Business Development Strategy on Laundry Cleaning Shoes in Bogor City (Case Study: Step'nShu Shoes Treatment)

The shoe laundry business is one type of MSMEs in the fashion sector which is included in the creative service industry. The demand for the shoe laundry business is increasing, especially for students, workers as well as busy housewives. Shoe laundry services are an alternative to save time and energy. To be able to maintain existence in achieving the goals of a business unit, a development strategy needs to be done. This study aims to identify internal and external factors, analyze the factors that influence the Step'nShu laundry development strategy and determine the formulation of a development strategy. The sampling technique was using purposive sampling method. The number of respondents was 5 respondents who are owners, employees, fashion experts. The research was conducted using the key success factor analysis tool, IFE, EFE to analyze internal and external factors of the Step'nShu Laundry Shoes, IE matrix to see where Step'nShu's position, SWOT to map alternative strategies and QSPM to formulate strategic priorities. Based on the research results, The strategy formulation results from the SWOT analysis resulted in eight alternative strategies, namely utilizing social media and education about shoe laundry, clarifying the positioning of the Step'nShu Laundry Shoes, more active and consistent promotion, better employee recruitment, studying competition with similar services, holding events regarding socialization of shoe hygiene, using the latest shoe washing technology tools and planning to open new branches. The QSPM analysis produces the main priority strategy, namely promotions that are carried out more actively and consistently. Keywords: development strategy, EFE, IFE, SWOT, QSPM.

Penetepan strategi pengelolaan sampah dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk mengurangi laju timbulan sampah di TPA Burangkeng Kabupaten Bekasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi faktor internal dan eksternal yang menjadi kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan ancaman bagi TPA Burangkeng, kemudian merumuskan alternatif strategi pengembangannya. Metode penelitian menggunakan analisis SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threath) dan AHP (Analitical Hierarchy Process). Berdasarkan hasil analisis SWOT terhadap faktor internal dan eksternal TPA Burangkeng, diperoleh alternatif strategi bagi pengembangan kebijakan operasional, yakni strategi perencanaan SDM, strategi perbaikan metode dan teknologi, serta strategi pengadaan sarana dan alat. Hasil perumusan strategi dari analisis SWOT tersebut kemudian ditentukan prioritasnya dengan menggunakan AHP. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan metode AHP diketahui kriteria utama yang perlu diperhatikan dalam pengembangan adalah kriteria teknologi dengan bobot prioritas sebesar 0,371, dan sub-kriteria untuk pencapaian teknologi adalah melalui inovasi pengelolaan dengan bobot sebesar 0,325. Sehingga strategi pengembangan yang didapat adalah melalui strategi perbaikan metode dan teknologi pengelolaan, dengan bobot prioritas sebesar 0,540.ABSTRACTThe determination of a waste management strategy is carried out as an effort to reduce the rate of waste generation in the TPA Burangkeng, Bekasi Regency. The purpose of this research is to identify internal and external factors which are the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of TPA Burangkeng, then formulate alternative development strategies. The research method uses SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threath) and AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process). Based on the results of the SWOT analysis on the internal and external factors of the Burangkeng TPA, an alternative strategy was obtained for the development of operational policies, namely the HR planning strategy, the strategy for improving methods and technology, and the strategy for the procurement of facilities and tools. The results of the strategy formulation from the SWOT analysis are then prioritized using AHP. Based on the results of research with the AHP method, it is known that the main criteria that need to be considered in development are technology criteria with a priority weight of 0.371, and the sub-criteria for technological achievement is through management innovation with a weight of 0.325. Thus, that the development strategy obtained is through a strategy to improve management methods and technology, with a priority weight of 0.540.

The number of tourists visiting Semarang City is increasing significantly year by year. However, this increase is not accompanied by an improvement in the quantity and the quality of tourist destinations in Semarang. Banjir Kanal Barat area is one of the potential tourist destinations in Semarang, but so far the existing facilities in this area are very limited. In addition, there is no any tourism activities which can be done even. Moreover, this area tends to be very unattractive. This study aims to analyze the development strategy of Banjir Kanal Barat (BKB/western canal) as an interesting tourism destination by analyzing internal and external factors. The data were analyzed descriptively qualitative to determine BKB's development strategy through SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats). The results of this study formulated 10 (ten) alternative strategies for the development of Banjir Kanal Barat as a tourism destination area. The three best alternative choices are: (1) creating tourist facilities which can be enjoyed by the community, (2) developing special water attractions, (3) inviting investors and cooperating with various parties.

The rapid growth in the food and beverage service industry has also triggered the growth of new various concepts of business, one of which is the coffee shop. One of the coffee shop in Denpasar, namely Kandera Coffee, which has only been established since May 2020, doesn’t know yet the right strategy for developing their business. This study aims to determine the quadrant position of the Kandera Coffee shop when viewed through internal and external factors using the Internal-External Matrix and determine the appropriate priority development strategies for the the Kandera Coffee shop business. The methods used are SWOT and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). The research data were obtained from 5 expert respondents. The results showed that Kandera Coffee had 7 strengths, 5 weaknesses, 5 opportunities and 4 threats. Internal factors that influence the strength factor in the development of the Kandera Coffee business, namely the consistency of the taste of the product and service (0.29) and the weakness factor, namely the layout of Kandera Coffee shop is less ergonomic (0.13) and not very well known to the public (0, 13). While the external factors that influence the opportunity factor, namely build good relationship with customers (0.36) and the threat factors that influence, namely the level of coffee shop competitors is getting higher (0.34). The position of the Kandera Coffee shop is in cell V (five). This position is (hold and maintain) keep and maintaining with score the Interal Factor Evaluation (IFE) is (2.20) and External Factor Evaluation (EFE) is (2.56). Cell V consists of market penetration strategies and product development. The strategic priority order obtained based on the QSPM matrix is to provide the best service to customers (4,94), expand marketing on advertising and social media (4,87), improve product quality and maintain consistency of taste (4.63), develop a cozy coffee shop concept (4,61), give discounts to customers (4,59), and add a variety of coffee and food menus (4,10).  ABSTRAK Kawasan konservasi mangrove di Desa Bedono memiliki luas ± 300 hektar. Sebagian masyarakat memanfaatkan buah dan daun mangrove jenis Avicennia sp. untuk diolah menjadi makanan ringan. Keindahannya banyak menarik perhatian pengunjung untuk berwisata. Potensi tersebut belum dapat dikelola secara maksimal, sedangkan kegiatan konservasi mangrove yang dilakukan oleh Kelompok Mangrove Bahari sebatas melakukan penanaman mangrove, monitoring, dan penyuluhan.  Alternatif strategi yang tepat dibutuhkan oleh Kelompok Mangrove Bahari supaya dapat mengembangkan kegiatan konservasi mangrove di Desa Bedono. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : 1.) mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kegiatan konservasi mangrove; dan 2.) memperoleh alternatif strategi yang tepat untuk mengembangkan kegiatan konservasi mangrove di Desa Bedono. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskripsi studi kasus. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi pustaka. Data yang diperoleh didiskusikan melalui fokus grup diskusi (FGD) untuk diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis SWOT. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengembangan kegiatan konservasi mangrove di Desa Bedono adalah faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Prioritas alternatif strategi yang terpilih adalah menjaga dan meningkatkan kelestarian ekosistem mangrove, meningkatkan koordinasi dengan stakeholders, melakukan konsultasi dalam bidang ekowisata mangrove, melakukan studi banding ke objek ekowisata mangrove, dan melakukan kerjasama dengan pihak yang berkompeten dalam bidang produksi dan pemasaran produk olahan mangrove. Kata Kunci : Mangrove, Konservasi, Pengembangan, Strategi ABSTRACT The Mangrove conservation area in Bedono village  covers an area of ± 300 hectares. While, the Mangrove Bahari group’s conservation activities are limited to planting mangroves, monitoring, and counceling. Therefore, alternative strategies are needed for the Mangrove Bahari Group to develop mangrove conservation activities. The purpose of this study is : 1.) to determine the factors that affect mangrove conservation activities; and 2.) to obtain appropriate alternative strategies for developing mangrove conservation activities in Bedono village. The research used a descriptive case study method in which a set of interviews, observation and literature studies were adopted. SWOT analysis and a focus group discussion (FGD) with all members of Mangrove Bahari Group was applied in the formulation of development strategies. The analysis showed that the factors that influence the development of mangrove conservation activities in Bedono village are internal and external factors. The priority recommendation include the maintenance and improvement for the sustainability of mangrove ecosystems, improvement of  coordination with stakeholders, consultation of management mangrove ecotourism, comparation studies of mangrove ecotourism, and  cooperation of production and marketing mangrove processed products.. Keywords: Mangrove, Conservation, Development, Strategy.

The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that play a role in the development of pempek quality favored by consumers and to study internal and external factors that influence the development of pempek processing industry and its implications for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats as well as formulate alternative development strategies for Pempek industry.The sampling technique used in this study is simple random sampling with a sample area of 95 respondents consisting of 10 pempek processors (producers) and 85 consumers. Data processing is done by using factor analysis to know the dominant factor of pempek industry development. SWOT analysis is used to determine the development strategy of the pempek industry.The results showed that the factors that play an important role in the development of pempek industry are organoleptic factors consisting of taste, color, softness and aroma; Consumer prices, food hygiene and safety with regard to physical quality, chemical quality, shelf life and strategic location. Pempek industrial development strategy that must be done is by the application of practical and efficient technology, excellent products, hygiene and security, extension of marketing network through cooperation with marketing agents both at homeland and foreign countries, cooperation, restaurant, retail and supermarket, promotional strategy improved through Advertising, leaflets, radio, television, internet and publicity.

This study aims to determine the priority strategies of several alternative strategies in IndiHome which are formulated using SWOT analysis. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data used are primary. Sampling using a purposive sampling technique and get seven informants. Primary data generated from the interviews were analyzed using SAP and ETOP to diagnose factors including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. After that, these factors are formulated in the SWOT matrix to determine alternative strategies. Strategy alternatives are then formulated in the QSPM matrix to obtain priority strategy results for IndiHome. The validity test in this study was carried out by triangulation of sources. The results showed that there were four alternative strategies for IndiHome Telkom Area of West Nusa Tenggara. Based on four alternative strategies, the priority strategy for IndiHome which is determined by QSPM matrix is to upgrade the quality of services provided to customers regularly with a total weight of 7,051. The results of this study are expected to be able to assist in the framework of thinking about strategic management knowledge in the Internet Service Provider (ISP) industry and also provide additional information and insights in the selection of alternative strategies as well as new insights about the condition of the company from an external perspective.

One of the efforts to develop village economic in West Sumbawa Regency is to establish and develop Village Owned Enterprise (Bumdes) based on agriculture. The purpose of this research is to find out internal and external factors of Bumdes based on agriculture; and formulating strategies for developing Bumdes based on agriculture in West Sumbawa Regency. This research was conducted in West Sumbawa Regency. 40 respondents were selected by purposive sampling. This research method is survey method. The instrument validity test was carried out with the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique, and for the reliability test with the Cronbach Alpha formula. Data collected were analysed using SWOT analysis. The results show that internal factors in the form of the main strength of Bumdes based on agriculture is the business managed by Bumdes serving the basic needs of community, while the main weakness is the capacity of managers managing Bumdes still lacking, and the absence of marketing networks. For external factors, the main opportunities of Bumdes based on agriculture are the support of local and central government regulations, the area and potential of agriculture can be developed optimally as well as the development and expansion of agricultural businesse, while the main threats of Bumdes are the lack of community participation in Bumdes activities. Results of  SWOT analysis, the strategy Bumdes based on agriculture in West Sumbawa Regency can be done using the W-O (Weakness-opportunity) strategy, which is a strategy that minimizes the weaknesses that are owned to seize opportunities. Development of ecotourism is one way to preserve the forest and also for the welfare of the surrounding community. Salang Pangeran ecotourism in Timbang Lawan village is part of the buffer of Gunung Leuser National Park. Since 2014, people of Timbang Lawan village have opened the Salang Pangeran ecotourism for public. Tourists who visit the ecotourism increase significantly. The purpose of this study is to determine the value of potential objects and natural attractions, internal and external factors that affect the development of Salang Pangeran ecotourism and its development strategies. Methods of data collection by conducting literature studies, field observations, interviews with communities and stakeholders and conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Data analysis on the potential of Objects and Natural Tourist Attraction (ODTWA) described descriptively and it processed by using Guidance Analysis of the Operational Area-Objects and Natural Tourist Attraction (ADO-ODTWA) and SWOT analysis to formulate strategic alternatives. The results of ODTWA analysis in the Salang Pangeran ecotourism area for each criterias are known for attractiveness value is 1260 points (high), accessibility, 725 points (medium), condition of socio-economic environment, 425 points (medium), accommodation, 180 points (high), insfrastructure and supporting facilities, 300 points (high) and availability of clean water, 900 points (high). There are 9 alternative strategies for the Salang Pangeran ecotourism development plan

This study was designed to describe the implementation of environmental education through the Adiwiyata program at SDN Tlogosari Kulon 03 Semarang. This type of research is descriptive research with qualitative and quantitative. The method used to develop a development strategy by taking into account internal and external factors using a SWOT analysis. SDN Tlogosari Kulon 03 Semarang has received 80.25% of the Adiwiyata component. The results of the IFAS and EFAS matrix can be seen that the IFAS score is -0.13 and the EFAS score is 0.05. Both matrix results show negative and positive values so plotting in the Grand Strategy matrix will depend on quadrant III. The strategy in quadrant III (W-O) is a priority that must be given the attention needed for a breakthrough to take advantage of existing opportunities to optimize weaknesses in the internal. Schools need to be considered about various parties, the community around the school and published at home so there is harmony between the value invested in the school, which is done at home and in the community. Teachers need to develop alternative learning strategies for environmental education that are applied through practice in everyday life so that it becomes habituation and civilization.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to implement the strategies selection process in a proposed formulated mathematical framework to prioritize selected strategies with the interaction of other groups of strategies, known as the strategies interaction model (SIM).Design/methodology/approachSWOT analysis is a popular useful strategic planning tool, which analyzes organizations internal and external factors. The traditional SWOT procedure lists internal and external factors and derives four groups of strategies based on the organization’s strategic position. SWOT is easy to use as a business analyzing tool, while it is not competent enough for strategic formulation. With the emergence of the economy’s vicissitudes, undulations in the markets and multiple changes, and various variables in the industrial competitive environment, selection of the organization strategies confront uncertainty in decision making. The SIM framework presents a solution to select alternative strategies for organizations in unpredictable situations.FindingsThe findings show that SIM is a reliable approach to evaluate, select and rank organization’ strategies. SIM proposes alternative strategies due to the uncertainty of the organization’ environment with respect to the four strategic positions. The SIM’ proposed ranking process is in accordance with the highest impact of each strategy on each other. Furthermore, it possesses advantages of AHP, ANP and other applied multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) techniques in SWOT analysis.Practical implicationsIn this paper SIM is applied within a dairy company located in the north of Iran.Originality/valueSIM has the advantages of the classic SWOT and fills the gaps of MCDM methods application in the SWOT analysis. Moreover, it provides a formulated algorithm for the organizations to face the uncertainty of the environment. SIM philosophy can be widely used in the decision and managerial implications.
