This study sought to evaluate the impact of the Indigenisation Policy on the socio-economic emancipation of rural communities in Zimbabwe. A case study approach was taken focusing on the Marange and Zimunya communities in Manicaland Province of Zimbabwe, where diamonds are being mined. Both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies were applied to get a balanced view from these two communities on their socio-economic improvement because of the mining of diamonds, which are a valuable natural resource found in these two communities. Purposive sampling was applied to come up with the sample of senior politicians and traditional leaders. Two Focus groups were formed in the two communities. The study established that the five diamond mining companies doing business in the two communities had failed to honour their pledges of contributing USD10 million each towards the development of the two communities. Only USD400 000 was contributed by two mining companies at the time of the study. Ninety five percent (95%) of the respondents reported that there were no projects that were being implemented to benefit the local communities. It was therefore, concluded that there was limited socio-economic empowerment of the Marange-Zimunya communities by the diamond mining companies. The study recommended the intervention by the Government in order for these mining companies to honour their pledges by coming up with empowerment projects and also by allowing the two communities to have shares in these companies so that they could be economically empowered.

Peat restoration as a government strategic program is a hot issue. This was initially thought to be the result of forest and peat fires which were the source of the worst smoke disasters in 2015. The World Bank estimated the impact of economic losses at Rp. 221 Trilliuns. In accordance with Perpres No. 1 In 2016, the government established the Peat Restoration Agency which became the leader in the implementation of peat restoration in Indonesia. It is important to note that peat restoration was designed with the framework of collaboration with many actors. Governments, communities, NGOs and the private sector are key actors in implementing peat restoration (collaborative governance). The actor's approach is the focus of this research by using collaborative governance theory as the main framework of research. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Researchers found that there was a failure of collaboration between actors in the peat restoration program in Riau. The unclear status of the Regional Peat Restoration Team (TRGD) and the inactivity of the Riau Provincial Government in supporting the peat restoration agenda are the findings of this study. Researchers see there are several factors that cause it to happen. Economic factors are the main because peat restoration is related to investment in forestry and oil palm plantations. Then the cause of the failure of collaboration between these actors was also caused by the lack of commitment from political leaders in Riau.

<p>Total war is not always associated with power seizure using physical means, however, the real meaning is how a country could implement the whole of resources to fight for their national interest. This study is aimed to provide an understanding that total war could be implemented in all areas of activities. The study is conducted with a qualitative descriptive method through a case study approach, library study, interview, and observation in the field. The Government of Canada opened its Innovation Agenda consultations by stating: “Innovation is a Canadian value…. [It] will create jobs, drive growth and improve the lives of all Canadians…. We have the talent, the drive, the dedication and the opportunity to succeed. So, what’s next?” However, it often seems like “what’s next” are policies that fail to recognize, support and leverage innovation in the diverse rural communities that feed our bodies and fuel our economies. This research will use a comparative case study approach to examine how different rural communities successfully leverage innovation systems for community economic development and identify key drivers for rural economic resiliency by exploring: (i) the influence of spatial, relational, and structural dimensions in the development of place-based rural innovation ecosystems; (ii) the influence and role of infrastructure investments; and (iii) the influence of provincial/national policy frameworks on rural community capacity to leverage placebased innovation ecosystems.

The research objective to analyze the growth of the people's salt farming business using the geomembrane method compared to the traditional method to describe the impact of innovation on business sustainability and to explore the sustainability of the people's salt farming business from the perspective of internal stakeholders based on stakeholder theory. The research used a case study approach configurative ideographic studies as a research method. This study concludes that people's salt farming business know the geomembrane of the PUGAR program. The growth rate of using geomembranes is more profitable than using traditional methods, but only a part of farmers' land uses geomembranes because of the inability of capital and the break even point which becomes high due to unstable selling prices. People's salt farming entrepreneurs still have difficulty accessing credit from the government so that some still depend on accounts payable with traders/middlemen for capital. The salt from people's salt farming business is not purchased by PT. Garam because the quality is still not up standard. The CSR received by the community from PT Garam is in the form of social activities, not in the form of activities that support people's salt farming business. For informants of this study, the level of sustainability of people's salt farming business is still high, because salt farming is currently more productive than other farms.

The primary objective of this study is to examine the impact of power disruptions on firm productivity in the manufacturing sector in Nigeria. Using OLS and the Tobit models, results show that power outage variables (measured using hours per day without power and percentage of output lost due to power disruptions) have a negative and significant effect on productivity, particularly on small firms. The significance of power outage variables suggests that there is need for the Nigerian government to come up with ways of improving energy generation and supply, as well as proper maintenance of electricity infrastructure in the country. Deliberate efforts by the government to improve power infrastructure will result in the countrys being able to increase electricity production threefold and thus optimally utilize its installed generating capacity of 5900MW.

Development of village fund management is very much needed by the community so that it can be enjoyed by all levels of society in the villages. The seriousness of the government in developing villages is evidenced by the start of allocation of the Village Fund budget for 2015. The allocation of the Village Fund is mandated by Law (Law) Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages and Government Regulation (PP) Number 6 of 2014 concerning Village Funds Sourced from STATE BUDGET. The regulation explained that the administration of the village government adheres to the principle of decentralization and the task of assistance. The principle of decentralization raises village internal funding (Desa APBD), while the principle of co-administration provides an opportunity for Villages to obtain funding sources from the government above it (APBN, Provincial APBD, Regency / City APBD). This study aims to observe what the development of village funds looks like, how they are implemented and the impact of the use of village funds in supporting development activities and community empowerment. The research method used is a qualitative research method that relies on observing places, actors and activities in Konawe Selatan Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province, which was chosen as a case study. Initial observations show that the Village Fund does not have significant results in improving the welfare of the community. These indications are evident in the welfare of the community which has not improved with the existence of the village fund. Therefore it is necessary to develop a good management of village funds to improve the welfare of rural communities, especially in Konawe Selatan District. The output to be achieved is the scientific publication with ISSN Online and the level of technological Readiness that will be achieved 1-3.
