Formal class room observation is a very delicate topic in any educational institution. It involves a series of emotions and sentiments that come with the package. In this paper, the researcher will attempt to analyze the factors that affect the process in a relatively significant manner and thereby contribute greatly to the success or failure of the whole process. The researcher will also attempt to explore the various aspects of the process at two tertiary level educational institutions and how they can be controlled in order to maintain the purpose of the process as developmental and constructive rather than a critical, judgmental and/or negative outlook, which eventually defeats the whole idea of classroom observation for performance feedback and growth. The data was collected at two renowned English Language Institutes (ELIs) in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia through an online survey comprising of ten questions including one open-ended question. After analyzing the gathered data, conclusions were formulated and certain suggestive measures were proposed that can benefit the observers to look at the observation process in a better light. It will also help them accomplish the objectives of the process in a more prolific manner and thereby, contribute in achieving a more conscious and thorough professional development of the faculty on the whole.

The emergent situation brought about by COVID 19 has led to an unprecedented change in the educational sector worldwide, including the Sultanate of Oman. Most of the educational institutions here have responded swiftly to fulfill the requirements of academia by switching to an online emergency remote teaching mode overnight. To get adjusted to the ‘new normal,’ teachers across all academic disciplines, including the English language, have had to adapt to new teaching approaches and learn new skills and competencies to confront this challenge. This empirical cross-sectional research study explores the teacher technology self-efficacy, the challenges faced, and the innovative practices adopted by the EFL teachers during the crisis. A mixed-methods approach was used here, including an online survey and in-depth, semi-structured interviews with six teachers. The survey was administered to 100 EFL teachers from fourteen higher-education institutions, whereas the interviews were held with six survey participants. The study found that majority of the teachers had a strong sense of self-efficacy in using technology as well as considerably positive learning experiences and novel innovations, which all resulted in the various ways they faced pandemic-related challenges. The paper gives, in particular, an account of the innovative techniques adopted by the interviewed teachers during the Pandemic crisis. This investigation hopefully adds to the field of knowledge by sharing effective, innovative techniques that have relevance to EFL teaching in Oman and beyond.

The relevance of the problem and task of modern society is to increase the motivation of teachers. Thus, the motivation of teachers' professional activity needs research. The purpose of the article is to study and compare the motivation of teachers' professional activity of preschool and primary education depending on the educational institution, its location, as well as the pedagogical experience of the respondents. Methods of the research: theoretical - in order to highlight the state of study and features of motivation of professional activity of teachers in preschool and primary education, formulation of conclusions of the study, etc. (comparison, generalization, etc.); empirical − to identify indicators of motivation (electronic survey, pedagogical observation); mathematical - to process the results using the computer program IBM SPSS Statistics 23. Results of the research: the attention of scientists (during 1970-2021, according to the Web of Science) is more focused on studying students' motivation than teachers' motivation. We conducted an online survey of 151 respondents (2019-2021). The Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient is equal to 0,830 (for the entire questionnaire). Most teachers of preschool (about 63%) and primary (about 77%) education have optimal motivational complexes, namely: internal motivation or external positive motivation prevails, or their values are the same, but greater than external negative motivation. The internal motivation of teachers prevails among other motivational complexes in the studied variants of comparison, namely depending on: the type of educational institutions of the respondents (preschool and primary education); from the pedagogical experience of the respondents, the location of educational institutions. We confirmed the formation of such (mostly optimal) motivational complexes for professional activities of teachers of preschool and primary education using the c2-criterion; did not find statistically significant differences in the studied indicators of motivation depending on the teaching experience, location of the educational institution.

Abstract The article is part of a research project subsidized by Funadesp, which seeks to make feasible the implementation of a rainwater harvesting system for non-potable purposes in educational institutions. In the work, a number of facts and dates of the Kharkov period of life (1893–1920) of the botanist-algologist Nina Vasilievna Morozova-Vodyanitskaya are given, who graduated from the Kharkov High Women’s Courses, taught at them (as well as in other educational institutions of the city) and studied algae under the guidance of V. M. Arnoldi, Professor of the Departments of Botany of Kharkov University and High Courses. The origin of the rich merchant family allowed N. V. Morozova get both secondary and high education. The Kharkov High Women’s Courses were a huge, rapidly developing non-state high educational institution, similar to the classical university in terms of teaching natural sciences, equipping departments and laboratories, and the number of students. The Department of Botany, where N. V. Morozova studied and worked as a laboratory assistant and then as an assistant, has provided to the students an extensive workshop, participation in excursions outside the city and in expeditions to the basims of Russia. Students of the courses had the opportunity to engage in scientific work in laboratories and at a biological station on the Seversky Donets River. Among the students and junior teachers (colleagues of N. V. Morozova-Vodyanitskaya, who has formed the scientific school of V. M. Arnoldi) there were many well-known botanists, algologists, hydrobiologists who became professors, correspondent members, and so on. It is concluded that the scientific and pedagogical environment surrounding of N. V. Morozov-Vodyanitskaya in Kharkov favored her becoming as a researcher. Only the harsh conditions of the Civil War and devastation delayed the publication of the results of the first work of a young algologist, started in 1913.

In these days education has changed as an essential for everyone. There are many preschools, elementary, secondary, higher secondary schools, universities, arts and science colleges and many. Finding the best school or institution for their children is really very tough for parents in these days. Our work is to create a web application to create online survey, which contains questions and feedbacks about the schools and institutions. The survey questions are related to the attributes, and the behavior of educational institution on behalf of the quality of education, school environment, teaching methodologies, about the management and teachers. And we give authority to attend the survey for the peoples from various places i.e. the former students of various institutions and schools. Thus using our survey we are collecting the data about the schools and institutions, then the data will be handover to the analyst. And the analyst will process the data and make decisions about the institutions and schools. They will decide the ratings for the institutions and schools in Tamilnadu, India. Most of the research on language policies in educational institutions has hitherto focused on the creation, interpretation, or appropriation of language policies that govern language use in the classroom. Language policies, however, can be instantiated or implemented in out-of-classroom settings. Hence, the current study examines the impact of language policies, in terms of both beliefs and practices, as mechanisms of power in communication between staff members in official meetings taking place at higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia. An online survey taken by 208 members, in addition to semi-structured interviews with eight department chairpersons, revealed that the implementation of monolingual English language policies can minimize the proportion of engagement of staff members, who are less competent in English, in department council meetings, committee meetings, and other official meetings. The data also suggested that the majority of participants in the study believe that multilingual language policies (allowing the use of both Arabic and English) should be avoided in order to not exclude non-Arabic speaking staff members from participation in official dialogue. The study concludes with implications for language policy creation and implementation for out-of-classroom English use in EFL educational institutions.

Among the educational institutions of the Armenian city of Nakhichevan-on-Don, a special place was occupied by the Catherine women's gymnasium. This educational institution underwent an evolution from a three-year school to a female gymnasium, the appearance of which marked the manifestation of a rather conservative Armenian society towards female education. Unlike the parish schools Armenian educational institutions of the city, where the teachers were Armenians, the mentioned gymnasium was an educational institution in which a wide range of subjects were taught by teachers of various nationalities. The subjects studied here aligned with the subjects of the gymnasium program, including various languages, mathematics, physics, history, drawing, dance, etc. The city public administration of Nakhichevan-on-Don has always shown touching concern for the Catherine's female gymnasium, and all the problems that the Board of Trustees of the gymnasium faced were promptly resolved. Catherine's female gymnasium enjoyed great prestige among the local population, which was reflected in its overcrowding with students and the emergence of parallel classes.
