The main symptoms of COVID-19 are high temperature, throat infection, and irregular heartbeat. An integrated wearable device has been presented in this paper for the measurement of temperature and heartbeat in real time using different sensors and NodeMCU ESP8266. For temperature, the DHT11 sensor is used and, for heartbeat, the pulse sensor is used. After reading the data from the sensors processed by NodeMCU ESP8266, it is sent to the firebase database using wireless connection (Wi-Fi module). From the database, the data are displayed in an android application. On the basis of certain conditions of the data, the user as well as the administrator is notified regarding the user’s current health. For the social distancing, an ultrasonic sensor is used. The sensor will warn the user, if he/she is in close contact with someone within a specified distance. The user’s current location is also tracked using the location services of android. A module named COVID-meter, based on the disease.sh-Open Disease Data API, was also included in the research for reading of real-time data of different countries related to COVID-19 like total cases, total deaths, total recovered patients, and so on. The proposed device can be used in both populated and rural areas, but in rural areas it will be much more important because people are unable to reach a doctor on time; thus, they can check their health conditions remotely using the proposed device.

Background: In China, where follow-up with hospitalized attempters is generally lacking, there is a great need for inexpensive and effective means of maintaining contact and decreasing recidivism. Aims: Our objective was to test whether mobile telephone message contacts after discharge would be feasible and acceptable to suicide attempters in China. Methods: Fifteen participants were recruited from suicide attempters seen in the Emergency Department in Wuhan, China, to participate in a pilot study to receive mobile telephone messages after discharge. All participants have access to a mobile telephone, and there is no charge for the user to receive text messages. Results: Most participants (12) considered the text message contacts an acceptable and useful form of help and would like to continue to receive them for a longer period of time. Conclusions: This suggests that, as a low-cost and quick method of intervention in areas where more intensive follow-up is not practical or available, telephone messages contacts are accessible, feasible, and acceptable to suicide attempters. We hope that this will inspire future research on regular and long-term message interventions to prevent recidivism in suicide attempters.

This paper talks about an innovative and rather an interesting manner of intimating the message to the people using the wireless electronic display on the screen. This will help us in passing any message almost immediately without any delay just by sending an SMS which is better and more reliable than the old traditional way of passing the message on a screen. Our aim is to reduce the amount of paper work and make use the possible technological resources.  In this paper, we are trying to implement our system in such a way that it can display message send from the authorized user to the various receiving ends. So spreading of important message or screen will take place within the very short span of time to respective mobile application. Means user or registered person will be able to send the message from anywhere and this message will be displayed on a screen at the respective place.

Vehicle collision sensor system and reporting accident to police is an electronic device installed in a vehicle to inform police man in case of accident to track the vehicles location. This system works using pressure sensor, GPS and GSM technology. These technology embedded together to sense the vehicle collision and indicate the position of the vehicle or locate the place of accident in order to solve the problem immediately (as soon as possible). For doing so AT89S52 microcontroller is interfaced serially to a GSM modem, GPS receiver, and pressure sensor. A GSM modem is used to send the position (Latitude and Longitude) of the vehicle, the plate of the vehicle and the SMS text from the accident place. The GPS modem will continuously give the data (longitude and latitude) and Load sensor senses the collision of the vehicle against obstacles and input to microcontroller. As load sensor senses the collision, the GSM start to send the plate of the vehicle, text message and the position of the vehicle in terms of latitude and longitude in real time.

In order to solve the problem of the hand module’s online temperature measurement in Nitrile glove production line process, we have developed a set of moving objects or device used for online temperature measurement. The device is mounted infrared temperature sensor, by using PLC-controlled synchronous tracking technology it can track the hand module in the production line, so it can ensure the infrared temperature sensor and hand module synchronously measure its temperature correctly. By using configuration software kingview, we have developed mold temperature monitoring online measurement interface, real-time monitoring of the mold temperature opponents. After analysis of experimental results we concluded that the device work stable, acquisition of temperature reliably, so it has a promotional value.

The Canadian prescription process requires a person to go through several steps. Prescription medications have associated risks and benefits and it is important for people to be aware of these before and while they are taking medications. One of the approaches to informing people about new prescription medications is that they are provided Consumer Medication Information (CMI). CMI is given to Canadians at the pharmacy when they pick up prescriptions, they will be taking for the first time. This study used semi-structured interviews to examine the lived experiences of a sample of Canadians (N = 36) to identify opportunities for improvement in how and when they are informed about new prescription medications. The findings were synthesized into a journey map. Generally, participants wanted to receive CMI digitally and earlier in the prescription process. Adopting these changes could have several benefits which include loss prevention and increased accessibility to CMI as well as more participatory decision making and opportunities to ask questions. Future research is warranted to explore similar topics with a larger sample and determine what method (e.g., email, website, mobile application) would be most suitable.

Presented are the developments using methods of monitoring the psychophysiological state of a person that are designed to improve the work safety of the employees at the metallurgical enterprises. A wearable device was developed for taking readings of the psychophysiological reactions (pulse, galvanic skin response, body and environmental temperature, etc.), and for determining the location of an employee within the production area in real time. The device can also record a sharp change in the position of a person in space, which indirectly indicates an emergency. The device indicates and reads changes throughout the shift and transfers to the server; when one of the monitored parameters increases, a message is generated on the operator monitor about a problem in the employee condition and his location. Previously developed program «System for monitoring the psychophysiological state of an operator at the metallurgical industry» with the help of a software processes the information from the device and warns the operator about the occurred hazard, and, also, suggests the ways for solving the problem. However, the decision itself remains with the operator. Under the conditions of working process modeling using the given parameters, the situations (accidents, personnel selection) were simulated that were close to real ones, which allowed to conduct a comparative analysis of the maximum and minimum permissible characteristics of the psychophysiological reactions for the employees of the metallurgical production. The developed device and monitoring system can significantly reduce (or completely prevent) the number of errors and accidents at the production site that are provoked by the influence of the human factor.

Oil was discovered in large quantities in Nigeria in 1956 and exploration began in the same year. Before oil, agriculture and fishing had assured the Niger Delta people of a bright future. Since 1956, oil has been extracted from the Niger Delta with destructive consequences on the environment, bringing about environmental degradation and destruction of the people’s primary means of livelihood. Land and water were badly polluted, and the health of the people affected because of leaks from oil pipelines, gas flaring and acid rains. Several petitions and non-violent protests by Delta communities, women and youth against environmental destruction failed to receive attention. Rather, opposition to peaceful protests earned the people military invasions of their communities, clampdowns and jailings. The rise of militarism and terrorism in the Niger Delta was the result of the Federal Government and Oil Companies’ clampdown on non-violent protests for environmental justice in the Niger Delta. This paper discusses the history of oil exploration in the Niger Delta, oil laws, effects of oil exploration in the region, and the rise of militants and terrorists in the area. The paper uses the term, ‘environmental Justice’ to denote unfair treatment and destruction of the Delta environment resulting from oil exploration, non implementation and enforcement of environmental laws and regulations, and abuse of human rights. The paper suggests solutions for peace in the Niger Delta.
