Introduction. The article analyzes the problem of self-actualization and professional orientation of specialists in various fields. A theoretical study of the problem of self-actualization has shown that it is a specific form of cognitive creative activity, involving the identification, study and assessment of one’s capabilities and implementation in the profession. Materials and Methods. The article presents the results of an empirical study of self-actualization and professional orientation of specialists of various profiles using a set of methods: the questionnaire “Diagnostics of self-actualization of the personality of A. V. Lazukin” (adapted by N. F. Kalin); test to determine the professional orientation of the personality of J. Holland; methods of diagnostics of socio-psychological attitudes of a person in the motivational-need-sphere of O. F. Potemkina; methods of statistical data processing: Mann – Whitney U-test, correlation analysis. Research Results. Statistically significant differences were revealed between the indicators of self-actualization, motivation and professional orientation among specialists from different professional groups. The correlation relationships between the types of professional orientation and various scales of self-actualization and attitudes in the motivational-need-sphere of representatives of various professional groups have been revealed. It was found that the features of self-actualization, values, motives and needs of specialists are largely due to the specifics of their professional activities and the type of professional orientation. The desire for self-actualization, creativity, spontaneity, self-understanding, contact and flexibility in communication is most pronounced among specialists with a social and entrepreneurial type of orientation, whose activities provide opportunities for creative self-expression. Discussion and Conclusion. The results obtained confirm the assumption that the desire for self-actualization of specialists is largely due to their professional orientation and the specifics of their professional activities.

The article considers the issues of studying and forming creative abilities as a scientific problem. Based on the analysis of scientific developments devoted to students’ creative abilities, it was determined that for the most part the professional and creative formation of a bachelor's personality is studied on the basis of a specific direction of training, quite often – on the basis of the analysis of the work of universities of culture and art, and pedagogical creativity in most cases – on the material of the pedagogical university. It was revealed that insufficient attention is paid by scientists to the analysis of the problems of educating creatively enthusiastic specialists in different areas of training, united by common projects, not always subordinate to future professional activities, but revealing internal individual resources, the creative potential of each and aimed at personal self-development. It was confirmed that the formation of creative abilities should be built on the desire for high achievements, and not on the motivation for the development of the student, while it is important to form such creative abilities that can be implemented in different fields of activity. The article provides a characteristic of general creative abilities and a hypothesis is put forward: the formation of general creative abilities of students is possible on the basis of non-core activities – choreography, in order later to show students the possibility of transferring the mastered skills of mastering general creative abilities to pedagogical activity. The article discusses the problem of using choreography as a means of forming general creative abilities, the multilevel and multicomponent nature of which has not been sufficiently studied. Researchers for the most part associate general creativity in choreographic activity with the development of creative thinking. The student choreographic collective isdefined as an open self-organizing system aimed at creative self-actualization and creative self-development of all its participants, regardless of the profile of training.

The Central task of modern professional education is the formation of students’ readiness for self-education, self-development. Autodidactic processes are of direct relevance to the solution of this problem, which, acting as the basis for independent educational and cognitive activity, help students overcome the difficulties of self-development, contribute to the activation of creative potential (“self” processes), and allow them to become the subject of their own development. The article reveals the nature of musical art, which opens up opportunities for the development of semantic aspects of reality from the standpoint of creativity and continuous self-development; highlights the structure of artistic and creative self-development, which includes three levels – professional and value self-determination; artistic and creative self-perfection; artistic and creative self-actualization; the basic strategy of artistic and creative self-development of students-musicians, which is a harmonious combination of adaptive (conformal) and non-adaptive (creative) types of activity with a gradual predominance of creative activity. Special attention is paid to the components of artistic and creative self-development, which, representing the facets of one process, complement and enrich each other.

Renewable energy is a widely used term that describes certain types of energy production. In politics, business and academia, renewable energy is often framed as the key solution to the global climate challenge. We, however, argue that the concept of renewable energy is problematic and should be abandoned in favor of more unambiguous conceptualization.Building on the theoretical literature on framing and based on document analysis, case examples and statistical data, we discuss how renewable energy is framed and has come to be a central energy policy concept and analyze how its use has affected the way energy policy is debated and conducted. We demonstrate the key problems the concept of renewable energy has in terms of sustainability, incoherence, policy impacts, bait-and-switch tactics and generally misleading nature. After analyzing these issues, we discuss alternative conceptualizations and present our model of categorizing energy production according to carbon content and combustion. The paper does not intend to criticize or promote any specific form of energy production, but instead discusses the role of institutional conceptualization in energy policy.

Introduction. The educational environment is a cultural space open for the formation of a future specialist in his professional culture. However, to improve the effectiveness of training cadets, pedagogical conditions are needed that adapt training technologies to the realities of a modern military educational organization of higher education (hereinafter VOOVO). At present, training technologies have been developed and introduced for cadets who are able to function in the interests of the defense and security of the state, as well as to ensure the rule of law and law and order in the Russian Federation. However, the professional qualification of a modern officer requires the modernization of his knowledge, including on the basis of self-education, self-organization and self-actualization of existing experience. The purpose of the article is to identify pedagogical conditions conducive to the high-quality mastering of automobile technology by cadets by means of successfully solving situational problems, which, firstly, consolidate the skills of driving a car, secondly, form the reflexive abilities of introspection of the difficulties arising in this case, and thirdly, create a communicative environment, contributing to the comprehension of the service-combat mission by all participants in military-professional activity. Research methodology and methods. The study presents the structure of the educational environment of the modern VOOVO as a pedagogical condition conducive to the successful mastering of the discipline “Automotive training” by cadets. This structure was obtained through the analysis of existing ideas about the educational environment as a cultural space for the formation of a future specialist. However, the article takes into account the features of both a military educational organization and the specific content of the subject “Automotive training”. Research results. The following structural components of the educational environment have been identified, which represent a pedagogical condition for the success of training cadets to drive combat vehicles and cars. In conclusion, it is concluded that the empirical data basically confirmed that the pedagogical conditions developed in the study became effective in teaching cadets to drive cars. It was these conditions that organized the educational environment as part of the cultural space of the modern VOOVO, open both in content and organizational terms for the formation of a future specialist in his professional culture. Among the main ones, we identified pedagogical conditions that contribute to the high-quality mastering of automobile equipment by cadets by means of successfully solving situational tasks, which consolidate the skills of driving a car, form the reflexive abilities of introspection of the difficulties arising in this case, create a communicative environment that contributes to the comprehension of the service-combat task by all participants in military-professional activities.

It was in the interests of the Communist Party to create a representative image of Latvian Soviet writers, which would represent the interests of the party and at the same time oversee the course of literary life in the Latvian Soviet Writers’ Union. Such was the writer Žanis Grīva in the Latvian Soviet literary process. The influential positions in the Soviet nomenclature gave him power in the creative environment and created opportunities to monitor the implementation of the Communist Party’s course. The article aims to put forward the personality of Žanis Grīva in the context of the research of the Latvian soviet literary process and the Latvian Soviet Writers’ Union, proposing several issues to be further researched and developed in the future. The article is based on the documents of the Latvian Soviet Writers’ Union and the Communist Party local organization of the Latvian Soviet Writers’ Union, and the personal file of Žanis Grīva in the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Latvia, and documents of the Žanis Grīva collection that are available at the Latvian State Archive of the National Archives of Latvia, as well as Žanis Grīva’s personal documents regarding his life and professional activities that are available at the Aleksejs Apinis Rare Books and Manuscripts Reading Room at the National Library of Latvia. Memories of contemporaries were also investigated. It is concluded that the role of Žanis Grīva in the Latvian soviet literary process and the Latvian Soviet Writers’ Union is political and purposefully constructed by the Communist Party, and has little to do with literature and literary talents. It can be assumed that Žanis Grīva has negatively affected the creative activity of some members of the Writers’ Union, such as Gunārs Priede.

This chapter offers a new conceptualization of culture, focusing on domains of professional activity. Culture is understood as a dynamic system integrating material, symbolic, and social elements and describing the context of human action. From this perspective, culture exists not only between nations but also within nations, at the level of different groups and communities. Professional groups are cultural units, which bring together people who share a number of norms and values, work within a given set of material constraints, and co-construct a common identity. Artists, scientists, and designers represent distinctive professional groups associated with recognized forms of creative activity. Research is presented concerning (a) the factors involved in creative expression in art, science, and design, and (b) the creative processes specific for different stages of creative work within each of these domains. The findings are interpreted in terms of cultural and contextual influences.

The structure of the business environment, as part of the socio-economic situation, indirectly affects a citizen’s quality of life. A “friendly” business environment has a positive effect on job formation, thus helping with employment. A country encourages formation and development of large enterprises through various incentives that reduce regional disparities, especially in less-developed regions. Nevertheless, a huge majority of enterprises in the European Union are small- and medium-sized. Self-employed persons are considered a specific form of business. Their activity is strongly influenced by state policy. This paper analyzes the business environment in regions of the Slovak Republic. Its principal aim is to examine the development of regional disparities and the related quality of citizens’ lives. An evaluation of statistical data of the structure of the business environment in the Slovak Republic indicated a change in legal units in relation to business. Although the number of legal units are stable, the number of legal persons has increased and that of natural persons-entrepreneurs decreased. Deepening of regional disparities was not observed across regions of the Slovak Republic.

The article looks at the experience of building a media environment at school as a system of self-education and self-development for modern teenagers. The authors present a model of development of teenagers’ creative self-actualization in the media educational environment, the technology of media culture use in the educational environment and an original diagnostic methodology for determination of the degree of development of school students’ creative self-actualization based on assessment of independent work carried out by teenagers (media projects creation) taking into account emotional and semantic visualization of information and the symbolism of associative-semantic connections to evaluate the quality of the conducted work. As a result of the performed experiment, the authors identified personal characteristics shown by school students in the course of their work on media projects and developed a typology of dominant activities that includes four types of individual characteristics observed in school students: analytical, informational, proactive and synthetic types. Based on this typology the authors have determined the relevance and necessity for differentiation of work with teenagers of different ages in various forms of media educational environment and development of their individual educational paths. Correspondingly, a four-stage mechanism of introduction of a teenager into a media educational environment has been suggested providing for the integration of art into the educational environment. The article presents the results of a pilot project that was carried out in state budgetary educational institutions located in Moscow: School no. 1253, School no. 171, School no. 89 and in the children's creative center Trubetskoy Estate in Khamovniki. The article is intended for scientists, teachers, pedagogues and methodological experts who deal with the issues of media education.
