The problem in this study is how the implementation of the conception of Crime Prevention Through Social Development (CPTSD) by Bhabinkamtibmas in combating criminal acts of terrorism and why there are obstacles to the implementation of the conception of CPTSD by Bhabinkamtibmas in combating criminal acts of terrorism.  The research method specifically uses this type of qualitative research with a normative juridical approach to the problem and an empirical approach. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. Primary data were obtained from interviews with resource persons and secondary data from literature studies.  The results of the study indicate that the CPTSD model policy by Bhabinkamtibmas in overcoming criminal acts of terrorism is carried out through preventive, preemptive, and repressive efforts. Preventive efforts are supervision of chemicals that can be processed into explosives. Preemptive efforts are holding tabligh akbar and re-instilling Pancasila values in society. The repressive effort is the establishment of the Anti-Terror Task Force. The obstacle in implementing the CPTSD model policy by Bhabinkamtibmas in overcoming criminal acts of terrorism is that Bhabinkamtibmas still lacks resources both in terms of quantity of members and in the field of facilities and infrastructure which includes the number of vehicles and task tools used to carry out Anjau Glare and binluh to the community. The Binmas Pioneer program through the CPTSD by Bhabinkamtibmas has not yet reached the target, so it has not been maximal in raising public awareness and preventing crime.

We explore emerging contexts of social entrepreneurship in India. Social entrepreneurship is emerging as an important option in poverty reduction and social change wherein organizing societal responses to scenarios like entrenched deprivation, cumulative disadvantages, long extant institutional lock-in, and vulnerabilities enmeshed in social stratification, hiatus emanating from segmentation of labour market and inadequate coverage of social protection form the core of strategies/collectives/organisation. In this paper, first, drawing cues from the literature, we outline basic typology of social entrepreneurship while delineating pivotal role technology and collaboration play in social entrepreneurship. Second, we provide a glimpse of not profit organisations in India, based on the secondary data. We juxtapose select patterns from the data on non profit organisations with human development. Third, we discuss select cases of social entrepreneurship that diverge in characteristics and contexts, in particular how these initiatives work towards poverty reduction and social development.

This article aims to contribute to the literature on power dynamics and researchers’ positionality in qualitative research, by shedding light on the experiences of a minority ethnic researcher with a working-class background. Drawing on Bourdieusian concepts, it discusses how middle-class children confronted the researcher with language stigma and how they, while drawing boundaries vis-à-vis those who ‘lack’ cultural capital, (unintentionally) drew boundaries against the researcher herself. In turn, it illustrates how during interviews with working-class children, manners had to be adopted with which the researcher is no longer familiar. This article calls on ethics committees to more strongly consider how researchers might become ‘vulnerable’ themselves during fieldwork and to acknowledge intersectional experiences that potentially cause power dynamics to shift, even in research involving groups that are socially believed to have little power, such as children.

The discussion in this research is terrorism from the perspective of Islamic criminal law (fiqih jinayah).
