The paper aims describing a collaborative international initiative of four European universities to develop a training program for supporting university staff in creating and using multimedia resources effectively. Thus, teaching, researcher and administrative staff from higher education institutions will develop their digital skills to create more realistic and attractive content that should improve university prestige through a better communication process with the stakeholders. We relate the presented approach to MUST project (Multimedia Competencies for University Staff to Empower University - Community Collaborations, 2020-1-RO01-KA203-080399), that aims develop and implement a new multimedia curriculum and training program. The training curriculum and the created educational resources make up a dedicated service offered by universities through DigiCoaches who will provide training to other internal/external users/trainees in creating-using multimedia technologies effectively.

The changing sociological scene places greater emphasis today on self-fulfilment psychology and individual expectations, often at the expense of responsibility in relationships. This, coupled with greater demands on staff (especially on managers of corporations) places, at times, unrealistic demands on normally stable relationships, particularly in a marriage. The result is increased family tension, often resulting in marriage breakdown with significant scarring of partners and children; those individuals, so affected, suffer reduced productivity in their work roles. As we approach the 21st century, there is emphasis, in the management of corporations, on innovation and cost efficiency, thus placing greater pressure on individual staff. This paper takes the position that corporations, in their own self-interest and in the interest of staff, need to assess the impact of their current policies on not only their staff but also on staff families. While maintaining that it remains the single responsibility of individuals to make decisions on managing, effectively, their corporate/private lives, the author supports the proposal of others (Evans and Bartolome, 1980) that corporations' policies should help, not hinder, the process.Corporations which continue to ignore these considerations will incur long term consequences with significant impact on productivity and efficient management, aside from possible disastrous impact on their staff and families.Corporations in Australia are taking steps to address this situation but much more needs to be done. This was highlighted in the March 1985 'Middle Management' course with its associated Spouses Programme presented jointly by Australian Mineral Foundation and The Australian Administrative Staff College.Effective communication is at the heart of the matter, but no amount of training on this subject will bear fruit unless there is an associated commitment by executives to improve the effectiveness of their communication process, both in their corporate and family roles.

The lack of knowledge of advance care planning and training of communication skills among nurses in Taiwan is one of the main reasons for the low rate of advance directive signing. However, there is no specific and effective solution to this problem. The purposes of this study were (1) to develop and pilot testing of an advance care planning simulation-based communication training program and (2) to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of the program. This study was conducted in three phases. Phase 1: Developing an advance care planning simulation-based communication training program; Phase 2: Conducting a pilot test; Phase 3: Evaluating the feasibility and acceptability of the program. Twelve convenient participants from a medical center in central Taiwan were selected. The participants believed that team-based learning was beneficial for several reasons. First, it helped to clarify the participants’ understanding of advance care planning and improve their communication skills. Second, role-playing, as one of the components, was helpful for discovering their own shortcomings in communication skills while debriefing enabled them to identify their blind spots in the communication process. Finally, the reflection log documented their weekly performance so they were able to reflect upon their weekly performance, improve their performance, and become more confident. All twelve participants signed the consent form and completed the whole training program. The participants were satisfied with the program, affirming that the timing and content of the program were appropriate and that the expected learning outcomes could be achieved. According to participant feedback, the program was beneficial in improving their knowledge of advance care planning and confidence in communication. Thus, it is feasible and acceptable to introduce communication of advance care planning programs into the staff training protocols of healthcare organizations. Clinical trial registration: NCT04312295.

Public Speaking involves the creation and delivery of a formally organized communication process in front of audiences coming from different cultural, political, religious, economic, educational, and social orientations. Public speeches follow the same principle of what content should be included (like in the essay), and in effect, students are encouraged to use certain strategies. In this study, the focus was to examine how critical thinking and the organization of speech writing was implemented in a Public Speaking course in South Korea. Data were collected over 3 semesters with a total of 47 Korean national undergraduate English majors. The following questions provided the base of this study: 1) what role does critical thinking play in the creation and organization of written speeches by Korean university students? and 2) how do students perceive the usefulness of critical thinking in a Korean university public speaking course. Furthermore, this study collected both quantitative and qualitative data; therefore, the participants’ responses are recorded with percentages, and further reasons are provided by students. Data were then triangulated by examining students' actual written speeches with the prescribed rubrics. The findings suggest that engaging students in critical reflection, genre reading, and attention to speech discourse can lead to the overall improvement of both critical thinking and organization of student speeches. From these findings, a pilot public speaking training program matrix is presented to help prepare English majors in South Korea (if they may pursue teaching) or similar contexts for teaching courses related to public speaking.

This study aimed to develop a proposed training program to improve the job performance of Najran University (NU) administrative staff in the area of e- management. The study used the descriptive approach. To this end, a questionnaire was constructed for this purpose, consisting of 55 statements divided into six domains (e- planning, e- organization, e- communication, e- control, e- evaluation, and e- decision making). The sample consisted of 84 male and female employees, who were randomly selected from the research population. Findings of this current study showed the total means of the questionnaire obtained (3.9), which is considered as "moderate". Concerning the six domains, their means were between (2.98- 3.35). The results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences among the participants on the performance of administrative staff that could be attributed to the variables of the study (gender, qualification, years of experience in the university, and the participation in the training courses). Based on the results of the study, the proposed training program for developing the performance of NUadministrative staff was constructed in accordance with a list of training needs. A number of recommendations were made in light of the results of the study.

The relevance of this article is dictated by the requirements of time, as it reflects the inclusion of a mechanism for optimizing the communicative and educational potential by means of multimedia resources in the development of legal disciplines in a specialized University. Multimedia technologies have become a feature of modern communication in the context of professional education. It is impossible not to take into account and even more so not to use this factor in the educational process: this is one of the conditions for successful training of a lawyer. One of the ways to optimize the communicative and educational potential of professional education is to use multimedia resources. The article presents ways, techniques and methods of using multimedia resources in classroom classes in legal disciplines, in particular, by the example of teaching the discipline «Administrative law». The authors summarize and analyze the experience of foreign and Russian studies of the concept of thematic potential, updating the meaning of communication and educational, and present their own methodology for optimizing it.

Interventions addressing the endemic of sexual violence at European universities are scarce, particularly those that take a bystander focus to sexual violence prevention and involve university staff. Evidence-based data on their effectiveness are also lacking. This article reports the description of a pilot evaluation study of the USVreact Italian training program addressed to university staff for counteracting sexual violence. We assessed initial (T1) representations of gender-based violence, rape myth acceptance, and attitudes to bystander intervention (172 participants), and evaluated the effectiveness of the course by comparing, via paired-sample t tests, the responses before and after (T2) training (66 participants). Comparison between pre- (T1) and posttraining (T2) responses indicated that the participants’ ability to recognize subtle forms of violence and reduce rape myth acceptance was increased after training. Relatively few training programs based on the bystander approach to prevent gender-based violence at university have been performed to date in Europe and data on their effectiveness are scarce. Several limitations notwithstanding, the present pilot evaluation study provides suggestions for a more systematic evaluation of training interventions that address cultural legitimation of gender-based violence and that sustain bystander interventions in sexual assault prevention.
