The study aimed to determine the relationship between nutritional status based on Body Mass Index (BMI) and Tuberculosis (TB) in the age group >18 years. This study further analyzes the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas 2018), a cross-sectional study conducted in all city districts in 34 provinces of Indonesia. Unit samples of this study are population-based in the age group >18 years. The determination of having had TB is if the respondent answered yes to the question: "Has a doctor ever been diagnosed with TB by a period of ≤1 year". Nutritional status based on BMI value by calculating height per body weight. Nutritional status was classified as: underweight: BMI <18.5; normal: BMI ≥18.5 - <25.0; Overweight: BMI ≥25.0 - <27.0; obesity: BMI ≥27.0. The total sample was 624,562. The number of TB sufferers 3,220 (0.5%). The number of underweight respondents 62,456 (9.4%), normal respondents 344,941 (55.2%), overweight and obese respondents 221,021 (35.4%). There is a relationship between nutritional status and TB after controlling for confounding variables such as gender, education, type of work, residence, DM risk factors, and smoking behavior. Underweight has a risk of 7.67 (CI 6.40-9.20) of getting TB compared to overweight/obesity, while normal weight has a risk of 2.55 (CI 2.18-2.98) of getting TB compared to overweight/ obesity after controlled confounding variables. Underweight people have 7.67 times the risk of getting TB, and normal weight has 2.55 times have the prevalence ratio getting TB than obese people. The Additional food program for TB patients whose weight is thin in the age group >18 years.

The double burden of nutrition is very worrying for children in Indonesia. Indonesia has a prevalence of malnutrition of 13,8% and 3,1% was overweight of children, while in Aceh that is 16,8% and 2,9% of overweight. One of the factors is the arrangement of additional food that is not patterned. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between mother's knowledge and attitudes about supplementary food and nutritional status in infants. The study was an analytic survey using a cross sectional approach. Samples were taken as many as 86 toddlers with a simple random technique. Data collection using questionnaires and anthropometric measurements. Knowledge and attitude data are processed according to percentage values, and nutritional status data are processed according index to WFA. The statistical test is chi-square at CI:95%. The results showed that mothers' knowledge and attitudes about supplementary food were still not good, and there were still many toddlers with the best nutritional status. Other results show the relationship between maternal knowledge (p=0,000) and maternal attitudes (p=0,019) regarding supplementary food with nutritional status in toddlers in Woyla Barat District. Conclusions, poor mother's knowledge and attitude about supplementary feeding is related to the high problem of malnutrition and over nutrition. Suggestions, counseling is needed related to providing good and nutritious supplementary food, as well as monitoring the nutritional status of children continuously both in the WFA, HFA and WFH indexs.Beban ganda masalah gizi sangat mengkhawatirkan anak-anak di Indonesia. Purpose: Moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) positively influences bone mineral content (BMC) in prepubertal children, but it is unknown whether this relationship is partially mediated by free leptin index. The aim of this study was to examine whether the relationship between MVPA and total body less head (TBLH) BMC is mediated or moderated by free leptin index in prepubertal children. Methods: We performed a cross-sectional analysis on 401 children (194 girls) from baseline examinations of the Physical Activity and Nutrition in Childhood Study. We applied the four-way decomposition mediation analysis method to assess whether free leptin index, measured from fasted blood samples, mediated the relationship between accelerometer-measured MVPA and TBLH BMC measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. Results: MVPA had a positive controlled direct effect on TBLH BMC in girls and boys (β = 0.010 to 0.011, p < 0.05). There was no mediation or interaction between MVPA, free leptin index and TBLH BMC in girls or boys (β = −0.000 to 0.001, p > 0.05). Conclusion: Our study indicates that MVPA positively influences TBLH BMC through pathways not related to free leptin index in predominantly normal-weight prepubertal children, likely primarily through mechanical loading. The relationships between MVPA, free leptin index and TBLH BMC may be influenced by other factors such as pubertal status and adiposity, so it is unknown whether these observations extend to overweight and obese children at different stages of puberty.

Objective: Despite being an important predictor of morbidity and mortality, routine screening for malnutrition in dialysis patients is not a common practice in Pakistan. Modified Subjective Global Assessment (SGA) is a convenient, inexpensive and practical method to assess nutritional status particularly in resource limited setup. Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted in The Kidney Center Post Graduate Training institute (TKC-PGTI). Patients on maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) were included through non-probability consecutive sampling. A one-time SGA score was calculated based on the history and physical examinations using modified SGA or Dialysis Malnutrition Score (DMS). Chi square test was applied to find association between variables, while to observe the amount of effect of factors on SGA score; binary logistic regression analysis was run. P value of ? 0.05 considered significant. Results: Mild-Moderately malnourished patients were the most frequent in our study 96(64%).None of patient had severe malnourishment. Females were 2.6 times more prone for malnourishment (p value=0.009). More than 5- years on hemodialysis also increased the risk of malnourishment by 12.5 times (p value <0.001). Overweight patients had 85 % less chance of being malnourished as compare to patients with normal weight (p value=0.004). Conclusion: Malnutrition is quite common in hemodialysis patients, which necessitates its regular assessment and monitoring. There is a need to assess the reasons of more malnourishment in female as compared to male. Similarly, the longer duration (> 5 years) on hemodialysis also need attention for prevention and cure of malnourishment.  Continuous...
