The purpose of this study was to describe the form and factors causing code mixing at the Buton Student Association Organization Meeting in the city of Samarinda. This research uses the matching and agih method. The data collection technique used the listening method and the speaking method. The results of the study show the form of code mixing between Butonese and Indonesian at the Buton Student Association Organization Meeting in the city of Samarinda and the factors that cause code mixing. The forms of Code Mixing are 1) Code Mixing in the form of words, 2) Code Mixing in the form of phrases, 3) Code Mixing in the form of clauses. There are 2 factors that cause code mixing, namely 1) the speaker factor, 2) the language factor. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the communication process that occurs at the Buton Student Association Organization Meeting in the city of Samarinda is in the form of code mixing in the form of words, phrases and clauses. Factors causing code mixing are speaker factors and language factors.

This research aims to describe the type, shape, and function of the cyclical deiksis of Kutai language in Muara Muntai District of East Kalimantan Province. Data analysis techniques are organized in several steps, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion withdrawal. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the type of cyclical system of Kutai language consists of persona deiksis, place decission, and time decisity. The decyclical form of Kutai language persona is divided into three, namely the first pronomina that refers to oneself, the second pronoun that refers to the speaker to the interlocutor, and the third pronoun that is the person being talked about. A form of place decisis as a gift of form to a place in a language event. The form of decyclical time giving the form of expression time is done in speech. The function of decises is divided into three, namely, the function of decission persona includes as a pointer to belong, as the subject, as an object, is a function that is found in many studies. The decyclical function where use in research leads a lot as a place description indicator. The decyclical function of time in this study shows the description of time.

This study aims to describe the form of language expression and the political news discourse perspective of Koran Kaltim using Roger Fowler's model. In using Roger Fowler's analysis, clarification can be seen how the same event is translated into different languages. These different words are not seen as technical but are seen as an ideological practice. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. Sources of data used in this research are journalistic products of printed mass media, namely Koran Kaltim. Data collection techniques are reading, listening, and note-taking techniques. The data presentation technique in this study contains an explanation of the forms of language expression and perspective. Overall the results of the study show the following two conclusions. First, the forms of language expression based on political news discourse modalities include necessity modality, desire modality, truth modality as well as various types of metaphors. This form of language expression represents the views, values, ideas and beliefs of journalists in the Kaltim newspaper. Second, the pro-government perspective dominates the political news in the Kaltim newspaper.

This study aims to describe the shape of the icons, indexes, and symbols contained in the poem On Sunday I’m Looking For My Father To The City. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach method. Data collection techniques used are library research techniques, reading techniques, note-taking techniques, and semi-structured interview techniques. The data analysis techniques used is to understand the data as a whole, classify the data,make comparisons of data matches, and draw data conclusions. The results of this study include (1) Icons in the poem On Sunday I Look for Father to The City by Hasan Aspahani there two types of icons, namely image icons and diagrammatic icons.(2) The index in the poem On Sunday I’m Looking for My Father to The City by Hasan Aspahani is an index in various findings between texts.(3) Symbols in Hasan Aspahani’s poem On Sunday I Look for Father to the City are signs that do not show a casual relationship between the signifier and the signifier.

This research aims to find out the difference between teaching inquiry methods and teaching methods of two stay two strays; differences of students who have high and low interest in reading; as well as the interaction between teaching methods and reading interest in the ability to write short stories. The research method is a 2x2 factorial design experiment research, with the research population of all students of Samarinda City State High School. Research data is obtained through tests of writing short stories and reading interest questionnaires. Based on the analysis of data obtained results, there is a difference between students with teaching method inquiry and two stay two stray from the statistical results Fh = 21.57 > Ft = 4.01; there is a difference in ability between students interested in high reading and low reading interest with statistical results Fh = 15.12 > Ft = 4.01; There is an interaction between teaching methods and reading interest in short story writing skills with statistical results Fh = 6.41 > Ft = 4.01. The conclusion of this study is: the method of teaching inquiry is better than two stay two strays; high reading interest is better than low reading interest; there is also an interaction between teaching inquiry methods and reading interest in short story writing skills.

In the interactions carried out by traders and buyers in the process of buying and selling transactions in the Samarinda Animal Traditional Market, there are speeches that violate the principle of politeness in language. This has prompted researchers to analyze language politeness in the Samarinda Animal Traditional Market. This study aims to describe the level of politeness in the use of community language in the Samarinda Veterinary Traditional Market and describe the violation of the politeness principle spoken by the Samarinda Animal Market community. This study uses a qualitative method. Data collection techniques in this study are tapping techniques, listening techniques, recording techniques and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique uses a pragmatic equivalent technique. The data in this study are the speeches of traders and buyers at the Samarinda Animal Traditional Market which violate the politeness principle and the politeness scale proposed by Leech. The results of the analysis of the analysis of language politeness violations in buying and selling transactions in the traditional animal market of Samarinda in terms of politeness resulted in an analysis of the Leech politeness scale consisting of cost benefits or the scale of loss and gain, optionality scale or scale of choice, and indirectness scale or indirectness scale. This study also resulted in violations of Leech's six politeness maxims which consist of the maxim of wisdom, the maxim of generosity, the maxim of acceptance, the maxim of humility, the maxim of agreement and the maxim of sympathy

This study aims to describe the form of code mixing between Indonesia and Kutai languages as well as the factors behind the occurred among traders at Pasar Gerbang Raja Mangkurawang, Tenggarong district. The analysis method used in this study is the contextual method. This research is a qualitative research, where the research that produces descriptive data in the form of written words. The data collection techniques used werw listening, recording and interviewing techniques. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the form of code mixing included the insertion of elements in the form of 28 words, 2 phrases and 1 clause. The background for the occurrence of code mixing is due to two factors, namely the speaker factor and the language factor. Speakers factor that causes code mixing, due to relaxedness and habits in language. This research was conducted to develop the Kutai language in the Tenggarong Kota dialect and at the same time as a contribution of knowledge related to the mixing of the codes for the Kutai language in the Tenggarong Dialect. Thus, local languages ​​can continue to be preserved so that speakers of regional languages ​​can use regional languages ​​according to their place and situation. The research objective was to determine the code mixing event that occurred in the Separi Village Office, Kutai Kartanegara Regency and to describe the insertion of language elements that was more dominant in the code mixing event. The method used in this qualitative research is observation, the observation method with basic techniques, namely tapping techniques and note taking techniques. The results showed that code mixing occurred in the Separi Village Office, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, between Indonesian and Kutai languages. The code mixing that occurs is indicated by the insertion of linguistic elements in the form of words, phrases and clauses. The most dominant insertion of linguistic elements in the code mixing process at the Separi Village Office, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, is the insertion of linguistic elements in the form of phrases.

This study aims to describe the forms of maxims, obedience to maxims, and violation of the maxims of politeness in online learning at SD N 013 gotong royong, Samarinda city, which aims to describe pragmatic research studies. The research subject is online learning. The object of research is the observance of the maxim of politeness and the violation of the maxim of politeness in online learning that takes place at school. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive method. Techniques Data collection is done by observing methods. The data analysis technique is to clarify and classify the data. The results showed that there were 35 utterances of teachers and students in online learning at SD Negeri 013 gotong royong in the city of Samarinda which were identified as forms of politeness maxims. 27 utterances of obedience to the maxim of politeness, and 8 utterances of violation of the maxim of politeness to teachers and students. The data on compliance with maxims and violations consist of four utterances of obedience to the maxim of wisdom and two utterances of violation of the maxim of wisdom. Three utterances of obedience to the maxim of generosity and one utterance of violation of the maxim of generosity. Five utterances of respecting the maxim of respect and no utterances of violation of the maxim of appreciation. There are four utterances of obeying the maxim of simplicity and four utterances of violating the maxim of simplicity. Six utterances of compliance with the maxim of consensus and one utterance of violation of the maxim of consensus. Five utterances of compliance maxim of sympathy and no utterances of violation of maxim of sympathy.

Literature is an expression of the human person in the form of experiences, thoughts, feelings, ideas, passions, beliefs in a form of concrete images that evoke charm with language tools. Jaranan performance is a ritual art activity carried out by the community as entertainment for the people of the village of Warat Baru and also to resist reinforcements. Semiotics is a science that studies a sign and the meaning in a sign, which is divided into three types, namely icons, indexes and symbols. The purpose of this study is to describe the shape of icons, indices and symbols in the speech of the Jaranan performance mantra in Prangat Baru village, Marangkayu district, Kutai Kartanegara regency. The data collection method used in this research is qualitative research, namely observation, structured interviews, recording, and collection tools in the form of interview instruments, recordings, photos, videos, and translation. The results of the research from the data of mantra speech using semiotic analysis obtained 3 utterances in the form of the 'Prince' icon, 'Sesaji', 'incense lan sela'. Obtained 4 indexes 'Sun Puji Maring Pangeran Mugi Sometimes Mitro Sami', 'Suro Diro Joyo Diningrat Melts Dening Pangastuti', 'Enjoy the offering of supados, enjoy smoothness and protection', 'kula sukani, let Kangge eat the ringgit wayangipun kula'. Get 3 symbols 'Yellow Janur', 'Semeblak koyo Geni', 'Jabang Bayine'.
