This research aims to understand how teachers perceive control mechanisms embedded in the educational system in Poland. In the article, we analyse teachers and school administrators’ online discussions evoked by the decision of Polish Ministry of National Education to close schools in March 2020 in order to protect teachers and students from coronavirus infection. We show that management control mechanisms are crucial in understanding teachers and school administrators’ behaviour. On the one hand, direct forms of control frustrate and demotivate teachers. On the other hand, a combination of diverse forms of control makes teachers comply and continue working despite the growing will to rebel against the system. We argue that the COVID pandemic exposed previously existing problems; therefore, the article’s findings are also applicable beyond the pandemic context.

Character education is a vital instrument in determining the progress of a nation. Therefore the government needs to build educational institutions in order to produce good human resources that are ready to oversee and deliver the nation at a progressive level. It’s just that in reality, national education is not in line with the ideals of national education because the output is not in tune with moral values on the one hand and the potential for individuals to compete in world intellectual order on the other hand. Therefore, as a solution to these problems is the need for the applicationof character education from an early age.

Discipline in class is essential. Without it the educational processes and teachings are difficult. In this manner curricula goals are almost impossible to achieve. There are and there always will be some kind of conflicts between teachers and students, but they should not evolve to become a problem. Teachers (especially elderly teachers) often express pessimism of contemporary students. They say that today's students have less knowledge, they do misbehave more often than previous generations. A study among students was conducted. It was trying to determine the rate of discipline in schools in Celje to see if these statements are true. The questionnaire to students of one primary and one high school in Celje, Slovenia were distributed. The answers from 234 students were received. On the one hand, it was found out that senior high school students have the worst level of discipline of all the grades tested. They themselves assess their class atmosphere as less disciplined. They report that teachers use a lot of time to calm the class down. All this is probably a factor in lower average grade that the senior high school students have. On the other hand, it was found out that teachers do not react to the disturbance or they are trying to be repressive. These are not the correct ways of dealing with discipline issues. Therefore, there are some recommended ways how teachers should react. Keywords: discipline in class, primary school, contemporary student, elderly teachers.

The aim of the study is to investigate the school administrators' views on the professional development needs of teachers regarding the use of technology in physics classes. The participants of the study were 121 executive teachers from the city of Kocaeli. The data for the research was obtained using the survey model and was compiled with the help of a five point Likert type scale. The data collected by a scale with the reliability coefficient of 0.92 were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the administrators completely agreed with the use of the LCD panels in the teaching of physics subjects, while only agreeing with the other items. In addition, the opinions of school administrators regarding the professional development needs of teachers for the use of technology in physics classes does not differ according to demographic characteristics, but significantly do however, according to gender and experience. In light of the results, recommendations were made for researchers, administrators and the Ministry of National Education.

The National Education World is currently trying to improve the ability of its students to think critically and creatively. One of these efforts has been pursued through evaluations that also lead to critical reflection. This research is a descriptive analysis of the final semester evaluation questions that are examined from the point of view of high-level thinking [HOTS]. The reference to the HOTS criteria is that the researcher refers to the opinions of King and his friends. From the manuscript data, the issues examined are samples from the Bandung area. The results of the analysis show that 10 out of 15 HOTS ranges proposed by King are already included in the scripts made by the teachers. On the one hand, it shows the teacher's creativity in compiling questions. On the other hand, all these questions do not refer to the HOTS criteria as planned. Therefore, there is a need to increase teachers' skills in compiling scripts as HOTS. This increase can be done through teacher training. Keywords: Evaluation, HOTS, critical thinking and creativity thingking

This survey aims to evaluate the social promotion of class-repeating students, applied with the changes in regulations made by the TRNC Ministry of National Education, for promotion to a higher grade from the viewpoints of Ministry of Education and school administrators, parents, teachers and students. For this survey, the semi-structured qualitative interviews were used. A total of 100 participants were interviewed, including school administrators, teachers and students in a high school. Based on the findings, we concluded that social promotion of the failed students to a higher grade is a defective practice. Also, it is hard in Cyprus to try to fulfill learning deficiencies in the higher grade. Lastly, the ongoing practice of social promotion enforced in recent years was favoured, because the authorities aimed at preventing possible overcrowding in lower grades rather than meeting the requirements of contemporary educational system. Thus, this educational policy in concern has numerous disadvantages. Keywords: class passing, Ministry of Education, school administrators, teachers, parent.

It would seem, for the sake of convenience and in the interest of imparting exact information, that the terms used in a discipline should have one and only one meaning. Unfortunately economics terminology is not in such a completely refined state that all terms have unambiguous meanings. In some instances different meanings are attached to the same terms which is a source of confusion. This is especially the case for the term “intensive” use of a resource which frequently has been used to describe the relative abundance of a resource in production. The term has been used inconsistently in two opposing senses when applied to land and labor on the one hand and capital and labor on the other hand. While this may not pose a serious problem for a seasoned scholar who can construe the proper meaning in each context, beginning teachers and students need to be made aware of the inconsistency to avoid confusion and unnecessary debate.

The concept of the cyclical nature of social history is substantiated in relation to the genesis of state and law in general and in relation to the concept of educational law, in particular. The conceptual difference between the educational systems of Russia and the West is shown in terms of the mechanism of their formation and goals of functioning. The intra-systemic collision of the system of modern Russian education is proved, which combines the Soviet (specialty, postgraduate studies) and Bologna (bachelor’s, master’s) components. The prospects for the development of the Russian educational system are determined, «educational risks» are highlighted in the context of globalization processes, on the one hand, and the growing trend of state isolation of Russia, on the other.

The aim of this article is to analyze the main debates, projects and conflicts presented in the process of drafting the Constitutional Organic Law of Education (LOCE) during the period of the Chilean Dictatorship (1973-1990). In that period, the national education system was the subjected to structural transformation, as  market principles were introduced to schools and higher education institutions in response to decisions made by various civilian and military players. This research reports an analysis of their proposals and lines of action, and how they were involved in the discussion framework in which the LOCE was drawn up. The research is based on an examination of the education-related records made during meetings of the Military Junta, the Commission for the Study of the New Political Constitution of the Republic of Chile, the Council of State, the Commission for the Study of Constitutional Organic Laws, and the Commissions for the Constitutional Organic Law on Education. The sources analyzed show that in the process of drafting the normative framework of the Chilean educational system that was to remain in force until 2009, two conflicting political ideologies were at play: on the one hand, the maintenance of a discourse of «Minimum Teaching State» (defended by traditional politicians and members of the Armed Forces) and, on the other hand, the neoliberal project.

The article proposes a comparison between two perspectives that re-read the “control society” posed by the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze: on the one hand, the “psicopolitics” of Byung- Chul Han and, on the other, the “pharmacopornographic” of Paul B. Precious. The analysis reveals a number of points in common such as the importance of technology and the centrality of pornography; Divergences, among which are the conceptualizations and importance of the body in the control mechanisms; and finally, mutual tensions that force each to go further. It is concluded that it is essential to do critical readings of both approaches, to understand them as toolboxes that can be both hybridized, complexed and attacked mutually depending on where they are analyzed and the uses given to them.
