Statistics show that crime rates are rising globally. Not a single period of the development of human society was spared from the pathological phenomena and deviant behavior, nor even the modern era, where an explosion of various forms of deviant behavior can actually be noticed. What are the conditions and causes that have led to such global trends? In this paper, family circumstances and relationships will be analyzed as a crime factor. We will see what the universal and unchanged characteristics of the family are, how it affects the socialization, cultivation and individualization of children. In one systematic way, we will try to respond to the universal issues of family influence on its members. What are the interactive relationships between family members? How the functional and dysfunctional families affect their members? If and how can a family create a favorable climate for deviant behavior and how to avoid the multiplication of pathological phenomena in dysfunctional families? How youth and juvenile delinquency can be connected? All these are questions that we will try to give an answer to, although this answer is unlikely to be one-dimensional, since the family is a complex social group, with a complex mechanism of action.

The paper deals with issues connected with the motivation of high school students to participate in activities aimed at professional creative activity and, in this context, issues of environmental influences, especially from school and the family. It is responding to some of the growing efforts of neoliberalism to over individualize creative expression and activities and completely ignore social influences. It also takes into account the cultural legacy of past generations and the sources of creative power that have taken root in society and from which individuals draw and process their inspiration. Presented within are the results of an empirical probe focused on the influence of the social environment on the creative activity of teenagers. The paper follows the relations to the existing body of knowledge on the relationship between social environment and creativity, with an effort to capture the social conditionality of creative performances—to capture their roots. The results of the probe have confirmed the initial hypothesis that the creative efforts of secondary school students taking part in vocational training is based on the social background of the family and school. However, the family influence on the students’ creativity is not as significant as one would expect. It is the indirect effect of the family environment that has a larger influence.

The purpose of this study is to explore traditional moral values in Japanese society that are able to survive and be implemented in everyday life in the modern era. In addition, it is able to shape the distinctive character of the Japanese, including the role of women who contribute to maintaining traditional moral values. This research is a qualitative research field of philosophy with the object of formal values and the material object is the development of women's position in Japanese society. The results achieved in the study: Japanese women played an important role in the history of the struggle until Japan achieved prosperity and glory until now. This is based on the reason that Japanese women are able to maintain and preserve traditional moral values that still exist through early education in the family environment. These values can shape the character of children from an early age in the family. A family with character brings logical consequences to the life of a community with character so that it affects the culture as a whole.

PurposeThe career is a space where family and work lives amalgamate. The role of work for the individual, and the meaning of work within the culture, will determine the relevance of family. This study investigates CEOs' perception about conjugal family influence on career decisions, and it examines family factors.Design/methodology/approachThrough a qualitative study, 22 Latin American CEOs who work for multinational firms were interviewed in a semi-structured way.FindingsNot all career decisions were influenced by conjugal family. CEOs varied in the extent to which they considered their families when reflecting on their career decisions. Expatriation, joining or quitting an organization and change of area of work were found as those decisions perceived to be influenced by conjugal family. Family support, family structure and family demands and responsibilities were identified as the family factors involved. In spite of the role salience, family factors influenced some of CEOs' career decisions, in part, due to the cultural characteristics of the Latin American environment. The instrumental support of the extended family, as part of collectivist societies, was also evidenced.Practical implicationsA better understanding of the family influenced decisions and family factors involved may enhance individual career decision-making as well as organizational career management processes and public initiatives.Originality/valueThis study contributes to family and career literature, being the first one to explore the conjugal family influence upon CEOs' career decisions.

This article develops a familiness scale measuring the family influence on the business via decision premises that express familiness. In three studies, we examine familiness with qualitative and quantitative approaches based on new systems theory. Narrative interviews are employed to generate items. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses led to a multidimensional scale (Family Influence Familiness Scale [FIFS]) comprising six dimensions: (1) ownership, management, and control; (2) proficiency level of active family members; (3) sharing of information between active family members; (4) transgenerational orientation; (5) family–employee bond; and (6) family business identity. Results indicate high reliability and validity levels.

The pre-Tridentine œcumenical councils of the Roman Catholic church were, as Dr. Francis Wharton has well remarked, international congresses, working toward the establishment of a uniform law for the civilized world. It was a law confined to one set of subjects; but among them were those having to do with the family relation, and which were therefore of the first importance to human society. Each nation of Christendom was represented in these gatherings by its sovereign or political delegates, as well as by its bishops, and it was for each nation, acting through its political departments, to ratify or reject such rules or laws in these respects as the council might propose. The representation of political sovereignty in the Council of Trent was slight, and in the only œcumenical council since called by Eome — that of the Vatican — it was wholly wanting; Bavaria being the only power (though all European cabinets were consulted) which intimated a willingness to send an official delegate.

This study investigates the family-involvement strategies employed in Adolescent Family Life (AFL)-funded care programs for pregnant and parenting teenagers. Results from a survey of directors, supervisors, and line workers in more than 50 AFL programs show that only a minority of programs involve families in their intake, program, and discharge practices. Some of the barriers to involving families include large case loads; lack of training, funding, and administrative support; and negative staff attitudes about working with dysfunctional families. Although family-involvement practices are minimal, a majority of program workers have positive attitudes about the importance and effectiveness of family involvement. Policy and practice implications are discussed.

We studied the stylistic features of autobiographical memory structure which can be significant for the understanding the sources of intrapersonal propensity for deviant behavior among young people. From the standpoint of the Vygotsky's theory we studied 102 "parent-teenager" dyads in order to examine the mechanisms of cultural determination of autobiographical memory macrostructure in context of reproducing the life scenarios. We differentiate the social influences of various levels on the formation of system characteristics of autobiographical memory, which constitute individual style of fixation personal stories of the past. We have found а stable family-reproduced indicators of autobiographical memories belonging to the "family life" scenario, these include the emotional profile of the memories of lives, the level of scenario (fixation of socially approved events); representation of memories of other people (social orientation). The low values of these indicators can be the risk factors for asocial behavior.

The SOPUS (DFGUC) index (daily family gathering in urban community) considers gatherings of narrow and wider family circles aind friends on various social occasions where adolescents are also present. The hypothesis was that the SOPUS (DFGUC) index could serve as an indicator of the family influence iin the process of socialization of adolescents. 228 adolescents were screened (85 male and 143 female). They were all born in town, live with their parents and attend the third grade of the secondary specialized training school. The results of the research have shown that the SOPUS (DFGUC) index can be taken as an indicator of the family influence on some aspects of the elements of socialization of adolescents.

AbstractSundanese Ethics Wiwitan is a local value that teaches Sundanese people about life. In the text Sangyang Siksakandang Karesian is taught about human relations with humans, humans as individuals, and humans with their communities. Researchers assume that the teachings of these values are still relevant to be actualized in the current modern era. Given that in the modern era one can find one's true self; can find a teacher in accordance with his wishes. But what happens is that it forms deviant behavior from the teachings in the Sangyang Siksakandang Karesian manuscript, for example selfish behavior, being alone, not sociable, and the like. This research tries to find the correlation between teaching values in the Sangyang Siksakandang Karesian manuscript with modern culture. The results of this study indicate that the teaching values in the Sangyang Siksakandang Karesian manuscript have universal values that can be applied in modern culture, such as the value of looking for good teachers in ethics and high knowledge, being respectful between people, and always guarding from bad attitudes.Keyword: Sunda Wiwitan, Sangyang Siksakandang Karesian, modernitas.
