Famous Flemings’ Effectiveness in Non-Profit Campaigns. Famous Flemings’ Effectiveness in Non-Profit Campaigns. This article studies the effectiveness of Flemish celebrities as endorsers in non-profit campaigns. Six existing Flemish campaigns were selected and tested on the public in three regards: the recognition of the campaign, the ability to name the organisation behind it and the intention to support the organisation. Recognising specific differences between the campaigns, results show that celebrity endorsed campaigns seem to reach a wider, younger target audience, while non-celebrity based campaigns target a rather ‘classic’ donor audience.

The American Association of Suicidology (AAS) is America’s oldest and largest membership-driven non-profit association which aims to promote the understanding and prevention of suicide. After more than 50 years, the association continues to grow and provides a centralized hub in support of its mission and in service to the public and its membership. AAS brings together clinicians, crisis centres, prevention professionals, researchers, survivors of suicide loss, and suicide attempt survivors. The association programmes include an annual conference, a professional journal, training, and accreditation programmes, psychological autopsy training, and dissemination of resources and information. AAS recognizes the outstanding achievements of individuals in the field of suicidology and presents awards annually for research, service, and career milestones. In recent years, AAS has increased its partnerships and collaborations with organizations whose missions and target audience overlap with AAS.

<p><em>In this study, I have collected and summarized the functional aspects of a literary prize, contest, and rating, which indicate their affiliation with the marketing complex of the publishing house for the first time. For this purpose, I have analyzed and summarized the common concepts of the functioning of literary prizes and contests as advertising tools for publishing activity. Because the previous studies are only focused on the fact of the impact of the prize on the promotion of editions but do not explain it, these aspects have been considered and introduced by me from the book production’s point of view. I investigated that the prizes and the contests in the literary field are effective marketing tools, which meet many publisher’s needs at the same time and can be considered a non-profit form of capital. I have reviewed the works of other authors, who accept that the economic success of the book is rising if the author is a winner of the literary prize or contest. I have found out that the book prize activates the demand for the book, and the literary contest is a tool to track the reader’s reaction to a future publication. In this way, literary prizes and contests can be considered as a way of conducting a marketing dialogue with the target audience. I have focused on the information support of literary national and international prizes and contests by the media, which attracts attention to the book and forms the reader’s interest. The literary prizes and contests are also considered as a way of exploring trends and their changes, familiarization the popular genres among the target audience and fixation the current choice of modern readers. Literary prizes and contests motivate the authors to improve their literary excellence, are the source of new authors and works, and assist in increasing sales of books. The relevance of the article is determined by the fact that in Russia there is no effective mechanism of state support for the activities of non-profit organizations in the field of “green Finance”. The role of non-profit organizations is leveled, which can become a serious help in solving economic problems, in particular, the problems of recycling and processing of secondary raw materials, the placement of industrial waste and household garbage, and landscaping of large megacities. The main financial burden in the field of “green economy” falls on States and large enterprises. Meanwhile, we cannot ignore the important role of non-profit organizations that can not only draw attention to environmental problems to the public, but also offer their own measures to solve environmental problems. In this regard, it becomes relevant to consider the participation of non-profit organizations in the implementation of environmental projects by attracting “green Finance”.

Research publishing involves the production, use and management of research in a variety of genres and formats by commercial and non-profit academic publishers, and by organizations in government, civil society, university and industry sectors. However discussion of research publishing mainly tends to focus on the production and circulation of peer-reviewed academic journals and to a lesser extent books produced by commercial academic publishers. Research reports and papers produced by organizations outside the formal publishing system play a critical role in the research and development (R&D) system, yet they are often overlooked in studies on open scholarship and research communication. This is partly due to a lack of terminology to adequately describe the diverse publishing practices of organizations which operate across a spectrum from formal to informal economic activity. In this article I define and contextualise research publishing by organizations in relation to other forms of academic publishing and recent calls for greater bibliodiversity in scholarly communication. Commonly used terms such as ‘grey literature’ or ‘unpublished literature’ are inadequate to describe and account for the proliferation and importance of diverse research genres and formats able to be produced, published and disseminated in print and online by think tanks, government agencies, industry bodies and research centres. By taking a more holistic, systems-oriented approach to research publishing we can begin to understand the diverse actors, institutions and practices involved in knowledge production and develop appropriate policies, infrastructure and management practices to support an effective, efficient, equitable, credible and sustainable research knowledge commons in the public interest.

This study examines levels of job satisfaction for MPA graduates employed in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Findings are based on a survey and indicate that MPA graduates derive greater satisfaction with pay and promotion opportunities in the private sector than in the public or non-profit sectors. No significant differences were noted between the sectors with regard to work satisfaction or satisfaction with supervisor or co-workers. Further, no differences in levels of satisfaction were noted between four categories of public sector employment; federal, state, regional, or local.

Simultaneous collaboration and competition, or coopetition, has so far been studied among firms or non-profit organizations, leaving the public arena largely unexplored. This study focuses on identifying and measuring common benefit generation by local government actors in coopetition. We purposefully choose a metropolis composed of 41 municipalities setting to identify and measure those effects of coopetition that cannot be achieved by individual actors alone. We use real data and tariffs to run simulations that identify common and individual benefits generated in gas and electricity distribution. We find that savings can be achieved by mutualizing energy procurement, even though the distribution of savings is not equal among municipalities. We substantiate that energy communities can act as coopetitive platforms to optimize energy costs of municipalities.

Non-profit organizations engaged in environmental issues has been increasingly recognized by many people. The success of non-profit organizations that pursued by increasing the positive image obtained from media relations. This study aimed to analyze the strategy of Public Relations (PR) WWF-Indonesia in improving the image of the organization. This study was conducted with a quantitative approach and qualitative approach. The method used is survay on two student organizations Bogor Agricultural University who worked with WWF-Indonesia, they are from Fisheries Diving Club (FDC) and the Association of Student Interest in Sciences of Communication and Community Development (HIMASIERA). Data analysis included Spearman Rank test and Chi Square used to look at the relationship between PR strategy with the image of a non-profit organization. The results of the study, namely: 1) there is a relationship between individual characteristics with the image of a company that is formed; 2) there is a relationship between the public relation activities undertaken by the company's image.Keywords: environmental issue, media relation, student organizations ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ABSTRAKOrganisasi nirlaba yang bergerak di isu-isu lingkungan telah semakin diakui oleh banyak orang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah survai pada dua organisasi mahasiswa Institut Pertanian Bogor yang bekerja dengan WWF-Indonesia yang berasal dari Fisheries Diving Club (FDC) dan Asosiasi Mahasiswa Peminat Ilmu Komunikasi dan Pengembangan Masyarakat (HIMASIERA). Analisis data termasuk uji Rank Spearman dan Chi Square, digunakan untuk melihat hubungan antara strategi PR dengan citra sebuah organisasi nirlaba. Hasil studi, yaitu: 1) terdapat hubungan antara karakteristik individu dengan citra perusahaan yang terbentuk; 2) ada hubungan antara kegiatan hubungan masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh citra perusahaan.Kata kunci: isu lingkungan, hubungan media, organisasi mahasiswa

La surveillance réglementaire de la qualité de l'air en France est confiée aux associations régionales agréées de surveillance de la qualité de l'air (Aasqa) telles qu'Atmo Hauts-de-France. Elles s'appuient sur une palette d'outils et leur expertise pour mesurer les polluants dans l'air de leur territoire, alerter les populations en cas d'épisode de pollution, répondre aux exigences réglementaires de surveillance définies au niveau européen, tout en prenant en compte les spécificités régionales. Cet article présente les différents outils utilisés par les Aasqa, et plus particulièrement Atmo Hauts-de-France, pour surveiller et estimer la qualité de l'air. L'association régionale opère ainsi un ensemble de stations de mesures fixes et mobiles pour suivre en continu les concentrations de polluants réglementés ou non sur son territoire, et dispose d'outils de modélisation pour évaluer et prévoir la qualité de l'air en tous points de la région. Cet article présente également certains des paramètres météorologiques qui influencent la qualité de l'air de la région Hauts-de-France, particulièrement concernée par les épisodes de pollution aux particules. Regulatory air quality monitoring in France is performed by government-approved non-profit organisations called AASQAs, one of which is Atmo Hauts-de-France. These organisations rely on decades of accumulated air quality expertise and use several techniques to measure air pollutant concentrations, inform the public when pollutant levels are unhealthy, and comply with E.U. air quality monitoring regulations. This paper gives an overview of the tools used by AASQAs, and more particularly by Atmo Hauts-de-France, to monitor and forecast air quality. The year-round continuous monitoring of air pollutant levels at fixed sites is supplemented by short-term measurements made with fully-equipped vehicles or trailers and by modelling tools that forecast air quality and estimate pollutant levels where there are no measurements. AASQAs study pollutants which ambient concentrations are regulated by European air quality standards as well as other pollutants which are not regulated in this way. This work also discusses some of the meteorological factors, that affect air quality in the region Hauts-de-France, which is heavily impacted by particulate matter pollution.

This dissertation examines the claim that Age Friendly Cities (AFCs) represents an effective and revolutionary policy approach to population aging. The AFC approach is a placebased policy program intended to enhance the ‘fit’ between senior citizens and their environment. Mainstream accounts of AFCs claim that the program represents a paradigmatic shift in the way we think about aging, to move away from an individual health deficit approach to one that seeks to improve local environments by empowering seniors and local policy actors. However, initial critical literature notes that while AFCs may offer the potential to expand social and physical infrastructure investments to accommodate diverse population needs, they are being popularized in a conjuncture where the public sector is being restructured through narrow projects of neoliberalism that call for limiting public redistribution. This literature calls for further empirical studies to better understand the gap between AFC claims and practice. I heed this call through a qualitative case study of AFCs in the City of Toronto; a particularly relevant case because the recent Toronto Seniors Strategy has been critiqued for being more symbolic than substantive. My research represents a critical policy study as I understand AFCs not as a technical policy tool but as a political object attractive to conflicting progressive and neoliberal projects that use rhetorical and practical strategies to ensure their actualization. My approach is normative as I seek to provide insight for a transformative ‘right to the city’ for senior citizens through the AFC approach. I use literature on citizenship to understand the multiplicity of political projects that seek to expand or narrow the relations between people, environments and institutions through the AFC program. This understanding is based on the meanings 82 different policy actors from local government, the non-profit sector, academia, and other levels of government make of their everyday work in creating age-friendly environments. The broad question I ask is: How do local policy actors understand the rhetoric and practice of AFCs in Toronto and how do these understandings illustrate particular expansive and narrow political projects that affect the development of a right to the city for senior citizens through this policy program? I begin with an initial Case Chapter that scopes age friendly policy work in Toronto from a ‘seeing like a city’ perspective that identifies the complex multi-scalar and multi-actor nature of this policy domain. The Recognizing Seniors and Role of Place Chapters then examine AFCs rhetorically with respect to how local policy actors understand the ‘person’ and the ‘environment’. The Rescaling Redistribution and Restructuring Governance Chapters explore the practice of AFCs, including how local policy actors understand their capacities to design and deliver age-friendly services and amenities and the institutional mechanisms at their disposal to action AFCs. My findings challenge the claim that the AFC policy approach is effective, let alone revolutionary. I learn from policy actors that narrow projects of restructuring work to assemble seemingly progressive rhetoric and practice around active aging and localism to reduce universal public provision, expand the role of private citizens and their families to provide care, and use local policy actors as residual providers of last resort. My research documents how more expansive understandings of senior citizens as rights bearers and the role of the public and non-profit sector to recognize and redistribute on this basis are also in operation. Understanding these political projects more deeply through the AFC policy program helps me to offer policy insight as to what is needed both rhetorically and practically to craft a more effective and revolutionary alternative AFC model based on a right to the city for senior citizens.

Subject. This article discusses the problems of accounting for non-financial tangible assets associated with the introduction of new FSBU (Russian Federal Accounting Standards) for commercial organizations and non-profit organizations outside the public sector. Objectives. The article aims to study and systematize the impact of the new FSBU regulations on the accounting for non-financial tangible assets, justify the convergence of this accounting with IFRS regulations, identify problems, and justify the prospects for their solution. Methods. For the study, I used the methods of critical analysis, synthesis, comparison, observation, and the analogy approach. Results. The article describes the impact of the adoption of the new FSBU on the accounting for non-financial tangible assets, such as inventories, fixed assets, investment real estate, biological assets. It identifies the degree to which this accounting is linked to IFRS regulations, as well as the problems associated with the recognition, evaluation and reflection in the reporting of non-financial tangible assets in the reporting of Russian organizations as a result of the introduction of the new FSBU. The article shows the prospects for solving the problematic aspects of accounting for non-financial tangible assets of Russian organizations. Conclusions and Relevance. The introduction of the new FSBU will help significantly bring the accounting for non-financial tangible assets to IFRS requirements. The introduction of the new FSBU does not eliminate all differences from IFRS requirements in accounting for and reporting of non-financial tangible assets of Russian organizations. Solving the problematic aspects of the introduction of regulations of the new FSBU will contribute to the prospects for further reform of the Russian accounting. The results obtained have both applied and theoretical applications in the field of financial accounting.
