COVID-19 pandemic forced most of the high education institutions to revert their teaching and learning process from face-to-face teaching system to the process of teaching and learning through the use of electronic platforms. Due to this situation, each high education institution has defined one or a set of electronic platforms to continue to guarantee the effectiveness of teaching classes during this period. It was from the above that this research was developed, which aimed to analyze the perception of teachers at the Pedagogical University of Maputo about accessibility and the use of electronic platforms as a resource to support face-to-face teaching during the term of COVID-19 pandemic. The results showed that most of the teachers interact with the students via WhatsApp and Email through their mobile devices and laptops.

Developments in economy and labor market have always been much quicker than developments in high education and this gap has always played a big challenge to employers, as well as high education institutions. While some countries and high education institutions try to follow ever-changing market needs and use digital technologies to lower this gap and innovate on curricula development, others, like Bosnia and Herzegovina, haven't done much to lower this gap between market needs and high education curricula. This paper analyses importance of modern teaching methods in curricula development in high education institution in the BiH. New teaching methods were introduced to class for one semester, while in other class traditions teaching methods were used. It was found that students in this class have much higher skills and competences, and what is most important they needed less time to understand and gain knowledge about subject. Moreover, students in class where new teaching methods were used had higher grades than students were traditional methods were used.

The sociological construction process consists of several stages. The fi rst one is theoretical basis for the professional fi eld of humanitarian technology. Human technologies have non-material elements as their components which includes knowledge, ideas, sign environment. The second stage of design is building of model of professional competences. The third stage is interaction of high education institution with competent expert community. It has been found that a new type of relationship, the priority of which is involvement of employers in development and implementation of high education institution’s educational policy appears in the modern conditions. The present investigation aims to expose the implementation of a management strategy, in which the objective was to strengthen the academic staff profile, guide professors in an educative context of a high education institution, and help their professional development, so that to contribute positively in the training of university students. For that purpose, it was necessary that the educative institution had an administrative-academic management that favored the integration of professors with the necessary profile for the formation of the university students. This work was based on the analysis of SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) results and polls carried out with the studied population allowing the implementation of a strategy. This, in turn, allowed the application of a theoretical-methodological system, having as a result the increase from 32% to 58% in the recognition of professors with an ideal profile, awarded by the “Programa para el Desarrollo Profesional Docente” (PRODEP), and an increment from 12% to 31% of the professor-researcher participation in the “Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología”.

The purpose of this research study, which employed a quantitative research design, was to determine if there was a difference in the grades achieved by students who were enrolled in an entry-level Foundations of Education course using Open Educational Resources (OER) versus the grades achieved by students who used textbooks in other course sections. The goal was to find out whether OER was of the same or higher quality as textbooks in our minority-serving higher education institution. The outcomes revealed that there was no significant difference in grades for course sections that used OER when compared to course sections that used textbooks. Thus, it can be concluded that OER were as good as the textbook usage. The study was conducted at Hostos Community College (HCC), a two-year college of City University of New York (CUNY). CUNY is comprised of 25 campuses across the five boroughs in New York City, USA.
