This essay introduces the subject and interpretative perspective of the monograph ‘Unboxing the Sharing Economy’, and is divided into three parts. The first part illustrates the evolution of the concept of the ‘sharing economy’ and the main analytical implications. The second part outlines the key findings of a systematic review of the literature, which indicates both that academic research on the sharing economy has expanded considerably since 2013, and that sociology’s contribution to this debate remains underdeveloped and somewhat incoherent. The final part both locates the contributions to the monograph in the context of other studies and summarizes its content.

In recent years, due to its great economic and social potential, the recognition of facial expressions linked to emotions has become one of the most flourishing applications in the field of artificial intelligence, and has been the subject of many developments. However, despite significant progress, this field is still subject to many theoretical debates and technical challenges. It therefore seems important to make a general inventory of the different lines of research and to present a synthesis of recent results in this field. To this end, we have carried out a systematic review of the literature according to the guidelines of the PRISMA method. A search of 13 documentary databases identified a total of 220 references over the period 2014–2019. After a global presentation of the current systems and their performance, we grouped and analyzed the selected articles in the light of the main problems encountered in the field of automated facial expression recognition. The conclusion of this review highlights the strengths, limitations and main directions for future research in this field.

Philanthropy in family enterprises operates at the crossroads of family, business, and society. Most of the research in this area is approached from the business or the individual level; thus, we have a fragmented understanding of philanthropy in family enterprises. This article presents a systematic review of the literature on the subject. Based on 55 sources published between 1988 and 2014, we explain the drivers of this behavior, the vehicles used to practice it, and the outcomes tied to the practice of philanthropy in family enterprises. We identify gaps in our understanding and provide ideas for future research.

This paper aims to present the quality and its direct influence on important characteristics that dominate the Design of the Supply Network, demonstrating the main aspects involved and the strategy developed to achieve a better performance.  The study is based on a literature review and the main objective of this systematic review of the literature was to identify and classify all previous studies that examined some aspect of network analysis in the context of the supply chain since so far. It provides a detailed description of the most of the subject and contributes with a set of findings that capture the current state of art of the topic. Quality in the supply chain is a new subject and little studied, but it is observed that its influence is present in all sectors of the economy. The classification of Supply Chains has been highlighted as a flow of materials and information that go from suppliers to final customers in the best possible way. With the development of a management that addresses the Supply Chain in a relevant way, the organization can achieve benefits that put it in a competitive position in the market.

ObjectiveTo assess the relationship between states of anger and stroke.MethodsSystematic review of the literature.ResultsIn total, 21 papers were selected for the systematic review of data published on the subject of anger and stroke. A state of anger may be a risk factor for stroke, as well as a consequence of brain lesions affecting specific areas that are caused by a stroke. Scales to assess anger varied among authors. There was no consensus regarding the area of brain lesions that might lead to a state of anger. Although some authors agreed that lesions on the right side led to angrier behaviour, others found that lesions on the left side were more relevant to anger. Likewise, there was no consensus regarding the prevalence of anger pre or post-stroke. Some authors did not even find that these two conditions were related.ConclusionAlthough most authors have accepted that there is a relationship between anger and stroke, studies with uniform methodology need to be conducted if this association is to be properly evaluated and understood.

ABSTRACT Background: Over the last 30 years, a variety of studies reporting the effects of vitamin A on memory have been published. Objective: To perform a rigorous systematic review of the literature on vitamin A and memory in order to organize evidence-based data on the subject. Methods: Four authors carried out the systematic review in accordance with strict guidelines. The terms "vitamin A" OR "retinol" OR "retinoic acid" AND "memory" OR "cognition" OR "Alzheimer" were searched in virtually all medical research databases. Results: From 236 studies containing the key words, 44 were selected for this review, numbering 10 reviews and 34 original articles. Most studies used animal models for studying vitamin A and cognition. Birds, mice and rats were more frequently employed whereas human studies accounted for only two reports on brain tissue from autopsies and one on the role of isotretinoin in cognition among individuals taking this medication to treat acne. Conclusion: Vitamin A may be an important and viable complement in the treatment and prevention of Alzheimer's disease. Clinical trials are imperative and, at present, there is no evidence-based data to recommend vitamin A supplementation for the prevention or treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

Introduction: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is an extracorporeal gas exchange method which, despite a number of advantages, carries the risk of many complications. ECMO is a modern intensive care method which in many cases is the last resort for the patient. Care and supervision are provided by a multidisciplinary team of specialists: physicians, perfusionists, and nurses. The aim of this review is to analyze the occurrence of delirium in ECMO patients. Methods: Both authors independently extracted data from all included trials and assessed the risk of bias. A systematic review was performed using the protocol of the Cochrane Collaboration Risk of Bias tool. The search was based on PubMed, Web of Science, and Mendeley. Three articles from recent years have been analyzed in this work. Literature selection was made using the PRISMA checklist. The analyzed literature proves how important the topic of delirium is in ECMO therapy. In the case of pharmacotherapy, there are many combinations of drugs that prevent the occurrence of the delirium phenomenon. Results: This work deals with the subject of delirium after ECMO, which is not a common subject in the popular literature. Many of the elements mentioned in the articles analyzed show how important this topic is. The authors place great emphasis on the elements which are not related to pharmacotherapy and the prevention of delirium. For the prevention of delirium after ECMO, a psychological approach to the patient is important. As far as pharmacotherapy is concerned, it is the last element to be taken into account in the prevention of delirium in ECMO patients. An overview of the literature indicates that the subject of nursing care has been omitted; however, there are tools which allow nurses to assess delirium in patients. Conclusion: Delirium in patients undergoing ECMO therapy is a topic that has not been fully described in the literature. This review of the literature shows how important it is to treat a patient with delirium during this therapy and how important it may be to have an early diagnosis of delirium to prevent complications.

Summary Objective: Considering the importance of screening for prostate cancer, the possibility of damage resulting from indiscriminate screening and the difficulty of disclosure and adherence to the main guidelines on the subject, we aimed to identify current guidelines, look for common approaches and establish a core of conducts. Method: Systematic review of the literature on screening practice guidelines for prostate cancer searching the databases PubMed, Lilacs and Google Scholar and active search in the sites of several national health entities. Results: Twelve (12) guidelines were selected, whose analysis resulted in the identification of six common points of conduct, with the following minimum core of recommendations: (1) screening indication or not: must be individualized, and preceded by an informed decision; (2) tests used: PSA with or without rectal digital examination; (3) age at which initiate testing in men in general risk: 50-55 years; (4) age at which to initiate testing in men at increased risk: 40-45 years; (5) the interval between screening: annual or biennial; and (6) age at which to discontinue testing: 70 years-old or life expectancy less than 10 years. Conclusion: Although there are differences between them, it was possible to establish a minimum core of conducts that may be useful in the daily practice of the physician.
