This paper, drawing upon a mobile telecollaborative project, resonates with the rapid development of technology in language learning. We employed the instant messaging app WeChat to create an English telecollaborative environment for two groups of Chinese students to communicate within. Interview data were triangulated with students’ chat transcripts and comments from a teacher’s reflective journal. A mixed-methods approach, including quantitative descriptive analysis, thematic analysis and content analysis, was used to investigate the challenges and the linguistic performance by applying the community of inquiry framework to the students’ chats. The analysis illustrates some of the complexities and challenges of using online apps as a way of communicating in a second language: students expected more teacher support, they struggled to use the app due to their physical environments and they felt that they were not sufficiently well prepared for chatting in an English medium environment. Based on the findings, a conceptual model is proposed for consideration when encouraging students to engage in telecollaborative learning. Implications for practice or policy: Teachers should enhance their visibility in mobile telecollaborative projects by promoting participants’ contribution through different facilitation techniques. Teachers and educators can capitalise on the proposed conceptual model to guide their own design of such online learning experiences for their learners. Telecollaborative learning can be improved by taking into account various factors such as physical environment, the medium of communication and the potential incentives.

Entrepreneurship and open data are key elements in the sustainable development field, improving economic, social, and environmental dimensions. However, entrepreneurship and open data are barely studied together in the literature from a theoretical perspective. Therefore, this study identifies the main themes in the previous studies and proposes a conceptual model for analyzing entrepreneurship through open data. For this purpose, a descriptive analysis and a co-word analysis were performed. Results show that the subject is multidisciplinary, and the main theme of study is how different agents reuse information released by public administrations to generate new entrepreneurial initiatives, especially novel business models associated with new mobile applications. Open data sources, innovation, and business models are studied as critical factors for analyzing entrepreneurship through open data. Likewise, a conceptual model is presented and emerging themes for future research are proposed. Among them, the importance of encouraging collaboration between different agents in the open data ecosystem for service development and improvement is emphasized. Our study identifies an emerging theme that is still in an early phase: The study of sustainable entrepreneurship through open data as a value creation initiative to address global sustainable development.

Facilities management is one of the important aspects that need to be considered in every educational institution. Literature shows that good management of the facilities in an educational institution can affect students’ learning process and subsequently impact the students’ academic achievement. Thus, the educational institution must critically understand how to manage the facilities well. The purpose of this research is to investigate the management of various facilities and how it impacts students’ academic achievement. This research was carried out in Universiti Teknologi MARA Cawangan Perlis with the main objective to investigate the management of facilities such as e-learning facility, classroom, library, and hostels and whether they have any effect on the students’ academic achievement. Data was collected using questionnaires which were distributed to 217 students. Data were then analyzed using SPSS software and a few analyses were carried out such as descriptive analysis, correlations, and regression analysis. The results have shown that three areas of the facilities have a significant impact on students’ academic achievement while only one area does not have a significant impact on students’ academic achievement. The results of this study could be used by an educational institution to better plan and manage their facilities and subsequently help students to increase their academic achievement.

For many authors the adoption of management control by companies is justified by the positive correlation between the implementation of this system and the increase of the organizational performance of the company. In Morocco, a single study focused on understanding the determinants of the choice of implementation of management control in the Moroccan context (Ahsina K., 2012), that is why we had the idea of developing a conceptual model adapted to Moroccan public hospitals. As a result, our problem is as follows: What is the impact of the determinants of management control on the organizational performance of the Moroccan public hospital ? This article presents, in a first point a review of the literature and the formulation of research hypotheses, in a second point the research methodology and in a last point the results of the descriptive analysis of the research.

Historical facts show that in their heyday, the kingdoms in the archipelago such as Majapahit and Sriwijaya were maritime kingdoms with enormous power. With the ability to project their military power on and through the media of the sea, the two great empires were able to control the entire archipelago and even abroad. Although the government has declared Indonesia as the world's maritime axis, in its implementation there are several obstacles and among them are related to the culture of border communities who still do things that are contrary to the laws and regulations in Indonesia. The object of the research in this study is focused on the culture of the Indonesian people who are on the border area of Indonesia and the Philippines in the province of North Sulawesi, which has hundreds of years and for generations, has a relationship with the Filipinos. So that by examining the variables related to the culture of border communities, it will be possible to determine the best maritime policy that can have positive implications for Indonesia's national security. This study aims to obtain a conceptual model that can present the cultural influence of border communities on the Indonesian government's maritime policy and its implications for Indonesia's national security, this model is needed as a basis for determining maritime policies that can have positive implications for strengthening Indonesia's national security. The conceptual model and framework are based on quantitative descriptive analysis method by describing the relationship between the variables and the indicators of each variable. The results of the study show that there is a significant influence between X1 (social culture of border communities) and Y1 (Maritime Policy), there is no significant effect between X2 (Economic activities of border communities) and Y1.   Keywords: Social culture, economic activity, illegal activities, maritime policy, national security.

Elicited imitation tasks are frequently used as a diagnostic tool in evaluating children with communication handicaps. This article presents a scoring procedure that can be used to obtain an in-depth descriptive analysis of responses produced on elicited imitation tasks. The Elicited Language Analysis Procedure makes it possible to systematically evaluate responses in terms of both their syntactic and semantic relationships to the stimulus sentences presented by the examiner. Response quality measures are also included in the analysis procedure.

Abstract. Background: Few investigations of patient perceptions of suicide prevention interventions exist, limiting our understanding of the processes and components of treatment that may be engaging and effective for high suicide-risk patients. Aims: Building on promising quantitative data that showed that adjunct mindfulness-based cognitive therapy to prevent suicidal behavior (MBCT-S) reduced suicidal thinking and depression among high suicide-risk patients, we subjected MBCT-S to qualitative inspection by patient participants. Method: Data were provided by 15 patients who completed MBCT-S during a focus group and/or via a survey. Qualitative data were coded using thematic analysis. Themes were summarized using descriptive analysis. Results: Most patients viewed the intervention as acceptable and feasible. Patients attributed MBCT-S treatment engagement and clinical improvement to improved emotion regulation. A minority of patients indicated that factors related to the group treatment modality were helpful. A small percentage of patients found that aspects of the treatment increased emotional distress and triggered suicidal thinking. These experiences, however, were described as fleeting and were not linked to suicidal behavior. Limitations: The sample size was small. Conclusion: Information gathered from this study may assist in refining MBCT-S and treatments to prevent suicidal behavior among high suicide-risk patients generally.
