The psychological well-being is an essential condition of development and socialization of students. There are several approaches to understandIng and assessing psychological well-being of children and teenagers. The psychological well-being of school schoolchildren is considered by researchers as subjective feeling satisfaction of life or as a condition of psychological health. Multiple-factor models of psychological well-being (M. Yagoda, K. Riff, Yu.V. Bessonova, A.M. Prikhozhan) indicate the connection of psychological well-being with physiological and socio-psychological characteristics of the personality, which are the basis for self-realization of a person. To develop a program of psychological and pedagogical support aimed at strengthening the psychological wellbeing of schoolchildren, it is relevant to assess the emotional sphere (anxiety, depression, etc.), the cognitive sphere (optimism, reflective abilities), as well as the diagnosis of the characteristics of the social situation of development and the environment child, especially the family development situation and psychological safety of the educational organization.

In the article, the phenomena of “psychological well-being of the individual” is considered in the con-text of the cultural-historical theory of L.S. Vygotsky, in particular, the statement he developed on the “social situation of development”, which is based on the child’s experience of his environment and himself in this environment. Attention is drawn to the complexity and ambiguity of the very concept of “well-being” from the standpoint of the cultural development of the individual, to the motives and emotions that determine the emergence and nature of the feeling of satisfaction with oneself, one’s actions and one’s life. The assumption is discussed that psychological well-being can be understood as an indicator of the psychological health of a person, which is one of the most important states of a person and is associated with the moral development of a person. It is shown that the main condition for the “emergence” of a feeling of psychological well-being and its orientation lies in the interaction of the phenomena of “culture” and “education” and the deep mutual enrichment of the processes of training and education based on the integration of rational and emotional cognition of the world by a growing person at each stage of ontogenesis.

In the documents reflecting the modern Russian Federal policy in the field of education, one of the main tasks is defined as the well-being of the family and the formation of trust in the family as a social institution. In the article, the social institution of the family is considered as a leading factor in the aspect of managing the social situation of a child's development. The partnership of the family with the systems of General and non-formal education of children is presented as an effective practice of social and ped-agogical interaction, focused on the social and mental development of children. The fea-tures of social and pedagogical interaction of institutions of General and non-formal education of children with the family as a subject of designing an individual educational trajectory are revealed. It is shown that in the modern conditions of modernization of Russian education, there is a tendency of alienation between the family and the school. The school implements the main directions of work with parents, which reflect its lead-ership and guiding role in this process: increase of their psychological and pedagogical knowledge; involvement in the educational process of the school; involvement in public administration of an educational institution. The family manifests itself as a social part-ner of the institution of non-formal education of children, whose activities assume a fo-cus on matching the interests, inclinations, abilities of children. The implementation of social and pedagogical partnership is based on the establishment of links between the family and the educational environment, in the creation of which it actively participates. The interaction of n-education with the family creates conditions for the motivated par-ticipation of children in the implementation of their educational routes. There is an in-crease in the importance of such educational practices, which can include the family in various types of pedagogical activities as an equal subject, along with children.

The article studies the importance of emotional intelligence in various social situations. It emphasizes that a person’s behaviour is determined both by personal traits and a social situation. The foreign experience in studying the influence of social situations on emotional intelligence manifestations and its components is analysed. The foreign view takes into account, in fact, not the characteristics of the social situation experienced by a person, but the characteristics (context) of the social environment. The article presents also national scientists’ views on this issue, according to which a social situation and its role is considered via "emotionogenicity" of the situation for the individual, and also the question appears on classification of social situations. Manifestations of emotional intelligence and its components should be studied theoretically and empirically in the context of a person’s emotional experience and "physical living" in difficult life circumstances. The author defines the qualitative indicators of emotional intelligence and its components that can become certain markers of the psychological quality of difficult situation experiencing. A person’s psychological well-being, adaptability and subjective success can be such qualitative indicators revealing understanding by a person of experienced difficult life circumstances. Namely, these psychological indicators indicate the quality of the situation experiencing and the role of the emotional intelligence components in adaptability, ensured psychological well-being and a sense of subjective success. The empirical analysis of the proposed indicators give an understanding of whether a person is fully psychologically and qualitatively living the circumstances and what the role of emotional intelligence is. The theoretical model of emotional intelligence influence on the psychological indicators of a person’s life quality, depending on a social situation, is presented. The model demonstrates the influence of emotional intelligence and its components on adaptability, psychological well-being and subjective success depending on social situations, and vice versa. This model should be applied for the empirical study on the mutual influence of emotional intelligence on the above indicators; its novelty and importance for understanding of the social context is emphasizes. The constructed regression models are examined to determine connections and assert that the feelings of psychological well-being, adaptability and subjective success in a difficult situation are determined by the corresponding components of emotional intelligence, in particular, during the pandemic. In such difficult life situation as the pandemic, emotional intelligence ensures adaptability, psychological well-being and subjective success. The constructed regression models indicate that emotional intelligence components influence differently on particular characteristics during the pandemic, in particular, adaptability is ensured indirectly by controlling emotions and developed interpersonal emotional intelligence; psychological well-being depends on such emotional intelligence components as understanding one’s emotions, empathizing with unhappiness, and control over expressions; the feeling of subjective success during the pandemic is mediated by understanding of one’s own emotions and empathizing with unhappiness. In such difficult life situation as the pandemic, the components ensuring both psychological well-being and subjective success are the understanding of one’s own emotions and empathy for unhappiness, which indicates the importance of a contact with one’s own emotions and collective inclusion into the difficult situation. And the resulting regression model for adaptability includes completely different components of emotional intelligence, namely, emotional management and interpersonal emotional intelligence, which shows the focus on interpersonal interaction.

The current study examined the association between the social media application Instagram and its users’ psychological well-being. Participants, both Instagram users and non-users, were surveyed online on measures of depression, anxiety, loneliness, self-esteem, body image, and social comparison. Participants who reported having an Instagram account were also asked about their time spent on Instagram and Instagram anxiety. To understand the association between Instagram and psychological well-being, the study’s first aim was to compare participants who had an Instagram account with those who did not have one. Results revealed that participants with the application reported lower levels of anxiety, depression, and loneliness, and higher levels of self-esteem, than participants who did not have an account. Furthermore, loneliness and self-esteem mediated the association between having an Instagram account and depression and anxiety. The second aim of the study was to examine what factors are associated with Instagram users’ reports of anxiety and depression, focusing specifically on participants who reported having an Instagram account. Results revealed that anxiety and depression were predicted by Instagram anxiety and social comparison, respectively. Overall, these results show that Instagram is associated with psychological well-being. However, when Instagram users experience Instagram anxiety or engage in social comparison, it is associated with poorer psychological outcomes. This research provides an insight into the psychological impact that Instagram can have on its users.

Objective. Study of the psychological well-being of children left without parental care in a children’s health camp in different social situations and in different social environments. Background. The negative effects of raising orphaned children in state institutions can be compensated by their stay in alternative socialization conditions, including in a children’s health camp. It is important to study the psychological well-being of orphans in a health camp as determining the effectiveness of their socialization. Study design. The paper studied the influence of two factors on the psychological well-being of orphaned children in the camp: the type of social situation and the composition of the social environment. The connection was checked by applying the Mann-Whitney U-test and the Kruskal-Wallis test. Participants. Students of centers for the promotion of family education (N=115) who are on vacation in children’s health camps in mixed groups (N=64) and in separate groups (N=51). Of these, 55 are boys and 60 are girls between the ages of 12 and 15. Camp counselors (N=15) from mixed (N=10) and separate (N=15) groups. Measurements. A survey using the method of self-assessment of emotional States by A. Wessman and D. Rix, including programmed observation. Results. The composition of the social environment is one of the factors that determine the well-being of children. Among teenagers in mixed groups (“family” teenagers and orphaned children), it is more favorable in the situation of communication with counselors, and less favorable in the situation of joint activities with peers. In groups consisting only of orphaned children, the well-being is more favorable in situations of joint activity and everyday communication. In General, orphaned children in separate detachments feel more comfortable compared to orphans in mixed detachments. There was a discrepancy between the assessment of psychological well-being by orphaned teenagers and the assessment of this well-being by counselors. Conclusions. The psychological well-being of orphaned teenagers in a children’s health camp is determined by two factors — the type of social situation and the composition of the social environment.

This article is not only about the peculiarities of the work of a social teacher with a low-income family, but also about improving the social status of children in the family, about organizing social assistance, about helping them in solving the problem independently, and deeper understanding of own spiritual world and organizing different events to join the ranks of society. Socio-economic problems in the country can not be solved because of different age characteristics, and factors that affect their lives, particularly, the impact factors on the child due to the improper relationship between children and parents in the family; insufficient well-being of children in society or school; isolation from the social environment due to the various depressions; the influence of a low social situation, etc. This affects the child's psychology and after these circumstances, the child's potential for inspiration will be reduced, such as education, training, the desire to live, empathy with the leader of society, and consequently,this article emphasizes the special moments of social and pedagogical work, based on the works of comprehensive foreign scientists.

Analogously to the works in the field of new social studies of childhood, this contribution deals with the concept of childhood as a social construction, in which children are considered as social actors in their own living environment, engaged in interpretive reproduction of the social. In this perspective the concept of agency is strongly stressed, and the vulnerability of children is not sufficiently taken into account. But in combining vulnerability and agency lies the possibility to consider the perspective of the subjects in the context of their social, political and cultural embeddedness. In this paper we show that what children say, what is important to them in general and for their well-being, is shaped by the care experiences within the family and by their social contexts. The argumentation for the intertwining of vulnerability and agency is exemplified by the expressions of an interviewed girl about her birth and by reference to philosophical concepts about birth and natality.

Children, brought up in foster families, experience various problems (diffi culties in interpersonal relationships with parents, diffi culties in communicating with peers, emotional instability), which lead to confl icts, quarrels, running away from home, destructive phenomena, etc. One of the eff ective forms of working with children brought up in foster families is individual counselling. Individual counselling is used by various specialists (psychologists, educators, psychotherapists), where a special place is taken by a social educator. His or her activity involves the implementation of social-protective, preventive, educational, informational, advisory functions. In the process of organizing individual counseling, the social educator takes into account the social situation of the family and the child, personal characteristics, social conditions, social and cultural characteristics and the nature of the relationship with the social environment. To organize individual counseling, a social educator needs to master various and eff ective techniques, and take into account a number of recommendations. An analysis of the literature and practical socio-pedagogical experience led to an understanding of the insuffi cient degree of elaboration of this issue. The purpose of this article was the solution to this problem.

This study investigates the contextual and relational characteristics that underlie people’s information and communication technology (ICT) use and the implications for their well-being. We contextualize this investigation according to migrants, because they are faced with disruptions to their personal networks in the migration process that may attenuate the availability of social support and negatively affect their mental health. Migrants tend to be proficient in using mobile ICT to connect with different social ties to fulfill their needs, which potentially makes a difference to their psychological well-being. Through a survey of 504 internal migrant workers in China, we examined the social network factors that underlie multiple mobile ICT use and the attendant influences on social support and psychological well-being. Redressing the overemphasis on the importance of strong ties in extant literature, this study highlights the salience of mobile media multiplexity (i.e., the use of multiple mobile communication channels for social interactions) in weak tie communication and the greater contribution of weak ties toward social support and psychological well-being than strong ties. Our findings suggest that mobile-mediated communicative relationships with newer and more distanced social connections outside their immediate circles enhance the well-being of migrants. We contend that media multiplexity vis-à-vis weak ties underscores the reconfiguration of migrants’ communicative relationships following the separation from original ties and facilitates rewarding interactions with new ties.
