Objective: The central objective of the present study was to determine the relationship between social grievances and drugs rummage-sale (performance enhancement attitude) of the mature athletes of Pakistan and examine their difference as well. Methodology: The targeted population was mature national athletes belonging to national sports departments. The respondents were recruited through snowball and convenient sampling methods. Total 105 questionnaires were posted at the given addresses of athletes. However, 73 athletes (69.5%) returned the questionnaires. For achieving study objectives, quantitative approach was adopted wherein several statistical tests were performed including descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation, and t-test analyses and implemented to draw the required study findings. Results: The findings revealed that a strong association exists between social grievances and drugs rummage use. Therefore, the relationship was considered positive and highly significant among the constructs. On the other hand, the findings revealed no difference between social grievances and drugs rummage-use. The findings revealed that social grievance and drug rummage-sale positively contribute to enhance the sports performance of athletes. Conclusion: It was concluded that athletes use drugs for several purposes such as enhancing performance, competing for highest sports level, gaining fame, and jobs opportunities. However, with these benefits, the athletes fell in diverse health complications as a side effect of drugs being taken for above said purposes.

This chapter presents a five-stage empirical strategy. It first details how core variables, including prewar military inequality and battlefield performance, were constructed. Second, the chapter provides simple descriptive statistics about the relationship between military inequality and the various measures of battlefield performance. Next, it subjects two different measures of military inequality to a series of statistical tests to examine the strength of this association. Afterward, the chapter uses matching and a two-control group comparison to investigate how shifts from low to high inequality, and from medium to high inequality, affect battlefield performance within a reduced sample of most similar belligerents. Finally, this chapter considers the fate of leading alternative explanations, which receive almost no empirical support within the expanded Project Mars universe.

AbstractWe review briefly the attempts to define random sequences (§0). These attempts suggest two theorems: one concerning the number of subsequence selection procedures that transform a random sequence into a random sequence (§§1–3 and 5); the other concerning the relationship between definitions of randomness based on subsequence selection and those based on statistical tests (§4).

The present paper deals with the relationship between contrastive linguistics on the one hand and foreign language teaching on the other hand, more precisely, with the influence exerted by the first on the latter. It goes without saying that a teacher who teaches his mother tongue is expected to teach it as completely and correctly as possible. Yet the complete and correct teaching of any language depends on the teacher’s complete and correct knowledge of the given language and, comes to that, his awareness of this knowledge. It could be shown and proven on various examples that this aim can only be reached by the way of analyzing an other / a foreign language and comparing it with the language / the mother tongue to be teached, that, as much as paradoxical this may sound, self-understanding quite often needs the understanding of the other.

a number of business failures have not been reported in Nigeria arising from inability to payback nor does service debts .This paper empirically investigate the relationship between capital structure and firm performance in the Nigerian listed firms. A sample of 30listed firms out of a population of 173 were examined from 2005 to 2014 using multiple regression tools. Two hypotheses were formulated and tested using descriptive statistics and an econometric panel data technique to analyze the gathered data. An insignificantly negative correlation was found between financial leverage and ROA on one hand and a significantly negative relationship between debt/equity mix and ROE on the other hand. It is therefore recommended that firms should use long term liabilities to finance firm’s activities and mix debt/equity appropriately by ensuring that debt financing ratio is lower to enhance corporate performance and survival.

Abstract. In this study, we intended to identify psychosocial and environmental factors common to both, coach and athlete, in a situation of relational dyad, perceived by themselves, in a context of individual sport. In the same way, to perceive which factors were considered most preponderant in the sports performance by the two elements of the dyad. Two interviews were conducted individually, to both coach and athlete, and identified the variables present in this dyad by the coding of the interviews. In the analysis of the collected data, the method used was qualitative. Ten common factors were identified: environment, confidence, empathy, mental exigency, motivation, objectives, perfectionism, resilience, overcoming and values. However, there were significant differences in the relative frequencies of each of these factors, depending on whether they came from the coach or the athlete. It was concluded that, despite the existence of factors common to both subjects, the perception of their significance for the relationship, is not the same. The results also suggest that coaches have a significant focus on the variables of competence. On the other hand, the athletes, in addition to the competence variables, also focus on bond factors such as confidence, or self-knowledge factors such as overcoming.

This paper aimed to examine whistleblowing in point of individual level. Three sets of hypotheses were developed concerning the relationships between (1) religiosity and ethical ideology, (2) ethical ideology and intentions to different modes of whistleblowing, and (3) religiosity and intentions to different modes of whistleblowing. Descriptive statistics, Correlation matrix, and regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The sample includes 323 teachers in Turkey. The results confirmed that religiosity was negatively associated with relativism, and positively associated with idealism while they rejected any relation between the ethical ideology and intention to whistleblowing modes. The results confirmed only the positive relationship between religiosity and internal whistleblowing, while rejecting the other hypotheses. Few studies have investigated the relationship between whistleblowing modes and ethical ideology. Therefore, examining religiosity, ethical ideology, and whistleblowing in an education context in Turkey, this paper believed to contribute the literature with regard to Islamic perspective.

The economic, financial and sports performances of Brazilian football clubs may be related. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the relationship between the economic-financial and sporting performances of Brazilian football clubs, in the years 2015 to 2019. The methodology regarding the problem is quantitative, as for the objectives is descriptive and has as its objective technical procedure to documentary research. Data were collected from the transparency portal of the 30 clubs that participated, at least once, in Series A, of the Brazilian Championship (CBF), in the defined period. After collecting the financial statements, the data were tabulated and analyzed statistically by means of correlation. The results show that clubs with better positioning in the CBF ranking have, in general, total assets and revenues higher than the other teams. In addition, there was a high percentage of indebtedness in football clubs, and the return on assets, in most of the sample, showed negative indicators. Thus, it is concluded that larger clubs (size), with high revenue generation and better positioned in the ranking tend to have a higher level of financial and sporting performance in their management.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to investigate the relationship between risk perception and behaviors related to the driving of motor vehicle under the effect of alcohol and/or marijuana of students of a public university between 18 and 29 years; investigating the relationship between driving under influence, students' social network, and driving-related behaviors under the influence of alcohol and/or marijuana. Method: a transversal questionnaire was applied to 383 students. Inferential and descriptive statistics were used for data analysis, processed by SPSS. Results: are students who have used alcohol and marijuana; 37.1% presented problematic use of alcohol and 22.0% of marijuana. Regarding the correlations, the variables related to the use of marijuana were those that presented greater significance. The lower the perceived risk, the greater the possibility of hitchhiking with those who have used marijuana, that is, there is a strong association between taking a ride with someone who has driven under marijuana and the perception of risk of being detected, receiving sanction or suffer any harm (p<0.01). Conclusion: It is clear that in Brazil the emphasis on alcohol use prevention policies should also address issues related to marijuana use and student social networks.
