The prevalence of dementia increases progressively, which actualizes the issue of prevention. Primary prevention of dementia involves preventing the transformation of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) into dementia, secondary prevention involves the early detection and early treatment of dementia, and tertiary prevention involves slowing down the progression of dementia. Current studies pay much attention to the correction of modifiable risk factors due to lifestyle, as primary prevention. Physical activity is a very important component of a healthy lifestyle, which is aimed at preventing the development of cognitive decline. The mechanisms of the positive effect of physical activity on cognitive functions are associated with decreased risk of cardiovascular disease, increased cerebral perfusion and cerebral blood flow, changes in neurogenesis and neuronal plasticity. Nutrition strategies focus on dieting, among which the Mediterranean diet has produced hopeful results. Sleep normalization is also considered a very important aspect of the prevention of cognitive impairment, because sleep disturbances provoke the development of cardiovascular pathology and affect the amyloid metabolism. However, along with combating risk factors, more and more attention is now being paid to the possibilities of drug treatments to prevent dementia. The experimental studies confirmed the neuroprotective effect of Akatinol (memantine). The clinical studies proved the efficacy of Akatinol in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia and showed the disease-modifying effect.

The article focuses on the fact that the leading condition for the physical development of a human is to achieve success in a healthy lifestyle. Healthy living is a practical action aimed at preventing diseases, strengthening all systems of the body and improving the overall well-being of the person. Optimal motor activity basis of the method of formation of healthy lifestyle, which influences different spheres of modern human life. Its need is determined by the patterns of normal growth and body development. It provides for the development and improvement of various processes of vital activity, support and promotion of health. Human physical activity with harmonious combination exercise, are indispensable means of preventing diseases, important factors for promoting human health and maintaining its efficiency. According to the definition of the World Health Organization, daily motor activity includes types of movements aimed at meeting the natural human needs (sleep, personal hygiene, eating, efforts spent on its preparation, purchase of products), as well as training and production activities, and specially organized physical activity combines various forms of exercise in its structure. The uniqueness of cycling is that during training you not only imitate mountain biking, but also exercise, and all this is done under pleasant music and under the guidance of an experienced trainer and lasts 45-55 minutes. During the exercise, almost all skeletal muscles are activated, and the load is distributed almost evenly into the upper and lower body. Variety of physical exercises, accuracy of dosing of loads, make the exercise on bikes accessible to people of different age categories. One of the main conditions for the physical development of young people, achieving success in a healthy life is health itself. Human health depends on the lifestyle that characterizes the conditions and features of daily life. Lifestyles cover different spheres: work, study, life, social life, culture, people's behavior and their spiritual values.

Relevance: normal physical education and upbringing also contributes to the normal development of such qualities as memory, attention, high levels of stability, perception, observation, and mental performance. In physical education classes, the student learns rational and safe methods of life activity, rational actions, rules of personal and public hygiene, hardening, etc., which positively affects mental development, the process of mental education, and intelligence. The modern Russian school does not provide all the necessary conditions that would allow it to become a place for the formation of the health of schoolchildren. It is necessary to continue physical education after school, to form among children and adolescents the skills and abilities of a healthy lifestyle, a conscious and responsible attitude to the preservation and promotion of health. The main task is to develop and consolidate a conscious attitude to health, personal and public safety among children and adolescents for the entire life cycle. The reasons for the increased attention to the health of students are the following: insufficient motor activity, low level of knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of motor activity, as well as insufficient awareness of the formation of a healthy lifestyle of adolescents.

The article reveals modern approaches to optimizing motor activity of student youth. The importance of motor activity in the life of students, its impact on physical development, physical fitness, psycho-emotional state of those involved is substantiated. The analysis of scientific publications devoted to the problem of optimization of motor activity, youth health and modeling of motor modes of students of higher education institutions is carried out. The problem of lack of motor activity in young people has been identified, which requires the search for new scientific approaches and effective solutions. It is determined that one of the most effective ways to optimize physical activity is the introduction of modern information and communication technologies in the process of physical education of higher education institutions. Today, cardiovascular diseases, which are associated with insufficient physical activity, are becoming more common. And in a pandemic, lockdown, distance learning, there is a rapid decline in physical activity, which negatively affects not only the physical fitness of young people, but can also lead to diseases such as atherosclerosis, hypertension, angina and myocardial infarction, and so on. Their spread in our time is not accidental, it is directly related to changes in the motor regime of the majority of the population, due to modern living conditions: the rapid pace of technology, the growth of information, increasing mental stress.

The article reveals the peculiarities of the use of innovative technologies in swimming lessons for students of higher education institutions. It is found that the development of a large number of swimming movements simultaneously by all methods of swimming first light, then sports and elements of applied swimming allows at the initial stage to choose the easiest way first and gradually move to complex. This reduces the duration of the entire period of development of swimming techniques. It is established that the use of innovative technologies in teaching swimming to students contributes to the formation of their need for a healthy lifestyle, increase their level of preparedness and functionality of the body. Analysis of swimming programs used in higher education institutions shows that classes are usually built according to the traditional method with the parallel development of two similar in structure methods of rabbit on the chest and rabbit on the back. At the same time, the peculiarities of sex and age, interests, motives and needs of students, as well as individual features and tendencies to master a certain type of motor activity are not sufficiently taken into account. The organization of swimming lessons with young students in the mode of training, taking into account the above features, can significantly affect the formation of their need for a healthy lifestyle, health and prevent further deterioration.

The article describes the influence of motor activity on the physical condition of student youth. It is established that there is a tendency to decrease motor activity among modern youth. The positive effect of physical activity on physical fitness, health and psycho- emotional state has been studied. The importance of motivation for physical education classes and increase of motor activity is revealed. It was found that one of the valeological factors that contributes to the formation of the foundations of health and longevity of modern youth is physical activity; Excessive educational workload in higher education institutions has a negative impact on the process of students' recovery. In order to determine the level of physical health of student youth and motivation of physical education classes, a questionnaire and research were conducted according to the method of O. Pirogova. Harmonious development of personality provides adequate motor activity and cultural and aesthetic activities. Students of pedagogical specialties are not able to fully organize their motor activity. This is due to a fairly large mental load, low motivation to engage in physical education, non- adherence to a healthy lifestyle and insufficient efficiency of modern organization of physical education of students. One of the most common reasons is the deterioration of the diet, reduced efficiency of traditional preventive measures, reduced physical activity due to the rapid development of information and communication technologies.

The study objective is to evaluate the possibility of using screening methods for determining the effectiveness of health and fitness activities of students in higher education institutions. Materials and methods. The participants in the experiment were 37 first-year students (17 boys and 20 girls) of the School of History of H. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University. The experiment lasted during the fall semester. Using the Framingham method for analyzing weekly timing, the study conducted a survey among the students on their level of motor activity and performed a functional movement screen testing. To tentatively evaluate the cause and effect relationship between the level of motor activity and the occurrence of a pathological movement pattern, the study used the Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. The characteristics between the groups were analyzed by using the Mann-Whitney test for comparing the distribution of ordinal variables. Results. The correlation analysis showed that the first-year students’ motor activity was positively related to the results of functional movement screening (R=+0.69, p< 0.05). At the same time, the students (EG1) who mainly had a high level of physical activity at physical education classes showed low values of functional movement evaluation, compared to the students (EG2) participating in extra-curricular physical activity. In EG1, the overall screening score was 10.3±0.7, in EG2 — 14.2±0.9 (p<0.05). Conclusions. The students with insufficient weekly motor activity had risk values of the test (10.3±0.7), which requires further analysis of the causes of a pathological movement pattern. The study results have confirmed the existence of the relationship between motor activity indicators and functional movement evaluation (R=+0.69, p<0.05). This provides a way to use the screening method of determining motor competence for the effectiveness evaluation of health and fitness programs, but further research is needed.
