This viewpoint paper is about how to prepare and respond to a halal crisis. Many companies are preparing for the wrong kind of crisis. Too many companies treat a halal issue and halal crisis as a foreign material problem, like finding metal or glass in food, for which a trade or public product recall is initiated with apology. Poorly managed halal crises hit the bottom line hard and can ultimately kill a company. Getting it right, on the other hand, can have its positive effects. Halal crises can also be an opportunity, although probably not experienced during a crisis itself, which could improve halal trust, Islamic values, and its network. This could strengthen a halal brand, sales, and company market share. However, this is only possible with the right actions and communication with a halal issue and crisis. Best practice halal crisis management is founded on four pillars: process, control, organisation, and information. This requires solid preparation and practice.

<p><em>Abstrak</em> – <strong>CV. Gajah Mungkur adalah salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang bordir kain. Perusahaan ini mengalami pasang surut penjualan produknya selama dua tahun terakhir. Untuk itu dalam penelitian ini menggunakan strategi seperti analisis SWOT sebagai pendekatan perusahaan menghadapi persaingan bisnis penjualan serta pendekatan dinamika sistem dalam memberikan rekomendasi terhadap keputusan atau kebijakan perusahaan terkait nilai omset penjualan dan nilai profit perusahan yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor ketidakpastian (uncertainty). Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan ANP dengan software Super Decisions, didapatkan bahwa alternatif strategi yang tepat bagi perusahaan CV. Gajah Mungkur untuk melanjutkan proses bisnisnya yang lebih baik adalah dengan cara memberikan promo diskon dan melakukan pemasaran secara online. Berdasarkan analisis output hasil simulasi skenario, bahwa bila perusahaan menerapkan skenario diskon harga produk sebesar 5% perusahaan akan mendapatkan penambahan jumlah penjualan sebanyak 139.258 unit. Kemudian bila perusahaan menerapkan skenario diskon produk sebesar 10% perusahaan akan mendapatkan penambahan jumlah penjualan sebanyak 151.918 unit. Selanjutnya adalah bila perusahaan menerapkan skenario diskon produk sebesar 15% perusahaan akan mendapatkan penambahan jumlah penjualan sebanyak 164.577 unit. Selain itu bila perusahaan menerapkan pemasaran secara online, bila perusahaan menerapkan promosi online salah satunya di online shop shopee maka perusahaan akan mendapatkan penambahan jumlah penjualan sebanyak 174.533 unit.</strong></p><p><em>Abstract</em> - <strong>CV. Gajah Mungkur is one of the companies engaged in fabric embroidery. This company has experienced ups and downs in the sales of its products as per the data for the last two years. For this reason, this study uses strategies such as SWOT analysis as a company approach to dealing with sales business competition as well as a system dynamic approach in providing recommendations on company decisions or policies related to the value of sales turnover and the value of company profits which are influenced by uncertainty factors. The results of this study are based on the results of ANP processing with Super Decisions, it was found that the right alternative strategy for CV. Gajah Mungkur, to continue its better business process, is by providing discount promos and marketing online. Based on the output analysis scenario simulation results, that if the company applies a 5% discount on product price scenarios, the company will get an additional sales volume of 139,258 units. Then if the company applies a product discount scenario of 10%, the company will get an additional sales number of 151,918 units. Furthermore, if the company applies a product discount scenario of 15%, the company will get an additional sales number of 164,577 units. Besides, if the company implements online marketing, if the company implements online promotions, one of which is the online shopee, the company will get an additional sales number of 174,533 unit.</strong></p><p><strong><em>Keywords - </em></strong><em>SWOT, ANP, System Dynamics Simulation</em><em>.</em></p>

AbstractAchieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a long-term task, which puts forward high requirements on the sustainability of related policies and actions. Using the text analysis method, we analyze the China National Sustainable Communities (CNSCs) policy implemented over 30 years and its effects on achieving SDGs. We find that the national government needs to understand the scope of sustainable development more comprehensively, the sustained actions can produce positive effects under the right goals. The SDGs selection of local governments is affected by local development levels and resource conditions, regions with better economic foundations tend to focus on SDGs on human well-being, regions with weaker foundations show priority to basic SDGs on the economic development, infrastructures and industrialization.

InCentros Ltd and Erhvers-og Selskabsstyrelesen (hereinafter Centros),1 the European Court of Justice ruled that it is contrary to Article 52 (now Article 432) and Article 58 (now Article 48) of the EC Treaty for the authorities of a member State (in casu Denmark) to refuse to register a branch of a company formed under the law of another member State (in casu the United Kingdom) in which it has its registered office, even if the company concerned has never conducted any business in the latter State and intends to carry out its entire business in the State in which the branch is to be set up. By avoiding the need to form a company there it would thus evade the application of the rules governing the provision for and the paying-up of a minimum share capital in force in that State. According to the Court, this does not, however, prevent the authorities of the member State in which the branch is to be set up from adopting appropriate measures for preventing or penalising fraud, either with regard to the company itself, if need be in co-operation with the member State in which it was formed, or with regard to its members, where it has been determined that they are in fact attempting, by means of the formation of a company, to evade their obligations towards creditors established in the territory of the member State of the branch.

Best practice guidelines for the disinfection of ultrasound transducers and infection prevention in ultrasound departments are generally recommended by either government health groups or the ultrasound societies of individual countries. The literature shows a wide variance in not only transducer cleaning methods but basic hygiene practices in the ultrasound workplace. This paper describes results from a UK survey of disinfection of ultrasound transducers and hygiene practice in the workplace. The survey revealed that some ultrasound practitioners did not follow current guidelines with regard to the correct disinfection method of transducers, cords or ultrasound machine keyboards. Furthermore, the survey exposed the lack of training from the product manufacturers on how to use the disinfection product appropriately. These inconsistencies may be responsible for compliance issues and highlight the need for an awareness campaign and a unified approach to infection control by ultrasound practitioners.

This paper contributes to the literature on innovation brokerage by analysing the effects of brokerage activities on the innovation and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The authors provide a detailed description of the Technology Transfer Service (TTS), credited as a European best-practice innovation broker, at Area Science Park in Italy. They then carry out an exploratory econometric analysis, the results of which show that the support provided by the TTS enables research–industry collaboration and has positive effects on product and process innovation in SMEs, but it appears not to affect the generation of new patents in SMEs. The results also suggest that the growth in innovation enabled by the support of TTS has a positive effect on the SMEs' revenue growth and job creation. However the innovation broker is more effective in relation to larger firms than it is for micro-enterprises.

Abstract The authors present the issues and challenges related to the changes in status of a company and its impact on competitiveness. Status changes of companies, mostly mergers and acquisitions of companies, are one of the ways in which capital owners and management direct economic activities with the aim of maximizing profits. In order to make the right and justified decision, in terms of achieving the economic interests of the company, it is essential to know the laws and regulations in this area. This paper should provide answers on various questions which will be presented to decision makers in every company, considering status changes. Bearing in mind that the question of status changes often associated with an international element, the authors will pay special attention on the EU legislation and current legal framework in the Republic of Serbia.

Background: A regional Stroke Report Card identified poor performance on system efficiency, effectiveness, and integration of stroke best practice. This engaged regional funders and 17 organizations (11 acute, 6 rehab) to collaborate in stroke system planning. The focus included stroke unit care and access to timely and appropriate rehabilitation, including increased access for severe stroke. Changes in acute care, including pre-hospital, have facilitated access to stroke unit care in the city. A model of patient flow from acute care was needed to understand other system capacity needs. Purpose: To use best practice and benchmarks to delineate post-acute patient flow and facilitate alignment of resources for inpatient rehabilitation. Methods: Administrative data from national reporting and local rehab referral system databases were used to review current system usage from acute care. A model of proportional distribution of cases from acute, specifically to inpatient rehab, was established using provincial benchmarks, evidence informed targets, and organization market share of total inpatient rehab system capacity. Iterative discussions were required to confirm the organizations’ commitment to stroke best practice. New volume and case mix changes were applied to determine capacity and resource planning needs across organizations. Results: The best practice model, approved by all stakeholders, proposes 40% of stroke patients discharged alive from acute care should access inpatient, 13% outpatient rehabilitation and 6% to Complex Continuing Care and Long Term Care. Current practice is 26%, <5% and 13% respectively. A projected volume increase of 278 patients is distributed across 5/6 rehab providers. This results in a total proportional system shift from 20% (n=160) to 41.5% (n =446) of severe patients receiving access to high intensity rehab. A reduction in the overall proportion of moderate and mild stroke patients from 65% (519) to 49.5% (n=534) and 15% (n=119) to 9% (n=96) respectively. Conclusion: Significant investment/redistribution of resources within the system is required to support patient flow and provide care in the right place at the right time. System funder support is critical to create a quality of care (best practice) system.

One of the great traditions in Islamic education institutions in Indonesia is teaching by transmitting Islamic values as found in classical books written centuries ago. The majority in Indonesia, the classic book is better known as the Kitab Kuning. Teaching with the Kitab Kuning is usually done in Islamic Boarding Schools. Examining Kitab Kuning requires qualified Arabic language skills at least passively. Unfortunately, not all Islamic boarding schools that have a variety of superior programs in certain fields, are weak in the field of studying Kitab Kuning. One of them is the Islamic Boarding School Mu'allimin Muhammadiyyah Sawah Dangka which has the flagship Tahfizh Alquran program but is weak in the study of Kitab Kuning. One of the main factors is the lack of adequate quality of human resources. For this reason, this community service activity aims to provide training while introducing new, lightweight methods in learning Arabic, namely the Bihaqatil Jumal method. This method emphasizes learning Arabic using the right brain. After a series of community service activities, teachers and Islamic boarding schools felt helped and gained new experiences in learning Arabic methods to study Kitab Kuning. In addition, both the assisted object and the resource person requested that this kind of community service be continued.

In the human capital era, the strategic importance of measurement is unmistakable.  Therefore, the  objective  of  this  study  was  to  qualitatively  evaluate  a  methodology  for  assessing  the strategic alignment of a recruitment function. Persons working in the recruitment best practice community of a mining company were targeted as the case study for this research.  Individual (one-on-one) and focus group interviews were conducted to elicit the research data.  Thematic coding was used to identify the emerging themes from the research data.  The findings indicated that  this methodology can be used effectively  to determine  the alignment of  the  recruitment function with the strategic objectives of the company.  However, the bottom line contribution is still unclear.
