Morphological phenomena in the Nobel Gospel of 1520

The article discusses morphological phenomena in the Nobel Gospel, the written monument from Polissia dating back to 1520. The monument was copied out in Church Slavonic with some features of the vernacular primarily exhibited in phonetics and orthography. The study attempts to reveal the morphological phenomena that characterize the impact of the vernacular and contribute to broader language variation in the manuscript. It describes some of the morphological phenomena in different parts of speech (the noun, the adjective, the verb). Morphological features are compared in different parts of the monument: the four Gospels and the afterword. The latter contains the synthetic perfect form. The study examines language contamination observed in the combination of phonetic features of Church Slavonic and morphological features of the Ukrainian language such as the final -мо/-мw in verbs. It is essential to take into account the Second South Slavic Influence on the morphological characteristics of the text, e.g. orthographic change of о -w in the endings -ови/-wâè of masculine singular nouns in the dative case or in the final -мо/-мw of the first person plural verbs in the present tense. The study demonstrates that the text morphology is influenced by orthographic and phonetic variants h – è, h – å typical of the language continuum in Polissia. The article explains the interaction between the hard and soft types of declension in singular masculine nouns in the dative case under the condition that nouns with the former base in *jǒ acquire secondary flections -ови/-wâè. To characterize the morphological features of the Ruthenian variant of Church Slavonic, the Nobel manuscript was compared with the monuments of the same confession dating from the previous period of the 14th–15th centuries. A comparison with the Peresopnytsia Gospel, which is a translation into the Ruthenian (Old Ukrainian) language performed in Volyn, dating from the middle of the 16 century, gives grounds to confirm the conclusion about partial morphological changes in the Church Slavonic Gospel from Nobel and systemic features of the Ukrainian language represented in the translation from Persopnytsia.

Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a devastating disease. Neuronal death is an important pathophysiology in the acute phase of SAH, but the histopathological features of dying neurons have been poorly studied. Using several staining methods including terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) and microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP-2) double immunolabeling, we investigated the morphological changes of nucleus and cytoskeleton in neurons and sought susceptible areas to neuronal death in filament perforation SAH mice under light microscope. TUNEL and MAP-2 double immunolabeling clearly showed morphological features of shrunken cytoplasm and sometimes curl-like fibers in dying neurons, besides nuclear abnormalities. More dying neurons were detected in the moderate SAH group than in the mild SAH group, and the temporal base cortex was the most susceptible area to neuronal death with deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) damage among the cerebral cortices and hippocampus at 24 hr after SAH ( p<0.01, ANOVA). Lesser hippocampal neuronal death was observed at 24 hr, but neuronal death was significantly increased in the CA1 region at 7 days after SAH ( p<0.05, unpaired t-test). Using TUNEL and MAP-2 double immunolabeling, morphological features of not only the nucleus but also the cytoplasm in post-SAH neuronal death with DNA damage can be observed in detail under light microscope:

The presented article provides information on the morphological features and essential oil of Artemisia absinthium L., introduced in Absheron and cultivated in cultural conditions. The study compared the morphological characteristics of the same age species grown in different parts of the collection area of the Institute of Dendrology (sunny and shady parts) and the amount of essential oil extracted from the leaves by month (February-May). It was found that the plant grown in the sunny part, despite having a large number of branches and a large umbrella, is weaker than the plant growing in the shady part due to its growth. Even though the morphological characteristics of the surface organs of the same species grown in different parts are different, the normal conduct of the developmental stages of the season allows this plant to fully adapt to the conditions of Absheron. In the study, the essential oil obtained from the species varies depending on environmental factors, the growing season, and it is more economically expedient to obtain essential oil from plants growing in sunny areas. Artemisia absinthium L., known as fodder and essential oil medicinal plant in the flora of Azerbaijan, has a perennial, decorative appearance and perspective importance, so it is expedient to cultivate it in Absheron and use it in landscaping some areas. Black Sea turbot (hereinafter BST), Scophthalmus maeoticus (Pallas, 1814), is a valuable fish for commercial fishery and promising object of industrial mariculture. Potential fecundity of BST is very high, 3–13 million eggs; however, survival of its progenies during early development in the sea is unpredictable and low (mortality is up to 90 %). In nature fertilized pelagic BST eggs rise to the sea surface in 2–3 hours; BST develop in upper waters being part of neuston till hatching. BST on its early stages of development could be considered the most vulnerable as the embryo is exposed to diverse adverse effects. The survival and physiological state of the larvae at hatching till exogenous feeding depend on the norm of morphological characteristics of the embryos during their development. Our aim was to study the norm of the changes in BST morphological characteristics during embryogenesis. Morphological analysis of the BST embryogenesis stages from fertilization till hatching on the basis of detailed study of intact embryos (> 2000 eggs) sampled from different experimental batches incubated under experimental conditions is presented. Digital photos and videos of alive eggs were taken with Canon PowerShot A720 using binocular microscope MBS-10 at magnification 8×4 and under light inverted microscope Nikon Eclipse TS100, equipped with analog camera, at magnification ×4, ×10, and ×40. The morphological features of embryogenesis in BST before and after fertilization, cleavage, blastulation, gastrulation, epiboly, and neurulation and until hatching are presented by photos with detailed description of transforming embryological structures. Fertilized pelagic BST eggs covered by transparent shell vary from (1.26 ± 0.14) to (1.31 ± 0.15) mm in diameter, have homogenously distributed yolk and a single round transparent oil drop of 0.20–0.21 mm, positioned at the top of the yolk. Scale of timing of morphological changes is presented in relative time units (as a time interval from fertilization until the emergence of morphological structure in percentage of the total duration of embryogenesis, % RT). Cleavage starts at 2.5 % RT. Cell division desynchronizes between the 6th and 7th cleavage, at 128 blastomeres. Yolk syncytial layer controlling processes of epiboly, cells differentiation, and morphogenesis is formed during the 10th–11th mitotic cycle (12 % RT, about 512–1024 cells). From the germ ring registered at 21 % RT, the embryonic shield develops (at 25 % RT), and organize formation of embryonic axis from 20 to 50 % epiboly (31 % RT). During 70–75 % epiboly (40–45 % RT), the neural keel is formed; notochord and optical primordia become visible; Kupffer’s vesicle emerges at the start of segmentation. Optic cups develop, and more than 20 somites are observed at the end of epiboly (49 % RT). By 60 % RT the Kupffer’s vesicle disappears in tail bud formed; lens placodes are formed in optic cups. Notochord vacuolization, myotomes formation, and tail growth are observed by 65 % RT. The caudal part of the body separates from the yolk by 70–75 % RT. About 80 % RT neuromuscular activity starts; heart beating initiates; free tail covers more than 60 % of the yolk; differentiating xantophores give a pinkish hue to the embryo. By 90–95 % RT eye cups with lenses; three symmetric otic capsules with otoliths, melanophores, and xantophores present in the embryo with 33–38 body somites; it performs jerky movements. Prior hatching, the egg shell becomes elastic, stretches, and breaks in the head area. Hatching occurs 114–94 hours after fertilization at +14…+16 °С. By hatching, all organs are formed in bilateral symmetrical BST larva (standard length is (2.53 ± 0.13) to (2.91 ± 0.10) mm), three auditory chambers with otoliths exist, eyes are non-pigmented, intestinal tract is closed; within 3–5 days it develops at the expense of yolk. Description of morphological changes in the BST embryo at norm of development could be used for elaboration of criteria of developing BST eggs both in natural environment and under cultivation conditions.

Introduction. The relevance of the study lies in the fact that the Udmurt written monuments are studied only partially at the moment. Today more than 400 names of pre-revolutionary Udmurt monuments are known, but most of them are still not described. An analysis of written monuments is necessary, because they provide important information for language reconstruction, and besides that, they help to determine the chronology of linguistic phenomena. Materials and Methods. The description of morphological characteristics in the article is based on the previously identified graphic and phonetic features of the translation of «God’s law» in the Udmurt language. It involved the method of comparing the linguistic material of the work with the data of the literary language and modern Udmurt dialects. Results and Discussion. As a result of the analysis of «God’s law» in the Udmurt language, we revealed some features in the design of morphological indicators of plural, possessiveness, some case and verb forms, as well as pronouns. Conclusion. A comparison of the linguistic data of the “God’s Law” with the literary language and modern Udmurt dialects confirmed the hypothesis regarding the dialectic affiliation of the written source.

The Estimation of dairy cattle cows by morphological characteristics of the udder is an important element in the system of linear classifi cation of dairy cattle. This is due to the existence of a correlation between the linear characteristics of the udder and indicators of milk productivity and longevity of cows. Studies on the impact of assessing the linear characteristics of the exterior on the life expectancy of dairy cows are motivated and relevant. The exterior type of fi rst-born cows was evaluated according to the method of linear classifi cation in the leading farms of Sumy region for breeding Ukrainian brown dairy breed. According to the descriptive method of the 9-point scale, the fi ve most important morphological features of the udder in terms of selection and technological signifi cance were studied. They are:an anterior attachment, posterior attachment height, central ligament, udder depth and anterior teat location. The signifi cant infl uence of udder morphological features on the life expectancy of cows was established. Each of the evaluated linear traits aff ects the life expectancy of a cow with diff erent relative variability of estimates within a particular sex. As for the evaluating of the anterior attachment of the udder, the diff erence between the cows, rated at 1 and 8 points, was 681 days (P <0.001). The diff erence between the low (1 point) score for the height of the attachment of the udder at the back and the highest (9 points) was 610 days (P <0.001). Animals (17.3%) with a grade for the condition of the central ligament of the udder below average (1–4 points) were used from 2436 to 2156 days. Meanwhile, cows with the highest score of 9 points diff ered in longevity – 2786 days, exceeding cows with scores of 1–4 points by 350–630 days (P <0.001). Cows with the highest udder relatively to the hocks, with a score of 8, have the diff erence in life expectancy 597 days (P <0.001), compared to animals with the most lowered udder. Cows with a score for the location of the front teats had 5 points and lived longer by 156–484 days (P <0.001), compared with cows with a score of 1–4 points. Leptochelia Vatulelensis(Crustacea: Tanaidacea), A New Species From Anchialine Caves of the South-Western PacificLeptochelia vatulelensisn. sp., discovered on the small islands of Vatulele (Fijian group) and Ouvéa (Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia), is described and illustrated. The new species is distinguished from the others of the"Leptochelia-dubiagroup" (to which it is generally similar) by the following combination of morphological characteristics: (1) the presence of three to four distal setae on the maxilliped basis; (2) merus of pereopods III and IV with only a distosternal seta; (3) endopod of the uropods formed of four (rarely three) articles; (4) males with two (sometimes three) relatively short aesthetascs on the first five articles of the antennular flagellum; (5) male cheliped with a diminished dimorphism; (6) males with a vertical comb-row of setae on the cheliped propodus. Although it inhabits inland, anchialine caves, the new species lacks morphological features that are characteristic of some cave species.

The results of study of the 12 year cycle of studies on the only in Russia collection of hops ordinary (Humulus lupulus L.), which contains 250 samples from different regions of Russia and 17 foreign countries. The number of process varieties, composition and origin, it is unique and corresponds to world level. A collection of accessions of hops is a population of female plants with a set of phenological, morphological and economic importance of signs. In the article, the estimation of the collectible varieties of hops at different ripeness groups according to phenological and morphological characteristics according to the method of test for distinctness, uniformity and stability. As the result of the research the Common Hop (Humuluslupulus) sorts were classified in accordance with their maturity time as early maturity (less than 100 days) – 10%, middle-early (101…110 days) – 14, middle duration (111…120 days) – 40, middle-late (121…130 days) – 10% and slow-maturing (more than 130 days) – 26%. Each group has a phenotypic and morphologies features. The early maturity, middle-early and middle duration varieties with vegetative season approximately 120 days are more adaptive to the conditions of the Chuvashia and central part of the Russia and provide obtaining high yield of the hop cones.

Introduction. The impact on the body of such factors of the production environment as coal-rock dust and fluorine compounds leads to certain shift s in strict indicators of homeostasis at the system level. Maintaining the relative constancy of the internal environment of the body is provided by the functional consistency of all organs and systems, the leading of which is the liver. Organ repair plays a crucial role in restoring the structure of genetic material and maintaining normal cell viability. When this mechanism is damaged, the compensatory capabilities of the organ are disrupted, homeostasis is disrupted at the cellular and organizational levels, and the development of the main pathological processes is noted.The aim of the study is to compare the morphological mechanisms of maintaining structural homeostasis of the liver in the dynamics of the impact on the body of coal-rock dust and sodium fluoride.Materials and methods. Experimental studies were conducted on adult white male laboratory rats. Features of morphological mechanisms for maintaining structural homeostasis of the liver in the dynamics of exposure to coal-rock dust and sodium fluoride were studied on experimental models of pneumoconiosis and fluoride intoxication. For histological examination in experimental animals, liver sampling was performed after 1, 3, 6, 9, 12 weeks of the experiment.Results. The specificity of morphological changes in the liver depending on the harmful production factor was revealed. It is shown that chronic exposure to coal-rock dust and sodium fluoride is characterized by the development of similar morphological changes in the liver and its vessels from the predominance of the initial compensatory-adaptive to pronounced violations of the stromal and parenchymal components. Long-term inhalation of coal-rock dust at 1–3 weeks of seeding triggers adaptive mechanisms in the liver in the form of increased functional activity of cells, formation of double-core hepatocytes, activation of immunocompetent cells and endotheliocytes, ensuring the preservation of the parenchyma and the general morphostructure of the organ until the 12th week of the experiment. Exposure to sodium fluoride leads to early disruption of liver compensatory mechanisms and the development of dystrophic changes in the parenchyma with the formation of necrosis foci as early as the 6th week of the experiment.Conclusions. The study of mechanisms for compensating the liver structure in conditions of long-term exposure to coal-rock dust and sodium fluoride, as well as processes that indicate their failure, and the timing of their occurrence, is of theoretical and practical importance for developing recommendations for the timely prevention and correction of pathological conditions developing in employees of the aluminum and coal industry.The authors declare no conflict of interests.

INTRODUCTION. Among systemic vasopathies in children, IgA vasculitis Henoch Schoenlein (HS) is the most common, according to various authors, kidney damage is noted in 25-80 % and usually determines the prognosis of the disease.THE AIM of the study was to analyze clinical, laboratory, immunological, morphological characteristics, features of the course and treatment of nephritis associated with IgA vasculitis HS in children, as well as factors affecting the prognosis.PATIENTS AND METHODS. The study included 31 patients with morphologically verified nephritis due to IgA vasculitis HS (18 – boys, 13 – girls) aged 3 to 17 years, who were monitored at the Nephrology Department of the "2nd Children's City Clinical Hospital" of the National Center for Pediatric Nephrology and Renal Replacement therapy in Minsk from 2010 to 2019 yrs.The following parameters were analyzed: the clinical variant of kidney damage, laboratory tests (including the study of BAFF, RANTES lymphocyte activation molecules, pro-inflammatory IL1β, caspase1, TNFα, growth factors VEGF, TGF), 24 hours monitoring and office blood pressure measurements, ECHO cardiography with indicescalculation, ultrasound of the carotid arteries with the thickness of intima-media complex, morphological changes in the renal tissue, as well as treatment regimens.RESULTS. The contribution of deGal-IgA1, markers of T and B lymphocytes activation, pro-inflammatory and profibrotic molecules in the development of the disease is shown. Arterial hypertension was registered in 42 % of children, signs of heart remodeling according to the calculated indices in 19,3 %. Decrease level of adiponectin, vitamin D, leptin, increase concentration of obestatin, Pro-BNP, hs-CRP, and TSAT indicator classify patients with nephritis due to IgA vasculitis HS at moderate risk for the developmentof cardio-vascular disorders, which suggests the need for timely correction.CONCLUSION. In most cases, nephritis with IgA vasculitis HS has a benign course with rare relapses and progression to the end stage of chronic kidney disease (6,5 %).

L-methionine, an essential amino acid, plays a critical role in cell physiology. High intake and/or dysregulation in methionine (Met) metabolism results in accumulation of its intermediate(s) or breakdown products in plasma, including homocysteine (Hcy). High level of Hcy in plasma, hyperhomocysteinemia (hHcy), is considered to be an independent risk factor for cerebrovascular diseases, stroke and dementias. To evoke a mild hHcy in adult male Wistar rats we used an enriched Met diet at a dose of 2 g/kg of animal weight/day in duration of 4 weeks. The study contributes to the exploration of the impact of Met enriched diet inducing mild hHcy on nervous tissue by detecting the histo-morphological, metabolomic and behavioural alterations. We found an altered plasma metabolomic profile, modified spatial and learning memory acquisition as well as remarkable histo-morphological changes such as a decrease in neurons’ vitality, alterations in the morphology of neurons in the selective vulnerable hippocampal CA 1 area of animals treated with Met enriched diet. Results of these approaches suggest that the mild hHcy alters plasma metabolome and behavioural and histo-morphological patterns in rats, likely due to the potential Met induced changes in “methylation index” of hippocampal brain area, which eventually aggravates the noxious effect of high methionine intake.
