The Turkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Program, in which interdisciplinary studies increase efficiency, has also been renewed with these features in mind. There are 52 different electives in the Turkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Program published in 2018. This study was carried out to determine what factors affecting prospective Turkish teachers while choosing these courses. 162 prospective Turkish teachers studying at Sinop University Faculty of Education Turkish Language Teaching Department participated in the study conducted in the survey model in the 2019-2020 academic year. The questionnaire developed by Tezcan and Gümüş (2008) as a data collection tool to determine the factors affecting the course choices of university students was updated and applied. While analyzing the data, 5 themes were determined as “items related to being economical”, “items related to career goals”, “items related to teaching staff”, “items related to friend effect/environmental factors” and “items related to course features”. Prospective Turkish teachers selected courses that they can easily pass and contain information that will help them in their professional life; the lecturers considering the course to be successful in their fields; that the circle of friends is effective in the choice of elective courses and the family is ineffective in this process; the results they chose for lessons related to their talents and interests were reached.

This article is a review of the theory of speech act by Searle & Austin (1962). Describe what the action strategies used in the language themselves are speaking and what speech acts are used by a group of prospective teachers while apologizing, complaining, rejecting and giving thanks. Focusing on the paper written by Akdeniz University, Faculty of Education Nihat Bayat, titled ‘A study on the use of speech acts.’ This present paper uses descriptive qualitative analysis in an attempt to address the gap how to determine what type of speech act is used in the Turkish language strategy, which will provide convenience in teaching Turkish as a native and foreign language. Look at using data content analysis obtained from descriptive analysis for deeper processes. The data in this study were collected through asking participants to write the structure of the language they used in apologizing, complaining, rejecting and thanking. This present article aims to review and discuss the findings, as well as the strengths and weaknesses found in Nihat's paper. The article See made seems to have a clear flow on how to explain these two types of education and made the discourse easy to understand. Therefore, the replication of Nihat's research should be easy enough for similar research purposes.

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between prospective teachers’ attitudes towards uncertainty and their motivation in teaching. The research was conducted with a correlational model. In this study, exploratory and predictive correlation techniques were used. The study group was comprised of 396 fourth grade students studying at the Inonu University Faculty of Education in the academic year of 2015–2016. A simple linear regression analysis and Pearson Product Moment analysis were conducted on the obtained data. A moderate negative and significant relationship was found between prospective teachers’ attitudes towards uncertainty and their motivation in teaching, and the attitude towards to uncertainty was observed to be a significant predictor of motivation in teaching. In addition to this, a moderate negative significant relationship was found between prospective teachers’ attitudes towards uncertainty and their intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, and the attitudes towards to uncertainty was observed to be a significant predictor of the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.

The term dialect refers to a variation of a language that is peculiar to a specific place, city or region, and therefore, can be regarded as the richness of that language. This study aimed to investigate preservice teachers’ attitudes towards Anatolian dialects. A screening model was used. Study sample consisted of 143 first-, second-, third and fourth-grade students of the Department of Turkish Language Teaching of the Faculty of Education of Muş Alparslan University in the fall semester of 2018-2019 academic year. Data were collected using the “Attitude Scale towards Anatolian Dialects” (ASTAD) developed by Pehlivan (2012). It is a Likert-type scale consisting of 22 items and 4 subscales. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) for Windows 22.0 at a significance level of 0.05. Results showed that participants had a moderate level of attitude towards Anatolian dialects. Participants’ attitudes towards Anatolian dialects significantly differed by bilingualism and grade while gender, mother’s and fathers’ educational levels, and socioeconomic status had no significant effect. Based on the results, it is recommended that activities, seminars and conferences be held to inform teachers and preservice teachers about what to do when they encounter students speaking local dialects. Parents and students should also be taught that local dialects are the richness of languages but that they should not use them in school environment.
