assisting an individual who is from the same social group and is not a professional educator in the learning process of other individuals. The use of peer learning in the field of nursing is increasing day by day. The studies investigating the use of peer learning emphasize the advantages and disadvantages. Although there are many positive aspects of peer learning, it should not be forgotten that using peer learning in nursing education may lead to ethical problems if not well planned. These ethical problems can be confronted in terms of both the individual receiving care, the student and the peer mentor. Peer learning can be used as an effective teaching method in nursing education when well planned and audited.
