Minangkabau is a tribe in West Sumatra with a matrilineal kinship system, which draws lineage based on the mother's ethnicity. Therefore, women are the main characters in the tribe. Minangkabau women who are married, wise, and elder are called Bundo Kanduang, who have duties and obligations to carry out. Given the importance of the role of Bundo Kanduang, it is necessary to know how the role of Bundo Kanduang can be carried out in the Rumah Gadang, both physically/real and non-physical/imaginary. The research method used is an ethnographic method with a qualitative analysis approach using the theory of the third space from Edward Soja. Based on the analysis, it was found that the activities of Bundo Kanduang in carrying out its role have been facilitated in the Rumah Gadang, both physically and non-physically, even beyond what is known as third space.

In this article I employ the notion of the Third Space as a point of departure in order to expand and complicate our thinking about student-faculty partnerships, with the goal of enquiring into the acceptability of and comfort with such space for faculty who self-identify as underrepresented. I consider the practical and real repercussions for these faculty members of engaging in partnership in the context of a reality that is very much shaped by dominant cultural practices, and racial, social, and cultural hierarchies and divisions, and look at how the concept of the liminal space plays out in their professional lives. The findings presented in the article come out of a qualitative analysis of oral semi-structured interviews with underrepresented faculty.

From general advertising tasks and strategies three hypotheses about connectivity in advertisement texts were derived: 1. In advertisements the number of connectors will be comparatively high. 2. The number of subordinating connectors, however, will be low. 3. Connectors which semantically possess an argumentative or rhetoric quality will play a dominant role. These hypotheses were tested in a comparative study of written advertising language and other kinds of written texts. Hypothesis 1 and 2 were supported. In testing the third hypothesis it was found that the connectors of addition and of causation are more frequent in advertising than in other written language, but that adversatives are not. In a qualitative analysis the role of causal relationships was worked out. It was found that their functions fitted the tasks of advertising texts from which the hypotheses originated very well. At least five functions have been found: 1. Causal connectors often relate two different product qualities to each other. 2. They do this by putting these qualities in an argumentative structure of the following form: Product quality (P) conclusion> General positive quality (C) or: Ρ explanation 3. When the generalizing difference between (P) and (C) is not very strong, the structure becomes one of tautological repetition. In this way a product quality may be accentuated.

After doing legal research by reviewing a number of normative rules of customary law relating to inheritance and the results were analyzed with the theory of the legal system, justice theory and feminist theory, then we can conclude the nature of inheritance under customary law Bali is the process of transfer of the assets, debts, obligations and the responsibility of the heir to the heir to consider whether the position as purusa or not as Purusa. This is in accordance with the kinship system adopted by indigenous people in Bali are patrilineal, where applicable three inheritance system that is individual, collective and mayorat. Daha tua in Bali inheritance under customary law is largely determined by its status as Purusa or not.
