ABSTRACT Objectives: to analyze school (re)inclusion of an adolescent cancer survivor before/after participatory health education with adolescents. Methods: qualitative and participatory research that included data from the medical record of an adolescent rhabdomyosarcoma survivor and Talking Map dynamics (to diagnose the demand for learning and assess changes). The body-knowledge dynamics were applied in the educational intervention. In a public school in Rio de Janeiro, the adolescent (reference case) and nine people (four teachers and five teenagers) generated empirical materials, which became the content analysis objects. Results: strangeness to changes in an adolescent cancer survivor’s body image, bullying, and acceptance were problematized in educational body-knowledge dynamics through relationships between changes and barriers to welcoming. The participatory educational process was essential in raising awareness by promoting re-inclusive actions. Conclusions: participatory-problematizing education contributed to constructing a new collective identity and improvement in school interaction among peers.

The relevance of the article is determined by the existence of contradictions between the need to introduce innovative technologies into the educational process at school, as an integral attribute of modern education, and the negative influence of factors on the physical and psycho-emotional state of health of students related to the use of information and communication tools (computers, phones, headphones). The goal of the study was to assess the relationship between the timing of the use of information and communication tools and the frequency of functional and psycho-emotional complaints in groups of middle and high school schoolchildren. 400 schoolchildren of the Saratov Region, the Moscow Region, Leningrad Region and the Republic of Dagestan were surveyed, who made up two groups of research: middle-school schoolchildren (grades 5–6) and high-school schoolchildren (grades 10–11 The survey was carried out by means of the standardized formalized cards which included the questions considering usage time of computers and mobile phones, complaints to a headache, hands pain, other pain and/or feeling of discomfort from visual organ and the organs of hearing, as well as a psycho-emotional state. Statistical analysis of the data was performed using the STATISTICA application software program by StatSoft Inc (USA). To compare the frequencies of a binary feature, a fourfold table of absolute frequencies was constructed and the level of statistical significance for the exact Fisher’s two-tailed test criterion was determined. The study was conducted according to the requirements of bioethics, after signing informed consent statement by teenagers and their parents. The study examined the relationship between the timing of the use of information and communication tools and the frequency of complaints in groups of schoolchildren. The results of the study should be taken into account when developing and implementing preventive measures to prevent negative effects of computers and mobile devices on the body of students.

Abstract In various ways the movement and experience of the body is instructed by others. This may be in the dance class or on the playing field. In these interactions, one person claims knowledge of the other’s body and rights to instruct how that body functions, moves, and feels. By undertaking a close analysis of embodied and spoken interaction within performance training sessions from a multimodal conversation analytic perspective, this paper will identify one kind of broad sequential trajectory – from intimate contact to public display - that shows how an instructor claims rights over the internal workings of another’s body by traversing different levels of proximity and sensorial modalities.

AbstractThis paper is a self-reflective narrative of our teaching experience as two immigrant Asian female professors who teach Multicultural Education. Employing collaborative autoethnography (CAE), the study addresses the issues of authority, positionality, and legitimacy of knowledge claims in critical feminist pedagogy. Two research questions guided our inquiry: 1. How does a teacher’s racial positionality play out in exercising professional knowledge, and conversely, 2. How does seemingly neutral professional knowledge become racialized in the discussions of race? Major findings demonstrate the double-edged contradictions in the body/knowledge nexus manifested in our everyday teaching contexts. On the one hand, the bodily dimension of teacher knowledge is de-racialized because of institutional norms and cultures. On the other hand, there are times professional knowledge becomes racialized through the teacher’s body. Understanding the body/knowledge nexus that invites precarious power dynamics in racial discussions and even blatantly dismisses our professional knowledge, we, as an immigrant faculty of color, find it impossible to create a safe environment for participatory, critical discourse. Acknowledging our triple marginality, we put forth the concept of “pedagogy of fear” (Leonardo, Z., & Porter, R. K. (2010). Pedagogy of fear: Toward a Fanonian theory of ‘safety’ in race dialogue. Race, Ethnicity and Education, 13(2), 139–157) which squarely disrupts the idea of a safe environment in race dialog and urges teachers to confront their own/their students’ fear and create a space of teaching vulnerably.

This study systematically reviewed processes and educational programs for self-management of health and diseases that are the subject of public health attention. This systematic review of the literature (SRL) is relevant to recognizing the characteristics of the educational processes in self-managing chronic diseases in contexts where technology did not play a significant role. Following the PRISMA protocol, the authors independently reviewed full-text articles from several databases using the following criteria: (1) intervention studies evaluating the effects of self-management health programs; (2) educational process of disease self-management; (3) studies that included at least one control group, and (4) peer-reviewed studies. In addition, the Scottish Intercollegiate Guideline Network measurement tool was used to assess the risk of bias in each trial. In the final sample, 38 articles were included. The findings regarding health education methods of self-care, using community-based care and technological tools, are considered fundamental. Among the conclusions, the relevance of the pedagogy that health education processes demand improvement in post-pandemic program effectiveness stands out.

Health education is one of the most important strategies when addressing the needs of the population in terms of health, an example that reveals this is the case of the educational strategies implemented in the population of pig farmers of Restrepo-Valle del Cauca to mitigate negative effects in terms of public health, particularly in occupational and environmental health related to zoonotic diseases. It is important to recognize that the evaluation of the interventions carried out in this regard must be made within the educational process, which is why the current work focused on evaluating the response of this population of workers with the health education strategies taught in the region in 2018. From a complimentary review of the literature and adaptation and implementation of an interview proposal, for a qualitative and quantitative evaluation of these educational interventions. After the application of the population interviews, it was found that less than half of the population in the database answered the telephone calls, which somewhat limited the generalization of the results from a quantitative data perspective; However, based on the information provided, a qualitative analysis was carried out that allows an idea of how the educational intervention could modify the behaviors of this population group based on One Health approach.

Purpose: To develop model characteristics of physical and technical fitness of players of 12 and 15 years of different playing roles.

Material and methods. The study was attended by football players of 12 and 15 years of sport school "Areal" Kharkiv, in which the developed technologies were applied in the educational process. In total, 23 forvards, 28 midfielders, 30 defenders and 15 goalkeepers were invited for the survey. Indicators of the running time of segments of 15 m from the course, 30 m from the course and 60 m from the course were determined; shuttle running time 5 to 20 m. Determined the length and weight of the body; Heart rate at rest and heart rate after a shuttle run. From the technical readiness indicators were determined: the time of holding the soccer ball on the foot; juggling, that is, the number of shots of the ball with the foot without losing the ball; time to run a soccer ball on a mission; goal kicks for accuracy; strikes the ball at flight range.

Results. Young players of 12 and 15 years of different game specializations differ in terms of physical and technical fitness. The largest number of significant differences were found in the technical readiness of football players for 15 years. Field players at speed capabilities are significantly superior to goalkeepers. Goalkeepers, on the contrary, have lower running speeds. The level of speed endurance is relatively high for defenders and midfielders, as opposed to goalkeepers. The obtained data allowed us to build models of physical development, physical and technical readiness of players of 12 and 15 years of different playing fields, on the basis of which training programs for representatives of different playing roles can be developed.

Conclusions. The data obtained indicate the need for a differentiated approach in the training process of young football players, taking into account their playing role. The differentiated approach is more relevant at the age of 15 compared to the age of 12.

Menstruation is periodic bleeding occurring repeatedly every month in women that starts about 14 days after ovulation and is released through the vagina. Menstruation is a characteristic feature of a woman's maturity where there is a change in the uterus in preparation for pregnancy. Menstrual health management (MHM) is a term that is often used in relation to cleanliness during menstruation. Menstrual health management includes facilities used during menstruation including clean water, soap used for bathing and cleaning all parts of the body as well as cleaning sanitary napkins that have been used. MHM is also related to the access they have to safe and comfortable facilities to dispose of used sanitary napkins. Young women must understand knowledge about menstruation and how to manage it appropriately without shame or fear. Health education is a form of independent nursing action to help clients, both individuals, groups and communities in overcoming their health problems through learning activities in which the nurse acts as a nurse educator. This study aims to increase students' knowledge and attitudes about menstrual health management by providing health education. The method used was to socialize activities to the school, identify the condition of menstrual health service facilities in schools such as bathrooms, clean water supply, provide educational media for menstrual health management in the form of videos, leaflets and modules; conduct health education about menstrual health management and post tests. The data analysis used was univariate. The number of samples was 36 people, namely grade VII students. The results of the study that the majority of respondents were 12 years (77.8%), had menstruation (58.3%), age at first menstruation was 11 years (52.3%), experienced menstrual pain (66.7%), information sources regarding: (1) hygiene during menstruation is the mother (38.5%), (2) sanitary napkins from TV commercials (25%), menstruation from mothers (45.5%), (3) types of sanitary napkins currently used modern sanitary napkins (65.9%), (4) the current brand of sanitary napkins from mothers (36.5%). The majority of knowledge adolescents category is 88.9% good and the attitude of the adolescents is 100% positive. Research proves that there are still students with sufficient knowledge (10.1%) and considering the importance of MHM as an effort to prevent infection in the female reproductive system and minimize the occurrence of cervical cancer in women in the future. Researchers suggest that schools include this topic in subject matter so that reproductive health can be maintained.

The relevance of the study lies in covering the potential of meditative practices in the educational process. The purpose of the study is to carry out a theoretical analysis and outline the probable forms of integration of mindfulness practices into the educational process on the example of teachers, as well as to create a theoretical model of the influence of mindfulness practices on the teacher’s personality with professional destruction. The study highlights the main theoretical models of understanding mindfulness practices. The most effective and most frequently used techniques of awareness practice are analysed. The main educational centres of mindfulness in Ukraine are highlighted. Theoretical analysis of empirical research of foreign colleagues in the field of positive influence of mindfulness practices on the personality is carried out. The causes of professional destruction of teachers are analysed. The expediency and efficiency of this integration are argued. Among the positive changes due to the use of awareness practices by teachers are: improving the level of concentration and recollection; increasing attention to the needs and emotional states of students; creating emotional balance and preventing burnout; increasing the level of stress resistance; improving the quality of relationships at work and at home; increasing productivity and as a result of academic success; forming openness and readiness for selfdevelopment; development of the level of reflection and skills to regulate one’s emotions; improving the psychological climate in the classroom and maintaining overall psychological well-being; improving the quality of life and increasing the subjective feeling of happiness. The scientific novelty lies in the creation and operationalisation of a theoretical model of the influence of mindfulness practices on the teacher’s personality with professional destruction through the lens of cognitive, emotional, physiological, and behavioural levels. It is established that the practice of awareness is the main skill of presence in everything that happens to us, around and inside, in the body, feelings and thoughts
