The performance and efficiency of green energy sources in electric vehicles (EVs) are significantly affected by operation temperatures. To maintain the optimal temperatures of a hybrid energy system (HES), an innovative hybrid thermal management system (IHTMS) was designed. The IHTMS contains a coolant pump, a heat exchanger, a proportional valve for hybrid flow rates, five coolant pipes, and three electromagnetic valves to form two mode-switch coolant loops. A Matlab/Simulink-based simulator of the IHTMS was constructed by formulating a set of first-ordered dynamics of temperatures of coolant pipes and energy bodies using the theories of Newton’s law of cooling and the lumped-parameter technique. Parameters were majorly derived by measured performance maps and data from the experimental platform of the IHTMS. To properly manage the optimal temperatures, four control modes were designed for inner-loop form and outer-loop form. For the experimental platform to verify the simulator, two power supplies generated the waste heat of dual energy sources calculated by the driving cycle and vehicle dynamics. Simulation results show that the temperatures were controlled at their optimal ranges by proper mode/loop switch. With the inner-loop mechanism, the rise time of optimal temperature decreased 27.4%. The average simulation-experiment temperature error of the battery was 0.898 °C; the average simulation-experiment temperature error of the PEMFC was 4.839 °C. The IHTMS will be integrated to a real HES in the future.

In this paper, we present general one-loop form factors for \(H\rightarrow \gamma^* \gamma^*\) in \(R_{\xi}\) gauge, considering all cases of two on-shell, one on-shell and two off-shell for final photons. The calculations are performed in standard model and in arbitrary beyond the standard models which charged scalar particles may be exchanged in one-loop diagrams. Analytic results for the form factors are shown in general forms which are expressed in terms of the Passarino-Veltman functions. We also confirm the results in previous computations which are available for the case of two on-shell photons. The \(\xi\)-independent of the result is also discussed. We find that numerical results are good stability with varying \(\xi=0,1\) and $\xi\rightarrow \infty\).

AbstractFor the lower limb rehabilitation robot, how to better realize intention recognition is the key issue in the practical application. Recognition of the patient’s movement intention is a challenging research work, which needs to be studied from the shallow to the deep. Specifically, it is necessary to ensure that the movement intention of the normal person can be accurately recognized, and then improve the model to realize the recognition of the movement intention of the patients. Therefore, before studying the patient’s movement intention, it is essential to consider the normal person first, which is also for safety considerations. In recent years, a new Hill-based muscle model has been demonstrated to be capable of directly estimating the joint angle intention in an open-loop form. On this basis, by introducing a recurrent neural network (RNN), the whole prediction process can achieve more accuracy in a closed-loop form. However, for the traditional RNN algorithms, the activation function must be convex, which brings some limitations to the solution of practical problems. Especially, when the convergence speed of the traditional RNN model is limited in the practical applications, as the error continues to decrease, the convergence performance of the traditional RNN model will be greatly affected. To this end, a projected recurrent neural network (PRNN) model is proposed, which relaxes the condition of the convex function and can be used in the saturation constraint case. In addition, the corresponding theoretical proof is given, and the PRNN method with saturation constraint has been successfully applied in the experiment of intention recognition of lower limb movement compared with the traditional RNN model.

In the present paper, a control command to recover steady-straight-level flight from flat-oscillatory-stable-left-spin is developed using a sliding-mode based attitude and altitude control. Direct spin recovery, using a spin solution by bifurcation results, to low angle-of-attack is achieved in finite-time without any separation in dynamics. The exponential convergence of errors is discussed by invoking Barbalat’s Lemma theorem. Thereafter settling time is obtained thereby making the system a finite-time stable to reach the sliding surface. The novelty of this work lies in the proposed control strategy, wherein expressions for all four primary control inputs are obtained in a closed-loop form without any approximation and altitude margin required for flat-spin recovery is investigated based on a heuristic approach for a fixed controller gains. Additionally, results of this research indicate the proposed controller first stops the spin by controlling the attitude of the aircraft thereby rotation stops about the body axis and then reaches the commanded altitude to attain the horizontal flight.

Understanding dynamic behavior of a battery and the possibility of simulating it is necessary during design of IoT systems. This plays a critical role, especially for industrial devices with low-power demands planned for long lasting operation. While cost limitation mostly leads to use of the low-budget batteries with fast degradation, a model of these batteries supplying low-power loads is provided here. The overall model is in open-loop form because no access to the terminal measurements is available during the design phase. The identification process of the relation between the state of charge and related electromotive force as a key element of the model is discussed. Moreover, guidelines are suggested for identification of this relation. Furthermore, SoC estimation based on the Coulomb counting is modified to include a dynamic inter-cycle aging factor. This factor enables replication of the degradation within a single cycle. In spite of simplicity of this concept, it is able to reduce the model’s estimation error evaluated with two different types of loads. The overall model provides promising results with relative errors less than 0.2%.

In this paper, the detail study of electrical conductivity of single layer graphene (SLG) on silicon dioxide (SiO2)/Silicon substrate irradiated by high energy (MeV) electron is presented. The SLG samples prepared by Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) were irradiated by 50 kGy, 100 kGy and 200 kGy doses of electron radiation at energy voltage of 3 MeV. Current-Voltage (I-V) characteristics and conductivity of the pristine and irradiated graphene samples were measured and analysed using I-V measurement at room temperature. The non-linear I-V curves were clearly observed as the voltage reach to 2.0 V for non-irradiated and irradiated samples. This may be attributed to the non-uniform charges by high energy electron irradiation and poor metal contact of the sample. Hysteresis loop form at 2.0 V probably due to the to the charge trapping occurs at the interface of the graphene and SiO2. The reaction of high energy particles lead to creation of more carrier charges that contribute to the increment of conductivity compare to the small number of atom displacement of knock-on collisions with the nuclei of carbon atoms at higher dose. This study provides significant findings on the graphene electrical characteristics when irradiated with high energy (MeV) electron.

Abstract In this paper, new analytic formulas for one-loop contributing to Higgs decay channel $H \rightarrow Z\gamma$ are presented in terms of hypergeometric functions. The calculations are performed by following the technique for tensor one-loop reduction developed in [A. I. Davydychev, Phys. Lett. B 263 (1991) 107]. For the first time, one-loop form factors for the decay process are shown which are valid at arbitrary space–time dimension $d$.
