The article seeks to search for new pathways to increase the performance efficiency of higher education institutions. In particular, it is argued that the key point in shaping a new role of universities in society, which assumes building a development strategy, is the idea of a "technological mode". The social innovation process paradigm is being realized through technological change accompanied by the emergence of products with new functional properties to meet new demands. The role of higher education institutions within a certain technological mode is not limited to traditional issues of workforce training for the economy, it should be also focused towards developing organizational and economic innovations to reduce the implementation cycle and building an innovation-driven management system in an organization. Modern universities not only maintain but also expand their role in the transition to the sixth technological mode of the economy, as they are viewed as the few institutional societal structures that are capable to build relevant competencies for a successive technological mode in the process of their educational, research and innovative activities. The paradigm to enhance the research potential of universities should rely upon a fundamentally new development strategy for higher education institutions which can ensure their active participation in the new technological mode on a regular, sustainable basis and thus realize the new role of universities in society. Insights into development strategies of domestic universities have revealed that on the whole they are quite typical consisting of following sections: general provisions, mission, strategic goal and objectives of university development, program activities and stages of their implementation, financial support for the program; expected outcomes and program implementation risks. The research findings on higher education practices in Ukraine demonstrate that they are based on competitive strategies which are viewed as a set of actions to meet the overall goals of HEIs with due regard to education and labour market demands. It is argued that a robust development strategy and its consistent implementation might become a driving factor to boost the efficiency of higher education institutions.

The considered operating ferrous metallurgy enterprise uses three different technological modes of steel smelting, each of which is characterized by an individual composition of the ingredients of chemical pollutant emissions into the atmosphere affecting the state of the forest areas around this enterprise. Based on the decoding of satellite pixel photographs of forest areas, the technological mode with the least impact on forest areas was determined. It corresponds to the condition of the minimum area of ecological zones around the ferrous metallurgy enterprise. The authors propose an assessment of the impact of chemical pollution of ferrous metallurgy enterprises on forests in the form of areas of ecological zones of the state of forest vegetation and the volume of biomass in its various parts. The mosaic of ecological zones of forest areas is determined from their satellite pixel photographs using an original algorithm of “controlled cluster analysis”. The main recommendation for ferrous metallurgy enterprises to choose one of several alternative technological modes is as follows: the choice of technological mode should be based on a comparison of sizes of the areas of ecological zones. In this case, the technological mode with the smallest dimensions of the area is selected. Assessment of the damage caused by the chemical pollution of the plant to forest areas was determined by the area of ecological zones and the volume of biomass loss in forest areas in comparison with the background areas. The boundaries of ecological zones can be determined according to the “dose-effect” dependencies typical for the considered region.

Abstract Using various physical and technical effects in automatic assembly is a promising tendency to increase the technological reliability of the assembly process. The article presents a method for robotic assembly of cylindrical joints using the effect of rotational motion and low-frequency vibrations. The effect can be achieved by using low-frequency vibrations of the base part with the help of a vibrating device and the rotational movement of the installed part with the help of the rotational movement of the robot out-put link. The paper presented a mathematical model of the dynamics of the robotic assembly process of cylindrical joints. Experiments were set up and carried out to test the effectiveness of the proposed assembly method. The research results affirmed that with a rational technological mode of the robotic assembly process using the effect of rotation and low-frequency vibrations, the probability of jamming is completely eliminated and the assembly force is significantly reduced.

The article analyzes the results of pilot field tests and the technological assessment of the introduction of technology for simultaneous and separate injection at Kalamkas field of Mangystaumunaigas JSC. The functional tasks of simultaneous-separate injection and the requirements for the technical conditions of the equipment used for transfer to simultaneous-separate injection are considered A relevant and significant point in the implementation of technology for simultaneous-separate injection is that the injection into two layers is carried out through one wellbore using special equipment, the main element of which is a packer that separates the layers from each other and provides the possibility of operating each of them in accordance with the specified technological mode.

Abstract The article is devoted to modeling the process of electron beam welding in the manufacture of electric motors with a bimetallic ring used in biofuel preparation reactors. The main problem at the current stage of production is the choice of the technological mode of welding and the repeatability of the result. In this work, the authors simulate the welding of electric motors with a bimetallic ring under various technological modes in the ANSYS simulation environment in the process of electron beam welding. The result of the work will be a graphical representation of the temperature distribution on the surface of the product at various values of the technological parameters (electron beam current, welding speed and welding process time). Today, the choice of modes for a new technological process is carried out experimentally, which entails high material costs. The approach proposed by the authors allows, with minimal time and material costs, to select a technological mode for welding products from new alloys.

Introduction. The developed technology for obtaining natural dye is based on the physical process of formation of phase separation observed in the juice space of some vegetables and melons. The technological mode is selected in such a way as to preserve the biological active substances available in the cheese as much as possible. The process of phase separation in the juice space is scientifically justified. It is shown that the resulting natural dye, carrot flour, and transparent juice are applicable in the food industry. In order to widely apply the developed dye production technology, the juice phase separator plant was created. Spectroscopic studies have established that the main coloring pigment of carrot dye is β-carotene.
