10538 Background: With projected provider shortages and increasing pharmaceutical complexity, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Pharmacists are becoming increasingly utilized members of hematology/oncology teams. Despite significant interdependence in practice, inter-professional training remains rare. Medical IPE has been shown to improve learning satisfaction and attitudes, however, IPE has seldom incorporated inter-professionalism into content development nor has it been evaluated in terms of sustainability. Methods: We developed a pilot IPE curriculum consisting of six, 1-hour long, case-based sessions. A preparation phase required a lead APP, Fellow, and Pharmacist to collectively build a case around three teaching points; 1) diagnosis, 2) treatment, and 3) coordination of care. The APP and Pharmacist presented the case while the Fellow moderated to ensure active participation among all groups. Surveys on collaboration, interaction, interest, and connection, as well as open-ended comments on strengths and areas for improvement were collected after each session ( > 80% completion rate). Results: With 3 of 6 sessions completed (02/19), attendance was stable, averaging 10 of 18 (Fellow), 5 of 8 (APP), and 3 of 6 (Pharmacist). Sessions were rated an average of 4.6/5 on collaboration, 4.5/5 interactive, 4.7/5 application, 4.3/5 communication, and 4.2/5 professionalism. 69% of attendees reported being more likely to attend future conferences. 65% reported feeling more connected to the care team. The most common suggestion for improvement was giving more teaching opportunities to the APPs. Session leaders were initially recruited but quickly transitioned to eager volunteers. Conclusions: Our IPE curriculum shows promising initial sustainability with perceived high marks in collaboration and applicability. Incorporating inter-professionalism into content development and longitudinal delivery to providers in practice provides a novel approach to educating IP teams. Future steps include ensuring continued sustainability, conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, and dissemination to other units.

Abstract Background Education in health policy and advocacy is recognized as an important component of health professional training. To date, curricula have only been assessed at the medical school level. Objective We sought to address the gap in these curricula for residents and other health professionals in primary care. Innovation We created a health policy and advocacy curriculum for the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, Center of Excellence in Primary Care Education, an interprofessional, ambulatory-based, training program that includes internal medicine residents, nurse practitioner fellows, health psychology fellows, and pharmacy residents. The policy module focuses on health care finance and delivery, and the advocacy module emphasizes negotiation skills and opinion-based writing. Trainee attitudes were surveyed before and after the course, and using the Wilcoxon signed rank test, relative change was determined. Knowledge acquisition was evaluated with precourse and postcourse examinations using a paired sample t test. Results From July 2011 through June 2013, 16 trainees completed the course. In the postcourse survey, trainees demonstrated improved comfort with understanding health law and the American health care system (Likert mean increased from 2.1 to 3.0, P  =  .01), as well as with associated advocacy skills (Likert mean increased from 2.0 to 2.9, P  =  .04). Knowledge-based test scores also showed significant improvement (increasing from 55% to 78% correct, P ≤ .001). Conclusions Our curriculum integrating core health policy knowledge with advocacy skills represents a novel approach in postgraduate health professional education and resulted in sustained improvement in knowledge and comfort with health policy and advocacy.

The quality of programs in library and information activity offered by various advanced professional training centers are discussed along with the issues and vectors of advanced training of the RNPLS&T staff. The RNPLS&T has to choose between expensive courses when new knowledge and skills are guaranteed, and online express courses (fast, easy, cheaply) where no new competences are guaranteed though employees get standard certificates. This trend facilitates establishing more and more online training centers that are just making money due to the demand for standardized certification. The double standards of education programs evaluation influence the quality of knowledge, though documented and certified. The authors argue that the above mentioned educational organizations have to be controlled, the more so, as the libraries are to accomplish their staff appraisal.

The paper considers the concept of professional formation and its projection on the professional training and professional activity of the prospective teacher through the concepts of formation and development. As a result of the analysis of existing views on the phases, stages and periods of professional formation, the main ones were identified, which are due to the time frame - the period before choosing the institution where professional training will be carried out, the actual professional education and the period of it. Having analyzed the set of competencies (subject, general pedagogical, professional-communicative, managerial, innovative, reflective) provided by the Federal State Educational Standard in relation to the teachers profession, as well as referring to the models of Hard-skills and Soft-skills, we identified indicators (skills) of the professional development of the prospective teacher and invited the 3rd-year students of the Institute of Russian Language and Literature of the Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University to evaluate these skills in the order of their significance. The assessment was carried out on a 5-point scale, where 1 point is an absolutely insignificant indicator, 2 - rather insignificant, 3 - rather significant, 4 - significant, 5 - very significant. As a result, we were able to build their gradation and divide them by areas, as well as allocate 3 levels in the process of professional development. Taking into account these levels, we considered how the educational environment can influence the professional development of future teachers through educational, extracurricular activities and through the environment.

In connection with the changes that have occurred in the educational process on the basis of the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education 3 ++, as well as in the structure of the troops, the need to revise the content of military education, as well as the choice of more effective methods for its implementation, has been identified. After analyzing the current state of affairs, the possibilities of frame methods were studied, the main advantage of which is the intensification of the educational process through the structuring of educational information. The authors have developed frame schemes, the effectiveness of which has been tested experimentally. All this made it possible for the teacher to devote more time to explaining the educational material of a lesson, eliminating the excessive amount of information, and for the cadets - to study the subject in more detail, to comprehend the information received, and then apply these methods in their future professional activities when training the personnel of their unit in the army.

Changes in the first place concern perception of lecturer, the system of role expectations regarding the leading qualities of the lecturer changes. Strengthening the attention to the issues of diagnosing the level of proficiency of language training lecturers of professional competences, as a modern trend requires not only scientifically based tools for continuous measurement, analysis and improvement of evaluation of educational results of students' professional training, but also a new look at the system of pedagogical diagnostics.
