The purpose of this study is to consider the Turkish learning situations of the 16 Arab-origin students learning Turkish at TÖMER subordinate to a state university in the Aegean region from the perspectives of both students and the teachers who teach them Turkish and investigate their language learning experiences from many perspectives. In order to achieve this goal, a qualitative research method was used. Data were collected from the participating students and lecturers through semi-structured interviews. The method of content analysis was used in the data analysis. Based on the findings obtained in the data analysis, it was concluded that the students stated that; they learnt Turkish to study at a university and because they had to live in Turkey; they had the most difficulty in the writing skill; they found the Turkish lessons difficult due to the different language structure and alphabet. On the other hand, the participating lecturers stated that; the students had difficulties in writing; they used Turkish by having conversations with Turkish native speakers and at work; the mistakes they made the most were suffix and spelling mistakes, and in order to solve these problems, they got the students to play concept games, and had lessons in different places outside the classroom by getting the students to do a lot of practice.

Twitter and Microblogging are two separate entities but completes each other. Both of them can be used as language learning tools and their potential has been proved by several scholars. This study tries to examine students’ experiences in integrating microblogging with twitter. It is also study about the beneficial roles of microblogging with Twitter in language learning, its relation to writing, and its appropriateness in language learning. This study employs a qualitative research methodology, and case study as its research design. Semi-structured interviews and questionnaires were employed in this study to find out about participants' views about microblogging and Twitter. From this study, it can be concluded that the participants of the study underwent various experiences during the implementation of microblogging with Twitter. They also felt that microblogging with Twitter at some point advantages them to systematically arrange their ideas, and allows them to choose appropriate diction of their ideas. They also stated that Twitter can be an appropriate means in language learning, especially in English writing<em>.</em>

Abstract As part of the trend toward internationalization of higher education, governments and universities have introduced policies to encourage the expansion of English-medium instruction (EMI). However, top-down policies do not necessarily translate to teaching and learning practices. This article provides a case study examining the implementation of undergraduate EMI engineering programs at a state university in Turkey to explore the gaps that exist between national- and institutional-level EMI policies and classroom-level practices. Data were collected through policy documents, classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with teachers, and focus group discussions with students. The findings suggest that the implementation of EMI varies across classrooms, even within the same university department. Despite policies that envision one-language-at-a-time instruction, the EMI lecturers in this study varied in terms of language preference and teaching practice in their EMI lectures. Implications are discussed with respect to policy planning, teacher training, and the expansion of EMI across university contexts.

The implementation of learning is the most important part in improving the quality of education. The Covid-19 pandemic period is part of the challenge for education so that learning continues. The purpose of this study was to investigate in depth the implementation of distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is qualitative with a case study approach. The research was conducted at Muhammadiyah Pakel Elementary School. The data sources in this study were teachers, parents, and students. Data collection techniques using structured interviews assisted with guidelines that are structured questions systematically. Data analysis using the Denzin Licoln case study model assisted by atlas.ti software version 8. The technique used to improve the quality of research is source triangulation. The results of this study provide information that in the implementation of the implementation of distance learning there are three factors, namely policy, distance learning process, and human resource activeness. These three factors are novelty which can be recommendations for the three education centers in order to be part of improving the quality of distance learning education during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This study aims to figure how is the dynamic or economic condition change caused by the existence of Islamic tourism of Sunan Kalijaga Tomb to stall sellers who most of them are the locals lives around the Islamic tourism of Sunan Kalijaga tomb. The research method used is descriptive case study method. Where the data collection done by interview and observation. In this research, the informant is the parties involved in the tourism activity, which is the seller, the visitor, and the worker around the Islamic tourism of Sunan Kalijaga tomb, Demak District. The data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation, and make a conclusion.The research result suggests that the existence of Islamic tourism of Sunan Kalijaga tomb Demak District brings economical change towards the seller works around.

Background: Professional nurses employed in trauma units encounter numerous stressors in their practice environment. They use different strategies to cope with this stress, including venting traumatic information to their partners and other family members. Aims: To describe how partners of professional nurses cope with traumatic information being vented to them. Methods: A qualitative research method with an interpretive descriptive inquiry design was used to explore, interpret and describe the coping experiences of the nurses’ partners. Purposive sampling was used to select a total of 14 partners, but only ten participated in semi-structured interviews. Tesch’s eight steps of open coding were used for data analysis. Results: Four main themes were identified indicating adaptive and maladaptive coping skills, namely partners’ experiences of traumatic information vented to them; partners’ coping activities; reciprocal communication and relationship support between partners and nurses; and resilience of partners to deal with the nursing profession. Conclusion: Partners employed different ways to cope with traumatic information. It was essential for partners and nurses to be supported by nurses’ practice environments and to develop resilience to fulfil reciprocal supportive roles in their relationships.

Technologically developing nations are more vulnerable to the negative effects of e-waste because they are less able to manage or process e-waste generated. The complexity of e-waste in terms of the dynamics of its generation and growth, particularly in developing countries, is raising many concerns. A systematic study of the e-waste dynamics emerges in the context of the need for proper understanding of the problem and formulating an informed policy for managing the ewaste problem. Images and other data about e-waste were collected using digital cameras and three structured interviews of users and dealers. The data were collected at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife as the case study. Two hundred and ninety copies of questionnaires were administered and collated. The numerical data were analyzed using R data analysis and process tool. The results of the R analysis showed that at a 95% confidence level, the computer equipment that will be disposed on OAU campus by 2020 would be 417 units. This study uses a case study research method with a qualitative study design. The aims of the study were to find out the domains of Acehnese language shifts in Langsa and the reasons why Acehnese teenagers are shifting their language. Five districts in Langsa, one of the cities in Aceh, Indonesia, became the research location. They were Langsa Kota, Langsa Barat, Langsa Timur, Langsa Baroe and Langsa Lama. The respondents were Acehnese young adults within the age range of 18 to 21 years old. There were 10 respondents from each district, making a total of 50 respondents. The instruments used in this study were observations, a questionnaire, and interviews. Simple statistics were used to analyse the questionnaire, meanwhile the data analysis for the observations and interviews followed an interactive model from Miles and Huberman, namely: data reduction, data display, verification of data, and conclusions. The results showed that the domains of education (30 respondents) and of friendship (27 respondents had the largest number of shifters. Meanwhile, the family domain had the least shifts, so it was concluded that shifts rarely occurred in this domain. Finally, there are three fundamental factors that influenced the shift: environment, habitual usage, and choice of language.

Polyglots are extraordinary people in terms of language ability. Therefore, it is interesting to academically explore their motivations for learning several languages. This research is novel compared to previous studies because scant extant research exists of polyglots’ motivation for learning several languages. To this end, researchers collected data from semi structured interviews obtained from five informants. The method that we used was a descriptive case study. Findings showed that the polyglots’ motivation for learning multiple foreign languages were (a) pleasure, (b) social intercourse, (c) professional purposes, and (d) academic purposes. Mostly, the previous research revealed that motivation for people learning foreign languages were for social interaction, professional reasons, and academic purposes. Meanwhile, the motivation of polyglots for learning many languages besides those three motivations was for pleasure. This is the key point behind their commitment to sustainable multiple language learning.

The purpose of this article is to evaluate the application of various green management measures in selected accommodation facilities in Czechia, namely in the town of Mladá Boleslav and its surroundings. This study was carried out using mixed research methods including semi-structured interviews with accommodation facility management staff. The interviews were complemented with a questionnaire survey which focused on the application of eco-friendly solutions in accommodation facilities. The total sample of participating facilities represented 39.6% of those in the town and its surroundings. In the data analysis stage, correspondence analysis was used. The results suggest that the higher the category, the stronger the trend to use eco-friendly methods in running accommodation facilities.

Numerous studies have found a positive connection between learners’ motivation towards foreign language and foreign language achievement. Drawn upon semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions among students, this study sheds light on the significant impact of motivation in English language learning. Further, this study explores the lived experiences of students and the factors influencing their motivation in learning the English Language. Purposeful sampling was to select participants in the different courses of Quirino State University, Cabarroguis Campus, Philippines. The results revealed that the teacher's influence, enjoyment in learning, desire to learn, parental influence, and classroom environment were the factors influencing students' motivation in learning the English Language. Thus, this study suggests that teachers should be aware of these factors of inspiration in their classrooms and consider these as significant parts in developing an English Language Intervention Program to motivate the students and improve their proficiency in learning the English Language.
