Pins of loader are damaged easily, and most of them have been abandoned every year. Remanufacturing for pins can reduce waste of natural resources and energy sources. In this paper, pins with different abrasion loss were selected and remanufactured by electrical arc spraying and oxy-acetylene flame spray welding, respectively. Then, the parameters of remanufactured pins such as dimension, surface roughness, surface hardness and crack were measured. Furthermore, the friction and wear characteristics of the repair coating/nickel coating pair were tested under dry lubrication condition with the MRH-3 high-speed ring-block friction and wear testing machine. With the help of SEM (scanning electron microscope) to observe the surface morphology of blocks, abrasion resistance of spray welding coating and spray coating were analyzed. Results indicate that two remanufacturing techniques both can make the scrap pins as new products, but pins which are remanufactured in the way of oxy-acetylene flame spray welding have better abrasion resistance than the way of electrical arc spraying.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a radiant heat treatment using a dental LED unit on the surface microhardness and abrasion resistance after toothbrushing simulation of two conventional GIC materials. Two conventional GIC materials were studied in this investigation: Ketac Fil Plus Aplicap and IonoStar Molar. Twenty disk-shaped specimens (n=10) were prepared of each GIC (7 mm × 2 mm) using cylindrical Teflon molds. Group 1 specimens were left in the mold to set without any treatment, while in Group 2 after placement in the mold the specimens were irradiated for 60 sec at the top surface using a LED light-curing unit. Toothbrushing simulation was carried out using a commercial electric toothbrush which was fixed in a constructed device that allowed the heads of the brushes to be aligned parallel to the surface of the specimens and to control the pressure, with the following parameters: load of the toothbrush standardized at 250 g, medium hardness toothbrush head, and rotation sense changing every 30 sec. The toothbrush abrasion test mechanism, based on a 1.25-Hz frequency for 10,000 cycles, was equivalent to 800 days (~2 years) of brushing. Surface hardness, surface roughness, and surface loss after abrasive procedure were evaluated using Vickers method and Vertical Scanning Interferometry. Data were statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s post hoc test (a=0.05). The radiant heat treatment increased the surface microhardness and decreased surface roughness and surface loss after abrasive procedures of both the tested GIC materials but to different extent. Between the tested GIC materials there were significant differences in their tested properties (p<0.05).

The abrasion resistance of the Ti-5Al-4Zr-4Mo-2Cr-2Sn-1Fe alloy was investigated using multi-pass dual-indenter (MPDI) scratch tests with different loading conditions under a repetitive local sliding contact. Various microstructures were obtained with different heat treatments. The effect of the phase morphology on the scratch resistance and corresponding failure mechanisms were revealed. Results show that the phase morphology has a great influence on the scratch resistance and that the effect is contact-load dependent. The scratch behaviour is linked to the initial surface hardness at low loading conditions, while the work-hardening ability is more relevant at high loading conditions.

This paper briefly introduces the basic component of dismantle pillar machine, respectively analyzes the structure of rotating hydraulic clamping device and fixed hydraulic device. Here mainly discussed hardenability carburizing steels 20CrNi3 that selected for clamping block, after carburizing, quenching and low-temperature tempering, obtains mechanical properties as following, intensity limit 950Mpa, yield limit 750Mpa, expanding rate 11%, section shrinkage rate 55%, impact toughness 90J.cm-2, surface hardness HRC58-63. The paper points out that the surface abrasion resistance and center impact resistance of clamping block is obviously better than surface hardening medium-carbon steel, and lamping block has a higher flexural fatigue performance. 40Cr is selected to make locating sleeve, it was quenched and tempered. The steering parts of dish-shape spring is chromalized on surface, so it can resist bending, twist and impact, its surface abrasion resistance is high and service life is long.

Aim: The aimed study was to evaluate the influence of silver nitrate on surfacehardness and tensile strength of acrylic resins.Materials and methods: A total of 60 specimens were made from heat polymerizingresins. Two mechanical tests were utilized (surface hardness and tensile strength)and 4 experimental groups according to the concentration of silver nitrate used. The specimens without the use of silver nitrate were considered as control. Fortensile strength, all specimens were subjected to force till fracture. For surfacehardness, the specimens were tested via a durometer hardness tester. Allspecimens data were analyzed via ANOVA and Tukey tests. Results: The addition of silver nitrate to acrylic resins reduced significantly thetensile strength. Statistically, highly significant differences were found among allgroups (P≤0.001). Also, the difference between control and experimental groupswas highly significant (P≤0.001). For surface hardness, the silver nitrate improvedthe surface hardness of acrylics. Highly significant differences were statisticallyobserved between control and 900 ppm group (P≤0.001); and among all groups(P≤0.001)with exception that no significant differences between control and150ppm; and between 150ppm and 900ppm groups(P>0.05).Conclusion: The addition of silver nitrate to acrylics reduced significantly the tensilestrength and improved slightly the surface hardness.
