Cloud in the Indian government is still in the nascent stage; the rate of government cloud adoption (GCA) has not been that encouraging. The government organizations are complex, slow, rigidly structured, and research deficient. These organizations are the highest spenders on IT but are not placed at par when it comes to terms of cloud adoption. This empirical study has three objectives, which are identifying the key factors affecting GCA, finding out if these factors significantly affect the adoption, and examining the categorical moderating effect of organization types and adoption stages on GCA. This study posits government organization type (center, state, local bodies, and public sector organizations) and adoption stages (adopted, currently evaluating, and plans to adopt) as moderating variables. PLS-SEM has been deployed in this work for analysis and validation of the model. Nine factors found to have a significant positive influence on GCA are security, connectivity, migration, procurement, awareness, organizational administration, legal, trust, and control.

One of the components of the IBI organizational system is an integrated organizational administration system, starting from the central level, provincial level, district / city level, to the lowest level, namely the sub-branch level. Until now, the administrative system has not been well organized, especially in the organizational administration system at the provincial level down to the sub-branch level. One of the obstacles encountered was the inadequate implementation of the Administrative Information System for the Indonesian Midwives Association (SIA-IBI) at the district / city level. It is necessary to evaluate the smooth implementation of SIA-IBI in all districts / cities in East Java Province. The subjects of this descriptive research were all (38) administrators of SIA-IBI. There were 2 variables described in this study, namely: 1) the smooth implementation of SIA-IBI; 2) the obstacles in implementing SIA-IBI. Data on these two variables were collected through direct interviews with all SIA-IBI administrators. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, namely frequency and percentage. Based on the data analysis results, it is clear that: 1) all (100%) districts / cities in East Java Province had not been fluent in implementing SIA-IBI; 2) the obstacles faced by SIA-IBI administrators vary widely. The obstacles are grouped into 8 groups, namely: internet connection, double duty, completeness of data, fickle system, limited time, not yet proficient, lack of equipment, and low response to the system. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the implementation of SIA-IBI in all districts / cities in East Java Province has not been going well, and this is related to obstacles from technical and organizational aspects.

PurposeExamining the self-identification of physician managers with their manager and clinician roles, and its impact on the state and professional powers in healthcare governance.Design/methodology/approachWith purposive sampling, a total of 15 frontline clinical department managers (mainly principal consultants) and directorial managers (mainly Hospital Chief Executives) were recruited to elite interviews. The themes for data collection and analysis were based on a systematic scoping review of previous empirical studies.FindingsPhysician managers maintained respective jurisdictions in policymaking and clinical governance, as well as their primary self-identification as rationalizers or protectors of medicine, according to their managerial roles at a directorial or departmental level. However, a two-way hybridization of physician managers allowed the exchange of clinical and managerial authority, resulting in cooperation alongside struggles among medical elites; while some frontline managers were exposed to managerial values with the awareness of budget and organizational administration, some directorial managers remained aligned to a traditional mode of professional communication, such as persuasion through informal personal networks and by using clinician language and maintaining symbolic contact with the clinical field.Originality/valueThis study identifies the inconsistency in physician managers’ identity work, as well as its patterns. It goes beyond a dichotomized framework of professionalism versus managerialism or an arbitrarily blurred identity.

Purpose of this study: This article intends to contribute to the discussion of the heuristic and analytical potentialities of the ideal type of bureaucracy proposed by Max Weber for the analysis of contemporary organizations. Methodology: For this essay, a bibliographical research was carried out on this topic, complemented by our experience as sociologists in teaching and research on the organizational theme in some databases, such as Web of Knowledge, DOAJ, SCIELO, and institutional repositories. Findings: For Max Weber, the bureaucracy presents very specific characteristics that differ, in varied situations, from the representation and application often conferred to this model of organizational administration. Implications: Bureaucracy is a notion with great social visibility and is associated with an image where negative aspects are emphasized. However, in discursive records of a scientific nature, bureaucracy is a relevant concept in Sociology and Organizational Theory studies.

Purpose: There is an abundance of available concussion education programs for parents of youth ice hockey players. Parents play a vital role in recognizing signs and symptoms of a concussion sustained by a child, and therefore their knowledge and retention of such information is deemed to be very important. The purpose of the pilot survey is identify the general knowledge parents of youth ice hockey players possess regarding concussion. Methods: A survey of a sample of convenience was utilized. Forty-five parents (40 to 49 years of age) of youth ice hockey players were asked to complete a one-page survey to assess their knowledge of concussion. The ages of their children ranged from seven through ten, and all parents were recruited to participate while attending a team practice session at a local ice hockey arena. Results: Parents generally were aware of common concussion related symptoms (headache 98%, difficulty with concentrating 96%, mental confusion 91%, vomiting 91%, sensitivity to light 91%, and blurred vision 82%) while not so familiar with symptoms such as tinnitus (62%) and agitated behaviors (47%). Fifty percent of those surveyed were unaware if their youth hockey organization had a concussion policy. Conclusion: Parents of youth ice hockey players seem to fail to retain information learned from concussion education programs. Barriers to learning retention may include the ages of the youth participating, the abundance of informal and inconsistent information that is available, and the lack of organizational administration of concussion education programs. Parents appear to be receptive to receiving more information regarding the safety of their children. Parental recognition of the signs and symptoms of a concussion sustained while playing youth ice hockey may lead to more appropriate and timely management of the injury.
