The main research narratives of the article are: the influence of artistic strategy on the political communication in the condition of post truth; political imagination and regime of post truth; art and regime of truth; rationality of illusions in the political communication; the techniques of artistic suggestion in public dialogue. It deals with the principle of reliability, the legitimacy rituals in the hunting for the voters. It is analyzed the mythological transformation, imitative mythology of the modern medias. It is discerned the technological integration of art in religion and politics, communication actions that make its “generic” feature and the “generic” burden at the same time. Such notions as poetry, art and technology are connected with the unfolding of the technological refinement in all spheres of human activity. The author explains the need of the mythological distortion as the basis for the building of reality. It deals with the PR- technology transformation as the particular case of the cultural-political project into undeniable social value. It is defined the role of the artistic and political projects as the communicative prosthesis. Simultaneously the author traces the ouster of illusion in public communication. He analyzes the modalities of the communicative practice and communicative experience reduction in the socialization process as well as the technological perfection in the mythological representation. The special features of the mythological absorption as the negation of law and social subject are determined here. It is also defined the sense of the law rationality regarding the rationality of myth.

The article deals with the mechanism of impact of sociopsychological phenomena such as the national character and the political mentality in the construction and functioning of civil society. It aims to show the impact of climate, religion, and the perception of happiness on the state of civil society through details of a national nature. The main research method is to compare data from global research on the state of civil society with data from climatic conditions, dominant religions, and happiness indices. The article proves coincidently that these factors are reflected in such essential characteristics of civil society as "openness" and "closed-mindedness". The interaction between the national character and the construction of civil society has two stages. It is concluded that the results obtained are important to evaluate the prospects for the construction and development of civil society in different countries and regions of the world. Further research in this direction involves the study of other aspects of the impact of national character and political mindset on the functioning of civil society.

A powerful tool for content analysis, DICTION allows scholars to illuminate the ideas, perspectives, and linguistic tendencies of a wide variety of political actors. At its best, a tool like DICTION allows scholars not just to describe the features of political language, but also to analyze the causes and the consequences those features in ways that advance our understanding political communication more broadly. Effective analysis involves helping academic audiences understand what the measures being used mean, how the results relate to broader theoretical constructs, and the extent to which findings reveal something important about the political world. This involves exploring both the causes and the consequences of linguistic choices, including by attending closely to how those texts are received by their intended audiences. In this chapter, the authors review ways in which DICTION has been used and might be used to better understand the role of political leadership, the meaning of democracy, and the effects of political language on the political behavior of ordinary citizens.

Abstract This contribution explores the interaction between religion and politics in a religiously plural and ethnically multidimensional Zambian context. Given the political salience of both religion and ethnicity in Zambian politics, this research locates an understudied aspect in the discourse on religion and politics in Zambia, namely the multiple relations between religion, ethnicity and politics. It specifically offers a historical-theological analysis of the implications that the political mobilisation of religion has for ecumenism in Zambia since Edgar Chagwa Lungu became the country’s president (2015-2018). Underlining the church-dividing potential of non-theological (doctrinal) factors, the article argues that the ‘political mobilisation of religion’ and the ‘pentecostalisation of Christianity’ in Zambia are reshaping the country’s ecumenical landscapes. Accordingly, this contribution posits the significance of ecumenical consciousness among churches and argues for a contextual ecumenical ecclesiology.

The grammar of the Indonesian language is greatly made use of inpolitical discourse and especially after the era of the Old Order. Via grammaticalforms, the political elite fights for its power and ideology, both explicitly andimplicitly, causing an unbalanced political communication. A research study thisarticle is about was conducted to (1) describe and interpret the utilization ofgrammaticality in political discourse and (2) clarify why certain grammaticalforms are paid special attention while others are not.The study applied a critical qualitative approach with a “critical discourseanalysis” design from Fairclough (1989: 1995). In this perspective, no textproduced by the political elite is neutral from political interest. Discourse is asocial construction and results from social-historical and political conditions.There is no discourse which is a social vacuum. Discourse is a social creationreflecting the interests of certain social groups.The research results indicate that (1) each group of the Indonesianpolitical elite uses transitivity with material meaning, agent nominalization, thepassive voice, and the negative form to show its power and hide its ideologicalposition, (2) each assumes the role of information provider, shows its authority inthe presence of the other groups and the Indonesian society, and asserts its powerby choosing to use the personal pronouns we and I, (3) it makes considerable use ofmodality expressing authority, and (4) there are institutional and cultural processesexplaining why certain grammatical forms are paid special attention while othersare not.Keywords: grammaticality, political discourse

This study aims to show how the role of women's political communication in the city of santri (a student in Islamic boarding school) in facing political power that is dominated by men in Situbondo. It becomes a development in women's political communication in a practical and scientific manner. The reality of the political climate in Situbondo is inseparable from the influence of the kyai as religious and cultural figures, so each of his political perceptions and views certainly has its own perspective and far from gender justice. Consequently, this affects the political space for female santri in Situbondo. In this research, building theoretical interconnections from building theoretical frameworks used such as political communication, gender analysis and phenomenology, related to the focus of research. With a qualitative-explorative research approach, several steps in the procedure of collecting observational data, interviews and documentation are applied consistently and continuously. The results of the research are firstly Santri woman has a political outlook with the benefit of minimizing conflict; secondly cultural barriers as a medium of political communication are effectively overcome by female santri. Besides, female santri tend to override political choices by preferring the political choices of the figures they envision for benefit purposes.

The convergence of television with internet technologies has further upheld the participatory role of Internet in modern political communication. The adoption of Internet communication regulations in television programs has created a new hybrid model of “Internetized Television” which has the potential to strengthen citizens’ voice in political life. In this research paper, an extensive empirical study of certain variables relating to participation in internetized television was conducted, focusing, in particular, on the impact of this new medium during the 2007 national elections in Greece, when a specific broadcast was aired on TV, namely the “Skai-YouTube Debate.” Based on the results of our survey, an in-depth theoretical discussion of the political and communicative challenges imposed by this form of internetized television was conducted.

AbstractWhile observers have focused on the political use of social media when exploring their democratic potential, we know little about users’ perceptions of these media. These perceptions could well be important to understanding the political use of social media. In exploring users’ perceptions, the article asks whether politicians and voters view social media in a similar way, and to what extent they consider social media to be an apt arena for political communication. Within a Norwegian context, which may prove useful as a critical case, and using the technological frames model, we find that although voters’ and politicians’ opinions are not that dissimilar overall, politicians are more likely to recognize the political communicative role of social media. However, social media do indeed have the potential to become arenas for political mobilization among groups that traditionally are less visible in political arenas.

This paper focuses on the argumentative approaches and the rhetorical strategies employed by political actors in France in favour of or against the EU Constitutional Treaty (TCE), as they appeared in four French daily newspapers, Le Monde, Le Figaro, Libération and Aujourd’hui en France (national edition of Le Parisien), before the 29th of May 2005 referendum. In a qualitative discourse analysis and with the aid of argumentation theories and political communication approaches, the study investigates how the European Union’s Constitution, identity and future were represented and discussed by French political actors through the media in their effort to obtain public adherence before the referendum. Inevitably, the role of the media and the mediation process in the construction and transcription of the political discourse is also discussed.

AbstractThis paper explores the nature and determinants of attitudes toward the political role of Islam held by ordinary citizens in the Arab world. Based on results from nationally representative surveys carried out in seven Arab states during 2006-2007, it engages the pervasive debate about Islam and democracy—showing that the significant divide is not between those who favor democracy and those who favor Islam, but between those who favor secular democracy and those who favor a political system that is both democratic and Islamic in some meaningful way. Furthermore, this analysis finds that the civic values and predispositions of individuals who favor a political role for Islam are overwhelmingly similar to those of individuals who favor a separation of religion and politics. The paper also finds little consistency in the factors that incline individuals towards support for political Islam in the different countries surveyed. Most importantly, this analysis concludes that there is little or no incompatibility between Islam and democracy in the public mind and that a proper understanding of the reasons and ways that Muslim Arab publics think about governance and the political role of Islam is possible only if attention is paid to the particular political and societal contexts within which attitudes are formed.

ABSTRACT                 Direct elections open opportunities for various layers of society, especially women, to color the direction of local democracy. The presence of women as regional heads is one strategy for the birth of a more gender-equitable policy. The efforts of women to achieve political leadership in the regions are not easy. Many factors influence women in gaining regional leadership. Therefore it is important and relevant to examine how the political communication process that women build in achieving regional leadership. The aim of the study was to identify and analyze the role of regional leaders as political communicators in local politics, and to identify the media and political communication channels used by regional leaders in gaining regional leadership. In addition, it is to formulate a political communication strategy for regional leaders in gaining regional leadership. The methodology of this study uses qualitative phenomenological approaches. The results showed that the role of regional leaders as political communicators in local politics had a lot to color the local political map, both at the provincial and district / city levels, although it was not proportional to the total number of regional heads and mandates of existing regulations. The communication channel or media commonly used by female regional leaders in this study is to use a communication and group communication approach, both directly through face-to-face meetings and through digital social media currently available. The use of the media channel was felt effective in introducing themselves, increasing the popularity and electability of female leaders in the area. The political communication strategy of women leaders in reaching regional leadership has three stages, namely networking strategies, message packaging strategies and media determination strategies.Keywords: female leaders, political communication, media channels, communication strategies ABSTRAK Pilkada langsung membuka peluang pada berbagai lapisan masyarakat terutama kaum perempuan untuk ikut mewarnai arah demokrasi lokal. Kehadiran perempuan sebagai kepala daerah merupakan salah satu strategi bagi lahirnya kebijakan yang lebih adil gender. Upaya perempuan dalam meraih kepemimpinan politik di daerah bukanlah hal yang mudah. Banyak faktor yang memengaruhi perempuan dalam meraih kepemimpinan daerah. Oleh karena itu menjadi penting dan relevan untuk mengkaji bagaimana proses komunikasi politik yang dibangun perempuan dalam meraih kepemimpinan daerah. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis peranan perempuan pemimpin daerah sebagai komunikator politik dalam politik lokal, serta mengidentifikasi media dan saluran komunikasi politik yang digunakan perempuan pemimpin daerah dalam meraih kepemimpinan daerah. Selain itu adalah merumuskan strategi komunikasi politik perempuan pemimpin daerah dalam meraih kepemimpinan daerah. Metodologi penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peranan perempuan pemimpin daerah sebagai komunikator politik dalam politik lokal telah banyak mewarnai peta politik lokal, baik di tingkat provinsi maupun kabupaten/kota, walaupun belum proporsional dengan jumlah keseluruhan kepala daerah dan amanat dari regulasi yang telah ada.  Saluran komunikasi atau media yang umum digunakan oleh pemimpin daerah perempuan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan komunikasi dan juga komunikasi kelompok, baik secara langsung melalui pertemuan tatap muka dan melalui media sosial digital yang ada saat ini.  Pemanfaatan saluran media tersebut dirasakan efektif untuk memperkenalkan diri, meningkatkan popularitas dan elektabilitas dari tokoh perempuan pemimpinan daerah tersebut. Strategi komunikasi politik perempuan pemimpin daerah dalam meraih kepemimpinan daerah memiliki tiga tahapan, yaitu strategi membangun jejaring, strategi pengemasan pesan dan strategi penentuan media.Kata Kunci: Pemimpin perempuan, komunikasi politik, saluran media, strategi komunikasi dan daerah
